Compare the credits of Falling into You to those on ANDHC or Taking Chances and you'll know what I mean. Time for some quality. Be it with Tricky or whomever, but only 1 maximum 2 producers. It's a shame that Celine's entire contribution to an album recording these days is about 4 days in a studio. She needs to decide what direction she wants to take and then really commit to it. Get involved in song selection, perhaps even writing and then really get involved in the creative process. Looking back at "Taking Chances" the whole thing really was a mess. The message Sony were sending out about Celine was all wrong and it was clear the public didn't get it. Yes, Celine was back with a new album and apparently a new sound but the general public never heard it as they lost interest after the first 90 seconds of "Taking Chances" and then totally jumped ship when "Alone" was promoted at all opportunites. You get the feeling that the big comeback after baby number 2 may be her last big chances for mainstream chart success. Sony was too stupid in their single choices yet again...I think not releasing Fade Away was the biggest mistake. Celine needs something fresh and with rhythm. Some electronic beats would be great even if she sings some "lounge" style music. Celine is afraid to experiment it seems. What gets me is that Sony/Rene/Celine could have easily released multiple singles at the same time in various regions and on various radio formats. "New Dawn" could have been sent to Gospel stations, "Fade Away" sent to Hot AC stations, "Can't Fight The Feelin'" to rock stations (not that they'd play it though...LOL), "Surprise Surprise" or "Shadow Of Love" to regular AC stations, and "A World To Believe In" as a Japanese only single as was released or remixed to be more of a country-sounding hit. Rounding everything out would have been "My Love" as it would have been the perfect fade into the recently released greatest hits-type album. Quote

Why try climbing the ladder again? Barbra hasn't gotten another "People" or "Evergreen", the same goes for Whitney's IWALY. Please, don't get down to Mariah's level trying to do what supposedly sells. Just quality music, please! If she wants to experiment let her sing jazz and do the Callas project. Quote

Tricky Stewart and the dream produced two of the best songs on the album (single ladies, smash into you). I think Celine would be smart to go in that direction cause their really "in" right now and the ballads they produce suits her style. Here's the song smash into you, one of the best work yet. Quote
