"Welcome Back" Book

what if:

 

All the pages are divided into quarters? Each quarter would have someone with their heart and underneath two short lines of text - a one line fact, and then underneath that something like.. name/location/age or whatever.. Everything would look crisp and neat.

 

Further.. the book can be divided into different chapters..so then each chapter was like.. a different fact

 

One chapter may have people's favorite song. Another chapter could be someone's goodluck charm etc.

 

That way each page doesnt have too much text, and we can use everyone's ideas.. everyone's photo, and everyone's location. People would have to pick a chapter/section we obviously can't be in EVERY section.....

 

Suggestion:all the pictures black and white (simple backgrounds.. no text on shirts etc)... but the hearts could be whatever color (that may be tedious to edit, but would look cool)

 

I know everyone wants to tell their story... but this could be simple cool???

Perfect. I think the simpler the better! The red hearts would look fantastic on the page and would really stand out. We may even be able to do a half a page per person depending on how many participate!

 

Let's face it, Celine isn't going to have time to read every word so keeping it simple I feel will be much better than something wordy with large paragraphs.

Okay guys.....I decided to try some sample shots, so maybe we can all get an idea if this is what we would like for the books and our photos for Celine's Welcome back Book.....what do you think?

 

I don't know how to add color to the heart, so if someone can help me figure that out...these photos were taken on my mac...which one do YOU like?

I like the middle one! But i think it would look better if you had a plain background.. like white wall or something.. that way all the focus would be on you and the heart

the color in the book cover is not my favorite, looks a bit sad. Maybe white / red would look better ??

 

also i think the heart hand idea is great. and in case someone can't submit a photo we can have a default photo with a heart hand that can be used to fill in for the missing ones.

Regarding photos:

 

1. A "heart" theme is not necessary. I don't think we can get everyone to create a similar photo. The book will still have a heart/love theme, so if you'd like to do something heart-related in the photos, you are more than welcome... but it is NOT mandatory.

 

2. All photos will be converted to black & white, so keep that in mind when choosing the photo. It is up to you if you'd like to send me a color or black & white version - it doesn't matter.

 

3. If possible, please make your photos large! Tiny photos can look distorted or blurry in the finished product - the larger the better!

Just a few notes regarding your PHOTO for the book:

 

1) The LARGER the BETTER! I've received some small photos, and they will likely be printed fuzzy or pixelated.

 

2) This picture is an example of what the pages will look like. The photos are in "portrait," rather than "landscape" format - so keep that in mind (bigger in... height than in width).

 

3) Your photo doesn't NEED to be in black & white - I will do that for you.

 

4) Please do not include overly processed/fake photos (i.e. not a lot of clip art, drawing on top of it, or a super-imposed "Celine" face on it)... we just want a nice picture to represent YOU!

 

If you need to send me another picture to take the place of the one you've already submitted, that's no problem! Thanks everyone!

Hey everyone... just a few updates for you!

 

We have 56 entries so far... on our way to my goal of 100+, but I'm not sure we'll make it at this rate... get your entries in! (For those who haven't submitted yet, I can't stress this enough... please make your photo LARGE!).

 

I'll update you soon on the look & feel of the book, but I'm still trying to get everything finalized. For now, here are a few quick screenshots:
