QueenCeline Posted October 21, 2009 at 02:15 PM Posted October 21, 2009 at 02:15 PM Did anyone else notice that the guys (except for Raevaz) are not really interested in this project? I wonder if they are worried that Frida is going to ask them to sew something... lol... I'm here Quote Marc~~~~~~~~Taking Chances World TourSeptember 29, 2008December 16, 2008
Raevaz Posted October 23, 2009 at 03:59 AM Posted October 23, 2009 at 03:59 AM Ok just a few questions.. How long do you think it will take for my fabric to arrive when I send it from Houston and is there a fee or a charge for sending something overseas? Do I just ship it in a small box? I'll try to go get my fabric this weekend.. It usually doesn't take more than a week And I can't imagine any usps/fedex etc sending anything for free since it's how they make money - sending stuff. You don't need a box, an envelope is all you need! Ok thanks Frida! I'll hopefully buy fabric this weekend.. So a 20 inch by 20 inch piece is all we need? Just want to double check. Quote

ashleylovesceline Posted October 24, 2009 at 04:56 AM Posted October 24, 2009 at 04:56 AM I looked at paper, embellishments etc. to make the card -- the choices are kind of limited when you don't know if it's a boy or girl. Everything is either pink or blue!! But I'll get creative and come up with something, it's good I have some time. How do we feel about a mint green color? It's neutral, and I'm not a big fan of yellow which is the other option. Quote

Claudette Posted October 24, 2009 at 06:46 AM Posted October 24, 2009 at 06:46 AM It sounds good, but maybe you can also go with white, cream and beige so that the colour scheme of the card is the same as that of the quilt. Quote http://i993.photobucket.com/albums/af51/ClaudetteRobinson/esme.jpg

Yeah that's what I was thinking. White/cream and maybe silver/or gold text... ashleylovesceline Posted October 25, 2009 at 06:00 AM Posted October 25, 2009 at 06:00 AM (edited) Yeah, I was planning on using cream colored designs similar to what the quilt will look like... but I need another color to go with it. Frida: Do you know what color of thread you will use... or will that be white, beige, or cream as well? Unless I make something myself, which I could do... most of the embellishments come in pastel colors. I'll look at my other scrapbook stores when I get a chance and see if they have something different. Any thoughts as to what it should say on the front? Frida Posted November 3, 2009 at 04:16 PM Author Posted November 3, 2009 at 04:16 PM OMG thats such a Great Idea!!! im totally in! Cont on mee ill be sending u the fabric.....question:should ill send you the quarter or just the little square?? All info is in the first post of this thread What kind of fabric do I need? 100% cotton. Ask or search for quilt/patchwork fabric. Remember it needs to be white/off white/beige/creme. The pattern doesn't matter as long as it's on small (floral, dots, stripes, squares, batik etc) How much do I need to get? Again, this depends on the quilt pattern/number of participants, but "a fat quarter" should be enough (approximately 20x22 inches/50x55 cm or 44x10 inches/110x25 cm). That's easier to work with. Send me a PM to get the address Quote http://i129.photobucket.com/albums/p234/celinedion_56/tcc2copy3_zps08f18352.pnghttp://i129.photobucket.com/albums/p234/celinedion_56/tccgallery-1.png

Frida Posted November 8, 2009 at 04:36 PM Author Posted November 8, 2009 at 04:36 PM ^ Great tip! I think it should.. 1) Say congratulations to the baby and that we are happy for them2) That the quilt is for the baby3) Explain that the pieces of fabric have been sent from fans all over the world4) A list of everyone's names Does it need much else? I'm sure there are plenty of people here who are good at writing letters (I'm not one of them LOL) Quote http://i129.photobucket.com/albums/p234/celinedion_56/tcc2copy3_zps08f18352.pnghttp://i129.photobucket.com/albums/p234/celinedion_56/tccgallery-1.png
Claudette Posted November 8, 2009 at 04:47 PM Posted November 8, 2009 at 04:47 PM Maybe we can make a type poem out of it. I like Ashley's idea about the link between the thread that you use to sew everything together and the thread keeping fans together...
