Koolan, Celine was on before Cher

It seemed like Celine is at home with her family just watching everything unfold. I never want her to feel as much pressure as she talked about Michael being under :( I would rather her tale a decade to herself than cause her stress. Cher is talking now. She's kinda making me laugh.

I was really hoping she'd be on via satalite but she wasn't. She just talked about how much pressure Michael was under since he was young, he was her idol, she met him,has an autopgraph, talked about RC listening to Michael's music and disovering him through RC again, how he'd never die and just basically how much pressure Michael was under and that she wanted to see him in London in concert and he came to her show in Vegas and when she told people he was there they went nuts. Cher talked about him too she said he had some very stranger behavior when she met him when he was older....

oh and I almost forgot, Celine said several times the news really hadn't sank it that he was dead.

I missed the first couple seconds of Celine but got close to 5 minutes of her talking about Michael. She was speaking like any other fan would, and you can tell she's still shocked by the news, as are all of us.

Thanks MrTim for uploading :flowers:

"she talked about how much pressure he was under since he was young" sort of like her life huh? Its truly sad about MJ he was a legend. I really respect that Celine was able to come on and speak with such short notice. She really has such a big heart it amazes me every day.

Also, this news has sort of been lost after MJ's passing, but let us not forget about Farah Fawcett, another person from the entertainment industry, also passed away today. May they both rest in peace.

I'm just glad he didn't ask her to sing..... Gah like with Katrina I coulda strangled him.

What she said about Rene Charles discovering Michael by watching the reoprts of his death was so prophetic.

Had to laugh at Larry King asking Cher what would have made MJ want to change his appearence so drastically. Yes that's right he said that to Cher! ha ha.

I was thinking the same thing about her being asked to sing. What would she have done? Fly? Thank Goodness he didn't put her in that position again!

Here is an article I found online:

Celine Dion: Michael Jackson Was My 'Idol'

Celine Dion shares some of her memories of the late Michael Jackson with ET.

"I am so devastated by this terrible news," Celine says. "From the beginning of my career, he was my idol in show business. He was a genius and an incredible artist!!

"I remember when I was growing up and watching him on TV, and all his videos... I had his poster on my wall...he was so amazing...his singing, his writing, his dancing.

"We had the same record company, and they knew I was a huge fan, so when things started to happen for me, they arranged for us to meet. I was so nervous, and so excited at the same time, and Michael was so nice. He autographed one of his hats for me.... I was so thrilled.

"Years later, he came to see my Las Vegas show and we spent some time together....and we were really looking forward to seeing his show in London. It's unbelievable that he's no longer with us. It still hasn't sunk in.

"I guess we're just finding out what happened, but all I can say is that he must have been under an enormous amount of pressure... to do the shows, and to keep on top of everything, plus this was going to be his big comeback. This is a lot of pressure and it can be overwhelming for anyone. I'm sure it was just too much to handle.

"Right now, along millions and millions of others I am so sad....and I just want to send my prayers and love to Michael's family. I can't imagine how difficult this is for them....to lose someone so special. And it's the same for everyone in the world who loses a loved one. It just keeps reminding us of how precious life is, and that we never know when it's our time. God Bless his soul."

The death of the KING OF POP and Celine commenting on it... It is just so sad.

Good night all. :(

EDIT : Celine says she was looking forward to seeing his show in London! :( :( If she actually came to London on her time off...!!

She really idolized him, I had no idea she was such a big fan.

As she talked about how much presure he was under trying to please his fans and his family, I could not help but hope that Celine is taking care of herself and that she does not go down the same path he has gone (as someone has already stated). We think because she appears so healthy and in good shape on stage that nothing can be wrong but as the doctors have said, cardiac arrest can happen all of a sudden. With her being sick so often (as has been mentioned in another forum) her body needs time to replenish after having done so much hard work lately (and now she's talking about a baby). Thankfully, she has not been surrounded by the scandal and controversy that Michael was and endured but as Chuck wrote in his blog about what Linda Perry said about the song "My Love" that she not let the pressure/demands of her fans come before her personal health. I am thankful that she does have her family's support because it definitely does make it difference and I am willing to wait for her next project as long as her health is certain (as much as it can be).

My condolences to the Jackson family

I'm sure Celine will be fine, she has the best doctors and takes great care of her health. She wouldn't risk her health, if she was under to much stress she would take a step back and get things in check. She would take sometime off, which is what she is doing now. I'm sure she won't do IVF until she is completely one hundred percent well.

What does LCN stand for...? Celine made a statement about MJ
"Lfe is too short to wake up with regrets. So believe that everything happens for a reason. If you get a second chance, grab it with both hands. If it changes your life, let it. Nobody said life was easy. They just promised it would be worth it"

Wow, she say EXACTLY the same thing in french and english! lol

May he Rest In Peace. I feel so sad for his family, friends and fans. This is really shocking.

It was nice of Celine to publicly express her condolences.

Can someone possibly record this and type the statement that Celine gives on here for those to read that do not give Larry King? This is so sad. When I heard this, about Michael, I immediately thought, I wonder what Celine would say. This is so heartbreaking. Farrah and Michael in one day. Two icons of our time have tragically passed way too soon and they will not be forgotten. They were two amazing, loving people and are now angels watching over us all. My prayers and thoughts are with both the families.

After listening to her phone interview with Larry King, it seems to me much of what she's saying about his pressures is coming from what she feels about the pressure in her life...and that saddens me. She was saying that 'he' dealt with it since he was five years old, always having to impress his family, friends, and fans, and now it came to the point of always trying to surpass himself and it just became to much for him. Anyway, thanks so much for posting the interview. It was so nice of her to share her thoughts.
