Ok im sure I will find more fabric designs but on joann's website I found this design and want to see if this design would be alright for the quilt..

EDIT: I looked at the pic of the pieces you already got and I think you already have this one.. so im guessing something around this color scheme maybe lighter would be great..

1) Say congratulations to the baby and that we are happy for them

2) That the quilt is for the baby

3) Explain that the pieces of fabric have been sent from fans all over the world

4) A list of everyone's names

 

Does it need much else?

 

I'm sure there are plenty of people here who are good at writing letters (I'm not one of them LOL)

I'm usually pretty good at coming up with letters... or at least people tell me I am. I'll work on it during on of my creative nights, hehe. Keep brainstorming ideas, and I'll try to work everything in.

 

I'll try to figure out how to explain "threads" to someone who has probably never been on a forum before...

Explaining the forum-thread thing will be tricky.. I think we might have to write "threads/topics"... As in "Just like the threads/topics that hold an online community together, the cotton threads in this quilt represent the strong connections between fans in real life" (I realize that sounded very much like "Like saaands through the hourglass....", but you know what I mean. I think we have to add words to explain that we're not talking about the same threads )

^ Absolutely! But since it's an awfully wet season it'd be great if you could put the fabrics in a plastic bag first! Some envelopes are all soggy and disgusting by the time I get home LOL

Oh wow, what a morning (for me anyway)...

 

I think we've all read the sad news by now. They will undoubtedly try again,

but regardless of the attemps being successful or not (I pray they will be) this

project will go on (no pun intended). The card will have to wait a little I think,

until we know if we're dedicating it to the baby Angelil in heaven or on earth...

 

 

I don't feel the slightest discouraged regarding the baby quilt,

Celine must need our support and love now more than ever...

I think that if she does not become pregnant that this project should be stopped. It would be heartbreaking for her to receive this baby gift if she doesn't become pregnant.

 

If she doesn't get pregnant, then give her something non-baby related.

 

Oh and I don't know if you know it, but a quilt has been made allready by fans and given to her.

I tend to agree with you. I think we should wait and see what happens first but if she does not get pregnant we should come up with something else... I mean we don't have to stop the project, we can still do something... I'm sure we'll come up with something...

Maybe you continue with another type of gift? Receiving a baby blanket (or any other baby-related object) after learning that you are not pregnant is likely to cause a lot of pain.

 

I agree with angelil78 - I would reserve such a gift until after a baby was born. There is always that risk (unfortunately).

Yeah, a member wrote and told me she organized a group of people back in 1999. It's been ten years, so I don't see a problem. I'm sure she'll appreciate it

 

 

 

And if there is no baby we will figure out what to "call it". The "threads-symbolism" is still there, it's still a collaboration between fans.. We will have enough fabric to make a slightly larger piece, not a mini-sized one...

 

 

 

 

No matter the outcome we will send this

 

 

 

 

Edit: (But those who don't want to be part of this anymore, I can remove your fabric. You will of course not be forced to participate in something that you don't approve of)

Well even if we did continue with the quilt, it doesn't have to be a baby quilt, does it? It can just be a 'you're from Canada and it gets pretty darn cold there' quilt....or something.

People can never have too many quilts, specially in the cold Canada

 

The one I'm talking about was given to her in 2004. It was collaboration between fans in a different forum because of the 10th wedding anniversary (censorshipforummunity.com??). They got to give it to her backstage in Las Vegas. I think the main person behind it was called Marisa Zocco.

I also don't think this project should stop. But it's better to postpone it (and extend the deadline) until we know for sure that she does get pregnant again and it gets confirmed by HER... and if there is no news in 2 or 3 months time, then we can think of something non-baby related, but still do this I will send you my piece of fabric sometime in December, probably.

Sad, sad news. But I'm sending positive thoughts and prayers their way!

 

Keep me updated, and I'll either (hopefully) make a card congratulating them or it can just be showing our love and support.

 

If I may say, I think it would be a good idea (if this is still going to be a baby gift) that we wait until the baby is born before giving it to her. I don't think her "people" would pass along a baby gift to her if that was no longer the case, but just in case.
