You can start anytime after sept 1 Flights can normally be booked 11 months ahead, so Im sure some of the seats are already taken. The thing is...do you wait for a good price or book a higher price to be sure you get the flights you want? Depending on where you fly from there may be several non-stop flights to choose from, otherwise a connection isn't the worst thing if you can save money. If you have miles to use for a free ticket then you should do that NOW or have done it already. I checked the flights that I want and there's hardly any seats sold but the price is still around $450 so Im gonna wait but Ill keep checking & checking because the prices have been coming down but not for March yet. That's correct, flights are loaded into the bookingsystems 330 days in advance, starting from that date the flights are bookable. However, booking a flight to far out can be expensive.... During the first couple of days when flights are loaded into the GDS with full fare prices or IATA fares. The trick is to book a fare at the right moment for the right price. Sometimes you can do good deals far in advance, sometimes you have to wait a bit. For my flight to Montréal last year I've only booked my ticket about 3 weeks before leaving and for a quite decent fare. My ticket for Las Vegas last year I've booked about a month and a half out for a very, very low fare... However, for my last trip last year, to Houston I've booked my tickets about 6 months out and they never reached the same price after that Buying airlinetickets is a bit like gambling, sometimes you win, sometimes you lose I'm going to wait until december or january to book my tickets for Vegas, during the winter the travelagency I work with has some great deals every year and regulary United Airlines (my preferable airline) is working with them in the sales so they have really decent fares... Regarding space on the flights: Intercontinental flights are generaly rarely oversold due the different (and hard) laws in several countries, so everyone who buys a ticket should be fine on his or her way out to Vegas. That is for the intercontinental part at least. However, be sure that you assign your seats as soon as you got your e-ticket and your reference to log into to the airline's website. I guess that nobody wants to end in a mddle seat so early seat assignment is recommended! Now, flight in the USA are from a different breed... Flights in the USA are generaly oversold and if necessary oversold by big numbers... Airlines have statistics and they know how much people generaly show up for a flight, some will not make the flight because their flight which they connect from is delayed, some have a full fare ticket which they can use for other flights without paying extra, some will have a flat tire, some will be sick, etc... So for each flight airlines know how much people won't show up and generally they sell that amount of seats over the exact amount of seats available on the flight. What happens if your flight is oversold? They will ask for volunteers to take another flight (this is called VDB: Voluntary Denied Boarding), if volunteers are available they will receive a compensation (free flight, hotel & food if an overnight is necessary, free upgrade or even cash...). If no volunteers are found they will pick some people of the flight and leave them behind. This is called IDB: Involuntary Denied Boarding. These people will also receive compensations for their trouble, in general these compensations are in line with the VDB's though the value can be a bit higher since they were involuntary denied boarding. If you have the time to accept another flight you should definately do this, you can get a lot out of it if you negociate right. Compensations of a free upgrade on the next available flight, a free ticket, a hotel, food and 600 to 1.000 USD cash are not strange for international flight... Quote ...

I have travelled around the world and didn't even know most of that Just make sure that you get to the airport early to check-in, coz the last ones to check-in will be the first to get IDB. Quote

Amethystj Posted August 31, 2010 at 06:43 PM Posted August 31, 2010 at 06:43 PM We bought tickets from British Airways: from Düsseldorf (Germany) to Londen, Heathrow (UK) and from Londen, Heathrow to Las Vegas for 640 euro/person. (outbound: 13 Mar, Inbound: 27 Mar)I didn't found much cheaper rates. (We booked in June, but rates are still the same now) When we went in august 2007, we paid 800 euro from Düsseldorf (Germany) to Las Vegas, but that was a direct flight. But there aren't direct flights anymore. I hope you find what you need!Success!!! Quote
Cheerfuljane Posted August 31, 2010 at 06:52 PM Posted August 31, 2010 at 06:52 PM You could fly from Poland to London first. Be aware that there are several airports in London and it could take over an hour to travel from one to another.Check EasyJet and Wizz Air.Virgin Atlantic is one of the cheapest and flies from Gatwick to LV.You get about the same price whether booking directly with them or going through a booking site like Expedia, but check both anyway. Check Expedia, Velocity, Opodo, Kayak etc.See what flights are available there and then look on the airlines websites to see if you can get it cheaper. You will have to make 2 or 3 stops to get the cheapest flight from Poland. Their is a British Airways flight that is still cheaper then the 900 USD you are mentioning also passing by London (LHR). I thought that Poland was included in the Visa Waiver Program but apparently I'm wrong, their is indeed a need for a visa when visiting the US as a Polish citizen. But I doubt that could go wrong, I even doubt that it will take much longer before Poland will be included in the VWP since they are a member of the EU... I guess the fare will last for some time... Take a travel/cancellation insurrance and if Céline ever decides to cancel (which I doubt will happen) you can go to your doctor, ask him/her to write a note that you can't fly due medical issues and send it to the insurrance company. You'll get your money back minus a fee (generally +/- 50 EUR). Quote ...
