OMG!!!!!! I literally almost fell out of my chair when I loaded the page and saw the news in red!!! My jaw dropped and my eyes got big. I am SO HAPPY!!!! for her. Words can't even express how happy and excited I am for her!!!! I've been praying for months that it works out. Now I want to tell everyone I know the good news!!! lol it feels like my friend is pregnant. I've imagined what the day would be like when the news broke and it's even better than I thought it would be and since I wasn't really a fan in 2000-01, it feels like I'm going to be part of this one! Oh I'm so happy for her!!!!!!!!! Of course, I had hoped to see her back on the stage next year, but this is way more important. No one deserves another child more than Celine. So happy for her and René. Can't wait to hear all the baby stories and how they shared the news to the family.

I just saw the news and I'm sooo excited!!! When I first learned that Celine is pregnant I was like OMG!!

I'm just sooo happy for the three of them and I hope that everythings goes well.

Wow!! This news has really made my day!! :) Its my 1st official post on this forum (normally a lurker!!) but I just had to write and say Big Congrats to Celine, Rene & RC!! Truly wonderful deserving news for a beautiful loving couple.

 

Like many of you, I have been looking forward to the Las Vegas return next year as I promised myself I would take my daughter who will be 4 1/2yr to see her (Big Fan as well) but this news beats everything!!!

 

Celine, we will happily await for your return, in the meantime, rest easy and have a healthy glowing pregnancy!! Now we have a long anticipated 9mths wait!!!

 

So so excited!! Its like hearing a member of family/friend who just announced their pregnancy!! :clap:

 

No wonder I had a dream about her last night.... (can't remember what the dream was but she was definately in my dreams!!)

I was expecting a little bit more of joy from celinedion.com but hey!! congrats to Celine and Rene, now the question is...boy or girl!

 

 

Both!!!!!! I know they are thrilled with one, as they should be, but man, if they had twins how amazing would that be?!?! :baby: :baby:

A spokeswoman from the office of Francine Chaloult, Dion's Montreal-based publicist, confirmed that the Quebec singer is expecting her second child, with the baby due next May.

 

Like her first child, eight-year-old Rene-Charles, the new baby was conceived with the aid of fertility treatments, working in tandem with a team of doctors in New York City.

 

Dion and her husband Rene Angelil only learned the good news Monday and, according to the spokeswoman, "Celine and Rene are full of joy."

 

Last year, Dion returned with her first world tour in several years and it was one of the year's top-grossing tours, ringing up $237 million at the cash register. She was recently ranked No. 3 in Forbes magazine's first list of top-earning Hollywood women.

 

Angelil's battle with cancer had raised doubts that the couple could conceive again.

MONTREAL — Celine Dion declared years ago that she had fertilized eggs at a New York fertility clinic — one would soon be born, and his “twin” would be stored there for awhile.

 

Now, eight years later, Dion’s long-awaited second child finally appears set to arrive.

 

The pop superstar and her husband are rejoicing that the couple will have their second baby in May after undergoing fertility treatments at a New York clinic.

 

“Celine is very, very happy,” Murielle Blondeau, a spokeswoman with the Bureau de Francine Chaloult, which handles media relations for the singer in Quebec, said Tuesday.

 

“Celine and Rene are full of joy. It’s been a big dream for Celine to have a second child.”

 

The sex of the baby was not immediately known. It was also not immediately clear whether it was the same embryo Dion spoke about in a television interview eight years ago.

 

In 2000, Dion told an interviewer that she was pregnant with her first child, Rene-Charles. She added that Rene-Charles already had a sibling in the works.

 

“I have a twin. It is called a laboratory twin,” Dion said in the interview.

 

“I do not know if it is good forever but I think it lasts for a very long time. I will go get it, that’s for sure.”

 

Dr. Seang Lin Tan, a world-renowned fertility expert at the McGill University Reproductive Centre, said frozen embryos can be kept for years before they are used. While the first and second child may be siblings, he said, it’s wrong to call them twins.

 

He noted that Dion’s last pregnancy caused a spike in interest in the procedure.

 

Dion’s first child, Rene-Charles, started private school this week in Florida.

 

Dion, 41, is the youngest of 14 children.

Exactly what I thought! Really happy though I hope the early announcement (if the due date is right) isn't tempting fate...Can't believe it, great news. I didn't follow her last pregnancy so looking forward to doing so this time :) No reports on British media yet, god I hate the UK sometimes!

I was just taking a bath earlier and just thinking wouldn't that be nice if they announced she's pregnant this evening... Because I'm leaving for the seaside tomorrow morning and I won't have access to Internet and these kind of news always comes out when I'm offline. Anyway, it's a silly story.. :giggle: I'm just so happy for them! :wub: She wanted another baby so much and there's no one that deserves a baby more, she's the best mom. And she's due in May. I'm born in May too ^_^ I'm a happy little camper tonight! :kicking:
