[Rumor] New Christmas album

Where do you guys have the info about a Christmas album that was planned for 2014? I never heard that before

 

Rene mentioned it when they scrapped the Water & A Flame

Album concept that Céline wasn’t happy with…half covers half new thing….then mentioned maybe releasing a Christmas album instead. I’m sure, contractually Celine was due to release a new album anyway since it was like 5-6 yrs since Taking Chances. Then magically Sia offered Loved Me Back To Life and that “modern” approach of more new fresh songs was the direction they went with instead, which I think made Celine happier with…they kept @17, Overjoyed, and the other 2 boring songs as bonuses.

yeah, I never heared about that before. Its really interesting. So it looks like they might have a full Christmas album in the vault. But would that make sense to make her record a full album and then keep it hidden?

I think it was from Billboard Magazine if people are that bored and need to verify it. I definitely remember reading it somewhere. Maybe on Katie Couric or something too. This was when Rene overspoke and said more than normal and Celine kind of stepped in and took over. It’s somewhere if you really need to know it was said.

No I dont have doubt with EVERYTHING! Do not put words in peoples mouths!

 

BUT with this situation, there is NOWHERE LISTED about a previoysly unreleased Christmas album! I have been a fan for over 20 years & I have NEVER heard of a WHOLE unreleased album of hers at this point (yes Celine has quite a few unreleased SONGS, but not whole albums... 2 totally DIFFERENT things!) I mean, it makes NO SENSE! why would Sony have Celine record a whole album, but instead of releasing it, just SHELF IT! Like why? Its just one of the dumbest decisions I have ever heard! Sorry but I gotta say it, totally dumb!

Usually when a new topic/discussion begins, the “burden of proof” belongs to the original poster, who offers a piece of evidence, i.e. an article, a photo, a video clip.

 

It’s a little backwards to suggest this album is common knowledge, when no one remembers exactly from where they heard it or can be bothered to locate & share the source.

 

I’m not saying it’s definitively made up… it’s possible they recorded an entire album when her voice was in prime/near-prime condition, and shelved it so they can release it when she stops performing …

 

We know they filmed all of her tours & residencies, and then didn't release those either. But we have PROOF of that : there are photos of the “filming tonight’s concert” signs, fan cam shots of filming crews, loads of HD video clips released by her team under Aldo’s direction (remember the annual retrospectives they posted for a few years?), the leaked DVD clips, etc.

 

If we’ve learned anything about Team Céline since 2020, it’s that they feel ZERO obligation, even under pressure from disappointed fans across the globe, to open the vaults for a very long time — if ever.

 

So we can speculate all we want, but what’s the point?

Just like when she released One Heart just before starting her residency in Vegas. She was still promoting A New Day Has Come.

 

This time she’s returning in Vegas in November still promoting Courage. A Christmas album would be just perfect!

thats interesting, cause normally we (the fans) would make a huge deal out of this once it became known and there would be huge discussions on the forum, but somehow it went totally unnoticed

Ihre schönsten Weihnachtslieder was released in 2007 (the album cover is horrible) and also the TAST re-release. She was at the Rockefeller Christmas in New York and sang some Christmas songs. So maybe they planned the release of the new Christmas album in 2007 but cancelled it ??? And with the success of the Buble Christmas album, they planned the release in 2014 but also cancelled it.

Yes you are right, the rumor was from 2009, so maybe they planned the release for Christmas 2009 (and not 2007), but cancelled it. But the re-release was in 2007. And they also cancelled it in 2014, because of Rene's illness.

That's so strange. They had plenty of time to release that Noel album, e.g. between 2010 and 2013 before LMBTL was finally finished. I wonder what stopped them from the release. And I will never stop thinking about what prevented them from releasing the 2016 summer tour on CD/DVD. that‘s what I thought. The CD/DVD was probably already pressed and maybe even distributed, but got cancelled last minute. I wonder what they did with all these copies.

I want the 1998 voice of Do You Hear What I Hear without Rosie! I was surprised why she sang that on the special since it wasn’t on the album? Guessing because of Rosie, it’s a more fun song, and she probably recorded also but Sony shelved it since it’s Whitney’s biggest Christmas song. Shame!

 

Also a version of Little Drummer Boy and Away in A Manger would be interesting!

 

So many songs in the vault and we’ll never see it without René anymore…Céline’s a bit lost without him.
