I liked this song when I heard it the first time, but have to say I don't hear an ounce of Unison influence. It's hardly an up tempo song, and Unison is one of Celine's more up tempo songs. What's the comparison based on? It doesn't even sound date to me.

I really love this song, it feels like it has a lot of power, with the vocals and the strong, slow beat. The strings give it that extra kick. I was keen to watch the music video, but although, visually, it looks quite dramatic, I don't think it quite works, I also think they needed to do a little more to tie Leona into the story line...

I think Leona is great but she is to much a copycat of Mariah she will never beat the original but she´s a nice girl and i hope her album will be something diffirent from a Mariah 90´s stuff.

She did a wonderful job on Celine´s All By Myself she did her own version of the song.

I think she sounded amazing, she's far better than any of the contestants so far. Although it's early days so I'm intertested to see how they'll do.

I really don't know what to think of her.

 

I thought the X Factor today was rubbish, and obviously Leona was going to shine compared to the other performances.

 

I think she's a bit clumsy, what with her swaying, quivering lips, and poor microphone control - and I don't think she has a powerful voice, or a unique, special voice. I just think she appeared to be good tonight because everyone else was so bad.

 

Bring on next week, and let's see Ms Dion mop the floor with Leona.

Leona did outclass the entire field on tonight X Factor but she's got to quickly learn to have some stage presence as her voice just isn't enough in terms of her stage performance.

She's been singing professionally for less than one year, so I think she's doing okay in terms of her performance. She'll get better, I'm sure. But I really disagree about her voice, I think it's definitely special. And if someone appears good because the others were bad, doesn't that mean they are more talented? You seem to saying the fact they're bad is making her seem more talented than she really is when infact the reason all this years contestants seem so bad in comparison is because she is lightyears ahead of them in terms of vocal quality and ability.

I suppose it's inevitable that Leona would be compared to this years contestants but the gulf in class really was very very wide. This years contestants really need to pull it together and quickly otherwise they will fade into obscurity. Some of tonights performances were woeful.

OMG that shows what an appearance on X Factor can do. I would say Take That are by far more popular than Leona. If they had been on X Factor..... - I hope it does wonders for Celine - although her airplay is soooo low here.

 

I do like Leona but I cant be a fan of her because as much as her voice is amazing there is no interesting sounds in it for me. I like a voice to be different, instantly recognisable. Leona while very very good is just like a normal soul voice to me. Although very very good. But I prefer Toni Braxton thats a unique voice.

 

Also she needs to learn stage presence she is pretty but has no sex appeal - she has very little interesting to say in interviews as yet. it really is only her voice that is carrying her.

Leona Lewis (not surprisingly) is at number one!

 

X Factor winner Leona Lewis has topped the singles chart with the biggest week one sales this year.

 

Her song, Bleeding Love, was the first from her debut album and it outsold the rest of the top five put together, with 218,000 copies.

 

She beat Take That's Rule The World into second place and last week's number one, Sugababes' About You Now into fourth.

 

McFly's The Heart Never Lies was third while Mark Ronson's Valerie was fifth.

 

'Absolutely thrilled'

 

Ronson's single, a version of the Zutons track, features Amy Winehouse on vocals.

 

X Factor judge Simon Cowell said of Lewis's achievement: "The sales are incredible. I'm absolutely thrilled for Leona, she thoroughly deserves it."

 

Britney Spears's Gimme More fell three places to number six, while Oasis's Lord Don't Slow Me Down was at number 10.

 

Van Morrison reached his highest position in the album chart at number two with Still on Top - The Greatest Hits.
