[Rumor] New Christmas album

I think if it happens (which btw we didn't get a confirmation that this is a christmas album yet, just an album out in october/november which could be the live cd) its going to end up being almost a best of christmas songs. With "rare songs" that we've heard plenty of times. Celine's on break, I doubt she'll be recording anything new. We might get a few new rejected songs from TAST and maybe one new song, but I'm not going to get too excited about this until I see a tracklist. I'd rather have her take a full on break than record something new anyway. If she were to record something new on her BREAK, do you really think she'd waste the time doing another christmas album? Who knows though, maybe they got the idea from Josh Groban because his christmas album outsold her regular one two years ago. I hope this is just the live album release date. It makes sense to release it around the holidays.

As you can read above, I asked my contact person at Sony specifically about a Christmas album. And he replied it is scheduled for late October. So it's a Christmas album, indeed. :thumbsup2:

My favourite xmas song is ''Fairytail Of New York'' and its huge in pubs/clubs @ xmas time in Ireland, but I can't imagine Celine singing some of the lines of that song some how, lmao!

Silent night, would be nice to have on the album also...

Am I the only one who doesn't want a 100% "new" album? I want to hear her sing some classics

I absolutely love love this song, but I think it's too "new" to be covered by Céline right now, it was released by Faith only before last Christmas, so I would like it to belong to Faith for a little longer while. Though Céline would very likely do an amazing version of it, but I'd prefer it to happen a little later on! :thumbsup2:

For traditional songs, listen to Céline's first 2 Christmas albums. She has already recorded MANY of them.

Exactly! I'd love to have all those as original versions by her as well, but it would be amazing to hear her sing them again now as an adult.. I too believe they'd be even more amazing! :wub:

I support a cover of O Come O Come Emmanuel by Céline, betweek the traditionals :in_love:

But of course, let's hope there are also some up tempo tracks in the album, like Christmas Eve and I Met An Angel :wub:

Oh My Dion!!!!!!!! I cannot wait for this. this is amazing!!!!!!! I'm gonna start making my christmas list out for this year and this is going on the top of it. New Celine christmas cd. I' was just listening to Christmas Eve the day before yesterday!

Any album with new songs/covers by Céline IS great! And I love very much TAST, so... perfect news!!! :w00t: :clap:

btw, I hope there's "Amazing Grace" on the album... Love that song... :wub: That would be my choice! But no covers of MC "AIWFCIY" please!!! I don't want Céline to cover any Carey's song... she deserves to cover something much better!

Although I like the song, but not so much the singer...

I also would love to see "I Met An Angel (on Xmas Day)" and "Do You Hear What I Hear" re-recorded for the album! :in_love:

Oh my, some of those songs would be SO awful to have on a Christmas album. The "French" one is just songs from her first 2 Xmas albums, songs she did as a kid. They're perfect the way they are.

I'm pretty sure it's gonna be in English. Sony wants to maximize the holiday sales potential.

no offence but i think fans choosing the songs would be a disaster haha.

I really hope there are some good quality original songs on there - like the last one - some good up-beat ones especailly - that would be great

Its risky business doing another one tho! the other one was actually really good and trying to repeat that could be disasterous??

I think Xmas album's a good idea. That way Celine won't have to promote it and Sony can make loads through sales for this and TC dvd while she's on her break. It still keeps Celine's name around. Best of both worlds.
