Celine on Oprah - February 10th, 2010

So...it looks like no one else got a call today....do you think this is a good or bad sign for those of us waiting to here?

I genuinely don't think she knows the answer to some of these questions. She may want to go back to Vegas - but there are mountains of logistical details that must be sorted out first.

 

Also, I remember at a LTAL concert - she was talking to the audience and she didn't know if S'il Suffisait D'aimer had come out yet! So I think she has a different focus on her career. She has a team who deals with all the logistics - and she focuses on meeting the fans, doing the interviews, and performing.

Of course, don't get me wrong! We all know what are the problems (money mainly), but I was talking in terms of opportunities. US fans can't deny that they have many more chances to see Céline someday than a fan from Asia, Africa or even some european countries where she's never been (like mine!)

 

I don't agree with you . I don't think US fans have more opportunity than any other country. I mean one of the most famous fans is from Tahiti...very small island. I think it just has to do with the person's mentality, not the country they are from.

 

Anyway I tried submiting my application too but I still get the blank page

I tried submitting again and ended up with a VIRUS on my computer!!!!

I tried entering but it says the submission window has been closed. I guess they've reached their limit of applicants. Good luck to all the fans on this forum though. It's great to see Celine squeezing one more visit in before the Oprah show ends.

Just back-read through all the posts and didn't realize there was some contention to the validity of this show. We'll find out tomorrow for sure since they usually announce the next week's schedule during Friday's live shows. *fingers crossed*

It's just a taping though, so it may not air until the week of the movie release.

I agree, I don't think US fans have the upper hand on meeting Celine! I have been writing to Oprah every day for months now and had a ton of people write in for me too when I found the link on Oprah's website and I had an awesome story and everything yet.....nothing. So I dunno! I'm still waiting for my dream to come true, but I hoped I could share it with Celine next week on Oprah I've never tried so hard and dreamt so hard about something and I am exhausted from it lol. i think there is something wrong with my internal dreaming mechanism. I'm having no luck!

Its happening. They wouldn't of given fans two different opportunities to write into the show if it were canceled. These things wouldn't just pop up on an official website if it weren't true. So just keep writing in, and keep your hopes high. Hopefuly some of us from the forum will make it in there

No, I wish they had! Hotels are expensive in Chicago. They only fly you out if you won a contest of some kind and are featured on the show.

Having her always doing 40+ concerts only in the US (she visits almost all the states) during almost all her world tours, having her during 5 years in Las Vegas, and also when she releases a new album she always does the promotion in the TV shows there, doesn't mean that US fans have more opportunities to see her personally than a fan in Spain for example, where she has never been in her whole career in concert? I think I neither agree with you

 

Mentality won't help much if you are thousands of KM far away and you have to face the cost of expensive long flights, hotel accomodations, etc

I also think its a bit unfair how they pick fans. Like They only pick people who have gone to the most lenghts for Celine ! so if you havent jumped out of a plane singing "My heart will go on" or change your name to , i dunno, Rene Charles or if you havnt painted Celines face on your butt !! then it looks as though your chances of being picked would be pretty slim !! (No offence to anyone who has gone to these lenghts !!) . Hmmm, I dont think telling Oprah that I went to see Celine in Croke Park , and that she may aswell have been a miniture fly , for all i could see , would get me picked, so im going to pass on the whole application thing!!! I really do hope people on this forum get picked though and we can hear all about it

 

 

Or you have to have some sob story. But actually, when they had Brittany on the show, I think that's the first time they really picked a fan for just being a huge fan, and it was great.

They could've at least said "Success" or "Entry Failed" or something....

i think when a blank page shows up it means that it's too long and past 2000 characters, because the first 2 time i sent mine in, i got that. so had to shorten it, and when i did, it came to a page saying "thank you for your interest.."

but I counted my characters on word and they were under 2000. I still got a white page.
