June is kind of exciting now since it's like a new run of the show after all this unexpected time off!

btw not sure if i should say this in a new topic or so but one day i was kinda singing TPOL and i then suddenly i was thinking this song could replace Open Arms as the opening song i got same kind of structure from the 1st verse to chorus it would be perfect too! btw i love Open arms though lol just an idea

They did say that she will add the shows later in the year to make up for what she has missed due to illness

 

I really think that Open Arms will stay as the opening of the show for a while. I think the transition they have made from IACBTMN to TPOL is fantastic! It's really a great moment in the show and it's a great way to blend the two songs and still get enough of that medley that has been overdone for years now.

 

That being said, TPOL is one of my favorite songs and I would definitely be 100% on board with that as an opening - I just don't see it happening.

I do and i do be wondering why every one else around me isnt standing after EVERY song!! It just occurred to me as i was watching Live in Las Vegas. Was only at Celine show twice last year and will be goin again this year and I intend standing after every song!!! I cant stay sitting! Am i right in presuming that is what Hard core fans do?

Yes, she deserves standing ovation after every song, but then the show will be longer than it is intended to be. Let's do not forget this is not a world tour type of show and also the crowd - with all the respect, I think not everyone really wants to stand up after every song, and from my experience many people around me at the Vegas show had drinks huh, people want to enjoy the show and drink...at the end of the day- this is Vegas, baby! At Sade's concert the crowd was on feet for probably 70% of the concert.

Looks as if there is a good chance that I'll be in Vegas in August and will hopefully be able to catch Celine's show to. For my friends who are not really fans of her, I hope for their sake they make a few changes to the setlist with a few uptempos. I'd really love it if she would perform "That's The Way It Is" ...I know it has never been that great of a song live, but I think they could get it right if they really tried, like they did for World Children's Day. It's one of her most well known songs, and it's uptempo to.

I agree, the WCD performance is the only one that does the song justice in the lower key. The others just lack power and energy. I would love to see this song included in the setlist, maybe to replace RDMH which has been a mess ever since August 2008.

Unfortunately it will be one of the early August shows! No idea which, but either the 4th or 5th I think.

 

And Tim, I was thinking Lullaby and At Seventeen need to both be replaced with songs of her own catelogue. I used to say the same about Overjoyed, and thankfully it has. I'd like to see That's The Way It Is, because it's an uptempo that pretty much the entire public knows. As for another up-tempo, I'm not sure - ANDHC would be nice on one hand, but it's barely an uptempo in my eyes. The same can be said with Taking Chances considering the first half of it is as slow as any other song she has released. I'm also not a huge fan of I'm Alive. It's just a dull song for me. I'd like Unison, but I know it'd never happen, not to mention with all the ad libs it wouldn't take long for it to sound as bad as LCMM. Not to mention I don't think the song would fit well with the show, but what about Misled? I think it would be great.

I will be at several shows this June, and I would LOVE to hear more of Celine's own songs!!! That would be a real gift and a dream come true!! Even tho' it won't happen, I'd love for the show to last longer!!! It goes by way too fast. So much money is spent to go to Vegas to see the show, and you have to wait so long for the departure date for Vegas to arrive. After all that waiting and money spent, I'd like for the show to last longer. Of course, as they say, "Time flies when you're having fun". So, I guess I'd still be wanting more even if the show were to last 3 hours!!! Of course, I'd still like to have a chance to see how a 3 hour show would be!!! 3 hours is probably really "pushing it", but I'd be so grateful if the show would last for at least 2 hours!!! Oh well, I can dream can't I????

 

I know that "At Seventeen" is a special song for Celine, because of the theme of the song, but it's not one of my favorites. She definitely sings it well, but I think another song of Celine's would be more thrilling and captivating. "Lullaby" has a special significance for Celine, because it relates to the love she has for her children. I can definitely relate to that! I loved "If I Could" from the first Vegas run, 'cause that's how I feel about my children as well. However, I do believe that another song could fill the "Lullaby" spot, but still convey the same love and devotion that Celine feels for her family.

Yeah, I was somewhat happy that "Overjoyed" was changed to "The Prayer". It wasn't one of my favorites either. I still enjoyed the show, 'cause I just love being at any show where Celine is singing!!! I just want to hear Celine singing her own songs, 'cause there are so many of them that are WONDERFUL!!!!

For sure they let you in at 7 p.m., but cannot remember I think they opened the doors at 6:30 p.m..

According to Wikipedia, PQTME is on the show's setlist. It's right after The Prayer. It's probably wrong, I don't think she'd perform 2 songs in French in a show like this... ok for Alone, but what about A New Day Has Come, Pour Que Tu M'aimes Encore, I'm Alive, I Drove All Night and Taking Chances? I honestly don't see her performing these songs in a show like this. Some of them are too uptempo and the other (PQTME) would replace NMQP, I don't think she'd sing 2 songs in French in an anglophone show.

 

And by the way, if she'd add these songs to the show, I think they'd take the place of other songs in the setlist, otherwise the show would be much longer... so it's probably not true.

Choose another of your french songs Celine - you have soooooooooo many!!!!!!

I'm 90% sure she won't delete Ne Me Quitte Pas from the show, at least not any time soon. Don't forget that a studio version of this song is going to be part of the upcoming English album.

I LOVE Ne Me Quitte Pas. The silence and anticipation before the first words of the song is just . . . it's amazing. You could hear a pin drop in the Colosseum.
