Bellamy Posted July 24, 2007 at 05:17 PM Posted July 24, 2007 at 05:17 PM According to me, that girl has a more hideous voice than miss Mariah Carey... Loki Posted July 24, 2007 at 08:12 PM Posted July 24, 2007 at 08:12 PM I hate it when 'fans' of other singers come here and register, just to 'defend' their own 'idol' LOL, 'Fans defending their idol' actually I think that sums up this whole thread in a nutshell. Quote

Loki Posted July 25, 2007 at 11:11 AM Posted July 25, 2007 at 11:11 AM I would. Silly bint that she is! Just kidding. I like Leona actually, dunno what happened to her though. It's like she's vanished! They have taken her out of circulation for a year to record the album, they want time to shake off the Reality tag. She has been in Atlanta recording with Dallas Austin now she is in LA recording with Jimmy Jam and Terry Lewis. She will be heading back to Atlanta soon. Its very difficult trying to get any information because she has been told to keep a low profile. But some of the producers have been blogging about her because they have been so blown away by her in the studio. Now Clive Davis has heard what she sounds like on record and with new material, they have put a press release on the J records website. Her début album is to be giving a global release, which I think may be a first for a débutante, even Whitney didn't get that. Still the album may not be ready until December and maybe into 08, which is very sad for us fans who can't wait. Still there are lots of pre-X factor tracks floating about on the web, she is a very talented songwriter and has got lots of demo tracks. We have been hoovering a lot of them up. Some are very experimental in lots of genres and tempos from R&B, trance, hip hop to straight pop, some have great hooks and are chartworthy even in their current form (look for "Paradise" or "Fool" on youtube). Some that we know exist (because they are on her acoustic set) we believe have been taken down by SONY deliberately for inclusion in her new album. Quote

Love, Posted July 26, 2007 at 07:35 PM Posted July 26, 2007 at 07:35 PM (edited) There are people that as soon as they open they mouth, you can tell if they are destined to be remembered as great singers, great poets, great speakers, great actors, and other greats. It's because you feel a connection with them. You get intrigued by them. They seem important and special to you. I put myself through watching five videos of Leona online. I didn't feel anything. She does not have that connection. She does not have soul. It appears that she's a good karaoke singer, but not a performer. She is not made to last. Sorry, me bad I begin to understand the people on this forum now, you don't care about a singers vocal abilities as long as they look good on stage. Now it all makes sense. where did we say that? of course we care about singers vocal abilities! That's why we admire Celine so much! But that doesn't mean that we can't enjoy other artists who are less vocally gifted! Like i said, but you seem to have conveniently ignored that what Love, said was that he likes to "feel" something in an artist performance, whether that's powerful singing, incredible dancing or fantastic scenery. The Spice Girls are certainly not powerful singers, but they are great dancers and have fantastic scenery (i saw them on tour back in the 90s). What Love, is saying is that Leona wasn't great at All By Myself vocally in his view (which i too agree with), there was no stage presence again his view (which actually i agree with again). There, that's what we're getting at! There was nothing in that performance that made us go WOW! stevo Posted September 16, 2007 at 07:54 PM Posted September 16, 2007 at 07:54 PM I like this girl. I'm gonna devote myself to her as my second favourite female singer. Well, we'll see- but I like the single and I voted for her a gazillion times on X Factor. I wish she'd duetted with Celine on her debut album. THAT would have brought Celine back in the UK. Shaun Posted September 16, 2007 at 09:00 PM Posted September 16, 2007 at 09:00 PM Just listened to it and i'm pleasantly surprised. It's a good song and she sounds great. Anyone can bring out a single or two though, it's where she'll be in 3-4 years time that will matter. LVCeline Posted September 30, 2007 at 05:05 PM Posted September 30, 2007 at 05:05 PM I liked this song when I heard it the first time, but have to say I don't hear an ounce of Unison influence. It's hardly an up tempo song, and Unison is one of Celine's more up tempo songs. What's the comparison based on? It doesn't even sound date to me. Quote
