Javito, I have to disagree with you. I higly doubt Celine just sits back and let Rene make all the decisions. She is a grown woman. To give you an example: wasn't Celine the one that puched to add ''Ten Days'' on the ''A New Day Has Come'' album?

I think some of you guys are making a huge thing out of something we know nothing yet. We don't know what is the reason for this duet. Have it ever occur to you guys that Celine is just doing it out of the kindness of her heart. I higly doubt their aim is to have a number one song.

But it is not my aim that Céline makes music that hits the charts in the #1 position again, not at all! My wish is that Céline keeps doing music that I love. I don't care with whom she does it, who produces it, as long as I can listen to it without thinking that I'm missing the young Céline that I knew some years ago, or without thinking that she is wasting all the potential that she has with her voice with all the music styles on Earth-but she always sings the same

Is she going to sing a song like That's The Way It Is with that man? No. Would we love to hear a song like that again and listen it in radios and that people asks us again "wow, is that Celine Dion? I love it?" YES! That's all I want

But for all these random collaborations (because random is the best word to describe them), I think that she is becoming an anticipated Babra Streisand, with the difference that that status is coming so early in her career and with only in her 40's

Do you know for a fact that you are not going to love the song? That is my point, you guys are critizizing the collaboration before it even happened. For all we know, it might be a good song. Let's just wait and see what happens before we judge their decision to record it...

You are right Claudette, I should wait to hear the song to speak that way. Maybe after that I even thank God that Céline recorded that song, its true! :yes: It happened with Toi et Moi and You and Me with Charles Aznavour. But I just can't stop the fact that each time that she announces a duet with someone that I don't know (and the 90% of fans here didn't know who were Zachary Richard or Jean Lapoint) I feel helpless for the time that she's missing when she could record duets with well-known artists and great songs to dance :confused: I love the Céline songs that cheer me up, but lately, she only records duets of sad songs with old people :ermm:

I love when Celine does duets with other artists. It always sounds amazing, know matter who sings with her. I also wish she would record songs with more younger people though cuz it will keep her populare, if she does duets with populare younger singers like, Lady Gaga or Christina Aguilera.

That would give her new fan base cuz known of the younger teens and kids know who these older people are. It doesn't matter to me though I love all her duets and I will always love her music.

davidjag79 is right: Celine is the best selling artist of the decade overall; that is, not just based on album sales, but also on concert tickets sales and all the other crap fans buy. There were several articles about it a while ago and yes Oprah also mentioned it.

Thanks for backing me up Claudette :thumbsup2: .. I know i have heard and read these things i am not crazy :laugh: ..... plus like i said i could care less if she is the best selling artist ect. she will always be my #1 :in_love:

Sad, yeah. I'm also afraid that young people wouldn't want to collaborate with her. It would be a hard-to-change fact, given her music style I think.

Sardou has a great voice. He's a great singer IMO. And I have to say, he mostly have interesting texts.

Celine is searching for dueting with men that are ON the edge to die; that way she can do a tribute for them on the flat screen of her Vegas show so that she dedicates an entire show for hologram-3D men who are not alive anymore... :-D

I don't really care that much who celine sing with, old or young. It doesn't really matter cuz it's Celine herself that makes the song sound amazing, she makes other artist sound better when they sing with her cuz she's so talented. Celine just blends her voice in with there's.

She even managed to make Rosie O'donnell sound like a good singer and that's pretty hard to do. LOL. :sofunny: Celine can make anything sound amazing. There's knowone like her. :giggle:

this was confirmed by Brian years ago in an interview or something, but the song is still unreleased......

If she keeps going record duet with old people, young people would recognize her as the old lady who sang Titanic song. and a lot of young people have no interest of the old singer no matter how good the music is. for them old people is old fashion, and young people is trendy.

As we know, it´s duet for next Michele Sardou album, so 99% it will be french song, so I don´t undrestand why many people say things like "lot of people don´t know him" or talking about Buble and many another international artists. I would be happy if Céline recorded duet with Buble, but for her english album. This will be french duet for francophone audience or people who love french songs. Céline is also francophone singer so let her do french songs and duets. And it´s not 100% that song will be on her next album, like someone wrote here I also thing that If Michel Sardou (legend singer) asked her to sing with him she can´t say NO.

That's the question! Time goes by, and she could have recorded duets with Michael Jackson, Mariah Carey or Whitney Houston in the late 90's, before these ladies ruined her voices (especially Whitney). Now its maybe LATE :doh: She has missed a lot of time doing duets that won't go anywhere with unknown singers, and someday she will realise that she could have joined these stars and record a song to make History.

Yes she has a duet with Barbra Streisand. But imagine if we could say she has a duet with Whitney Houston and Mariah Carey, when they had great voices. Céline still has a great voice, but what about Whitney? Time wasted :doh:

Johnny Holliday...yeeeykz! what has that guy done with his face hhaha and no I did not like her duets with that one either!

and now this guy Michel Sardou.. I would say no.. to me he sounds the same like the other french artists she already recorded songs with..

But I have the feeling they want to keep her mature.. or better to say - older - audience by choosing these artists to sing with her. Older people don't like the modern stuff and they want the old style chansons..

But Let's not prejudice too much and wait and see.. after all we got a lot this year - although some of us were not completely satisfied with the video editing etcetera. She will be having babies and she is still recording.. so we get what we love to hear so much - her voice! a new album.. 2 new albums! and english and a french one! and she is going to return to Vegas! Well I am not going.. too expensive.. but at least she is still busy and giving us so much!

Sardou is a legend in France so it's only normal Celine accepted to sing with him. Of course, she should also duet with younger French artists, but maybe they don't ask her...

I started posting in the French section of the forum about a few days back,using a translator, and this post came up there, been there for a while.

I went on to look for vids of the guy live and to be honest he's not that good, but recorded as seen with the music video with Garou, he sounds quite good.

And I also said that most new people that right songs, especially in English, younger people, all their songs sound the same, and even older composers are using those old clichéd lines, that just sound so dull now, they have lost their meaning.

All the people in the French section do not want this duet to happen. He's a bit hit in France but none of them are for it.

Here's what I said to them, in french obviously:

"For me the talk of this "Sardou" is getting rather perplexing and boring, to say the least.

So what, we'll all end up loving the song when we hear it anyway, and then all those people who said about even the idea of a duet with him will feel like fools.

There are pages about this argument with people that want it and not wanting it. I just want to know if there is any more info on any other the other albums. Wikipedia says that there are 2 french and 2 English albums getting worked on.

Celine Dion: The Corpse Duets

Well this is the woman who has also sung with two guys who were already dead for years by then!

But yeah Charles Aznavour, Tony Bennet, Zachary Richard and now Michel Sardou, there's a definite pattern emerging here guys and it worries me. Okay they may well record a beautifull song, but is it going to raise her profile with today's music audience? (You don't need to answer that)

Commercially this is not going to get her noticed. Celine's best chance of getting back into the charts is a duet with a current act and not a ballad, but something with an edge to it, so that people sit up and pay attention, why do Sony not act on that.

Maybe that Justin Bieber duet is a good idea after all? (joke)

U forgot about Jean Lapointe and Claude Dubois.

I don`t know why everybody (almoust) wants a duet with M.Bubble and David Guetta.
