That's nice, but I would prefer if they included some scenes of the first Eyes On Me version, with Céline in red trousers... do we see something of this?

 

And do you already have the movie? I thought it wasn't released till next tuesday in Europe!

I still think it's a shame they recorded the concert after the set list had been reduced and gotten worse. The few interesting tracks that weren't the same old same old, were cut out when the crossed the Atlantic.

 

 

I repeat myself:

Think Twice is too neglected. It is one of her greatest hits, but never included on live releases.

 

I've Got The Music In Me was the best performance of the entire tour, and I personally think captures Céline's character and showcases her vocals to the max.

 

That's Just The Woman In Me one of the finest tracks in her career and truly showcases her taking chances music wise and the edgier side of her - which I thought this whole era and tour was about.

 

Can't Fight The Feeling a fun uptempo edgier track from her NEW album. The live performance was great (compared to the some other new tracks - Shadow of Love, Fade Away - which was really good on the album but after going through the live treatment got somewhat bad).

 

What is worse than those songs being cut out of the set list before the concert DVDs got shot is that they have them captured but didn't include them as extra material. To me this is just as unforgivable as not including Fever, Nature Boy and What A Wonderful World as extra material on the AND DVD. To be honest I would trade in all extra material of the AND DVD for the excluded tracks. Same goes for CTTYOTW for the performances listed above.

 

But that's just me. I'm just in it for the music. I don't care about Céline's private life. Much of what is shared with us (her attempts to get pregnant for instance) is none of our business.

Well excluding the extras is pretty lame...

And as someone said, her voice wasn't in tiptop shape. When i saw her in Stuttgart she was on fire. In fact most of her European leg was amazing. I guess after the EU leg, and after 5 years in Vegas, her voice was tired.

As a whole, I am thankful that I am adding a few new items to my collection, even if they are not exemplary :-)

What about TLYM (I heard it was but doesn't sound like it from the clip), IACBTM, MHWGO, and IDAN?

i wonder when did she take the time to re-cord all these song and how it must sound if it wasnt done live in front of an audience mixed in with the audience applause etc, can somebody explain.

Only the playback parts of the playback songs have been re recorded. So tpol abm alone and taking chances were partially re recorded while eom tlym Idan mhwgo and iacbtmn have been completely re recorded. Dubbing in these recordings wouldn't be hard and it's a common practice. All of mariahs DVDs have been dubbed too for all songs. They do a really good job. They mix in a ton of audience noise and a lot of reverb so it doesn't lose the live feel at all.

i don't get the lipsyncing part of Alone, because she is singing this live! you can see and hear that! no questioning for me about that..

Agree, she should be doing some promo these days! But hopefully she won't need it, this DVD has to equal the AND DVD sales or even beat them

I agree, she was pretty good with those. Not hard to mess up one word twice. If anything, the live songs would only look that way because of the editing, which is unfortunate.

Alone and Taking Chances are mostly live! Just the final chorus of TC and the last few seconds of Alone are not. EOM was not ever live I don't think?

But that just means we get to hear all new recordings of those sections

Alone is completely live, even the last seconds, i've watched this show about 6 times, and for sure Alone was live completeley, even the last high notes...

The Boutique seriously wants another $16 in shipping to guarantee I get it by Tuesday? Seriously?? The dvd itself is $15. I'm not paying more than what I paid for the actual dvd in shipping, sorry. I live like 2 minutes away from a walmart; I'll go get it myself haha

One slight critisism after watching LCMM on YouTube. After the first chorus, when she says "hey wait for me!", they use footage from the other side on the stage, then a shot from the ceiling. Why on earth didn't they show a close-up of Celine saying that part whilst running down the platform to catch up with the dancers? Just makes no sense. It takes some of the fun out of the song and its fab stage routine...

 

The same with Alone, the footage during the high note is shot from miles away. They should have used footage much closer to the cage as it went up to make it feel more dramatic, then have a camera going straight in under the cage to show her on the platform doing the high note. A much more powerful image than the wide angle of the stage they have given us.

 

Oh well! Only 2 editing complaints so far, not bad I guess!

LOL your just like me, It's like i could do a better job of editting myself than the way they do it. they dont know Celine intimately enough to get the most out of her performances and they have no clue what fans want to see. same thing with AND dvd, it pisses me off how they kept moving the camera so much especially when the show itself was always moving so we didnt get to enjoy the full beauty of the theatrics, what a waste!

heres a better place to place my review.

 

i got the dvd's in french and english and also the 3 hour documentary

 

Thoughts:

 

- disappointed in the literature, it was so scanty, almost like they cheapened out on the booklets.

- disappointed in the "extra" hour that they say they added. it wasnt an hour first of all and basically consisted of adding Alone and the other song that was missed out from the 2 hr. show. and a couple other incidents like when AAron broke his foot on stage after doing the flip, and how the other guy replaced him. you dont get that extra feeling of having something extra.

-Disappointed in JULIE SNYDER!!! how she produced this. she basically took the same exact songs from the con cert DVD and slapped them in between incidents on tour. and to make it worse she would use the exact same fans cheering in the auduence that you saw on the concert and trying to fool the viewer into saying they are from Czech republic, south africa or what ever country they are showing at the moment.

With ALL the 800 hours of footage and recording of all the concerts (i'm sure), couldnt they use different concert footage as least to try to make the film more authentic.

but of course, Celine and family did a GREAT job in just being there and being themselves.
