While I understand that people are pissed about the fact that they mixed the footage and cut the intro (believe me I was too, but you'll get over it), I really don't understand why people are making such a big deal about the few re-recorded songs. I mean to want to embarras Celine and go to the press about it and calling her evil and a liar and I don't know what else... that is just a bit much, don't you guys think... The songs was lipped during the tour, so would you guys rather take the old boring playback songs we have on on the other DVDs? At least now we get brand new vocals. I really don't understand some people. They can't seem to make up their minds about what they want. I swear I even remember some people wanting them to re-record the playback songs back when no one knew when we will actually get theses releases... I bet if they left the old playback song people would have whined about that too...

 

Edit: And people really need to get over this lipping thing. It is not like she lips the whole frigging show. It is a couple of songs. Besides, the songs she does sing live totally make up for it...

That would be a nasty thing to do to celine! She doesnt do it for helself anyway, she does it for us so she gives the best show! The thing is, would you rather a concert of just ok sounding songs or, some great liped ones and the rest brilliant with great vocals? He voice is used more than most other artists and it is harder for her to sing her songs. She could sing for example britneys songs which are lipped whilst reading a newspaper in bed and still sound better, cus she has a great voice.

 

You have to relise how hard it can be on her voice we want celine to sing forever and this is the only way she can do it. Look at B striestand, she still sounds great and its because she hasnt overdone it. Celine will be around for years to come if we give her a break sometimes

U are abselutly right but how about using her voice at least for the recording of the DVD nights only she was resting it for so long I guess or maybe atotune a live song not going to a recording studio bla bla bla and then make us think it's live and then after all this time we get both DVDs the same english song well just record her in a diff country another show u have lots of footage I wouldve been very happy if they recorded a DVD from arras it was a great show a diff stadium I'm really angry

if celine recorded the live vocals before the tour (just like madonna always does) and use the new vocals as playback, they wouldnt have to dub things, and it would be a lot more fun to watch live. And they dont need to delete all the audience noises then.

 

Well that's what they should do. The only trouble is Celine's team never changes the playback, they use for years! I'm surprised they made her re-record TC, EOM, ABM and Alone, these were new playbacks. Maybe it's because of the bootleg videos on YouTube so they wanted to give us something different.

 

Hopefully when she returns to Vegas she will go into the studio and record all the playback songs again, cos once she does that everything will be so much easier, her lips will be in sync, they can include more audience noise in the DVD, and most importanly the DVD will contain the vocals that the fans actually heard in concert. I hope they do this and record new vocals for every tour/show she does, cos her voice is always changing and they need to keep it fresh.

 

I hope when she records her next playbacks she does the full vocal exercises to make her voice sound amazing like they should be. You can tell from the TCWT re-recorded vocals that she put no effort into making it perfect, they probably told her to sing normally so that the whole DVD sounded a bit nasal and live. Hopefully in Vegas her new TPOL playback will be just as good as the 1993 one!

 

Yeah, i think in this digital age we live in we've been a bit spoiled with all the bootleg stuff so readily available on YouTube and suchlike. If we hadn't heard some of the other awesome performances from other shows I think we'd be really satisfied with the vocals in this release.

Agreed. Look at the Vegas DVD, no one could film those concerts so no one knew any better, and they lived it!

May I ask why the hell they are releasing the bluray + deluxe versions so much later? I ordered the deluxe of tteotw, but may 21 WTF!! I am WAY too impatient for this crap.

They could have changed the spelling of Columbus in the opening on TTEOTW they spelled it the way its spelled on SLP Colombus.

There was no "official" footage of Columbus. Gerard wasn't even there, so that means no pictures, there was zip in the way of recording at Colubmus (Other than fan vids on youtube) yet practically every big city has footage somewhere in the dvd or TTEOTW. There were soooo many great moments during the Columbus, Ohio show or as Celine said Ohio,Columbus that would be GREAT on the dvd, like the fan giving her flowers or someone shouting something about Vegas and her replying with "What happens in Vegas stays in Vegas!" Or saying she didn't know what language RC would speak by the end of the tour because they had been so so many places that had different spoken languages! The list could go on and on

 

I get that Columbus isn't a "big" big well known city like NYC or somewhere but still they could have done something since it had been exactly ten years since she'd been there last. They could have put a little something from Columbus on there as a like fact or trivia piece you know?

I am a negative fan either and I haven't even bought it. I just comment on what we have received so far.

I don't mind rerecording thing but then she should record it twice for French and English show because it's just stupid to have exactly the same on two releases (apart from French songs)

Wishing for Celine to be asked about lipping and for her to directly answer it is a bit much. Cant believe that's even been suggested to be honest.

 

However there is a reason they have re-recorded some tracks and that is because they are very very close to being found out about what's going on. More and more fans are realizing what is going on, yes even those who deny it ( hi you guys), and we're the people who support her the most and buy her releases and want to see her do well.

 

Imagine if this got out to the mainstream tabloids and press!!? It doesn't bear thinking about. So whilst I'm in no way encouraging Celine to be directly addressed about this, I do believe there is a very good reason why they are hastily re-recording vocals etc.

 

Of course, there is a very easy solution to all of this. Just. Sing. Live.

It sure would have been a lot easier had she re-recorded the prerecorded tracks before the tour started so it wouldn't have been the "Tapes from Vegas Tour." Whoever said that is hilarious!

There was a better performance of Je Sais Pas from Montreal than the August 15th version...I don't remember the date though.

You guys seem to forget that Vegas show ended in December and the tour started in February. How on earth would she find time to rehearse the songs and choreography and everything else that needs to be done for such a huge tour AND at the same time pre-record songs for the tour. I'm sure they would have done exactly that if they had a little more time. That's why I think she should have waited at least until Summer and then start the tour. I also think that this rush and lack of time was also the reason why there weren't almost any new French songs (from the last two albums). There just wasn't any time to rehearse both new English and French songs. But on the other hand, I will never understand why did they cut Tout l'or des hommes from the set list right after Antwerpen. Why to go all that trouble rehearsing a song and then never play it again after just one show. The same goes for A New Day Has Come (Radio remix) but on this one she completely forgot the words so that probably freaked her out so she chose to cut it (although I love that performance and it was sooo cute the way she forgot the lyrics ). Too many versions , too confusing,...... Just want to see my favourite singers dvd and i wish i didnt have to worry about all the different copies there are, and if i buy one (am only buying one) , am i missing out on something? havent a clue whats going on with this dvd. Gunna just wait to buy it whenever i stumble across it in a music store. And hopefully it will be the BEST version for a fan. Hmmmm, why cant it be simpler? perhaps have a dvd and just click on option of french or english. Dont like being screwed for money left right and centre. than the Cinema version. Is it the same?
