Teodora Posted April 6, 2009 at 09:52 PM Posted April 6, 2009 at 09:52 PM I simply adore it! I love it how she keeps it low until the middle and then lets go. She sounds great, different and very.... free. Usually, she does what producers tell her, when she's in the studio. But here you can actually hear how much she enjoyed it, how much of herself it's put into the song. It's like she's just jaming with Zachary, or like one of those sound bites from her sound checks, where we hear her do whatever she pleases and not stick to the songs' melodic lines necessarly. I just love it! Hope we'll get a video of the recording session, that'll be amazing! Quote

CelineTheBest5 Posted April 6, 2009 at 10:29 PM Posted April 6, 2009 at 10:29 PM I like it!! Beautiful song, beautiful lyric! And Celine's voice is amazing as well! Quote https://www.facebook...linedionbrazil/
fyoung98 Posted April 6, 2009 at 10:45 PM Posted April 6, 2009 at 10:45 PM I like it. I didn't know who Zachary Richards was at first. When I heard him sing with Celine at the Plains of Abraham concert, I detected a Cajun sound in his pronunciation (I believe I even mentioned it on the forum) and I found it quite interesting. I guess my "ear" is better than I thought Anyway, I was hoping to hear them do another song together after hearing them sing "Promesse Cassee" (forgive my spelling please) and my wish has come true. They sound wonderful together in my opinion. Many of you are right too! She does sound a lot freer in her vocals. She sounds like she is having unrestricted fun. Shamrock_1982 Posted April 6, 2009 at 11:04 PM Posted April 6, 2009 at 11:04 PM (edited) After a few dozen listens on repeat, I have to conclude.......... that yeah its really growing on me, and I really like it!!! So much so, that I think its worth a day of Celine's 18 months off, if they decide to release this as a single, to shoot a music video for it .... Darren. LVCeline Posted April 6, 2009 at 11:38 PM Posted April 6, 2009 at 11:38 PM Her voice is completely throaty, I don't know how nobody hears that. Either that or they don't care! I don't know, it's a different song so I appreciate that, but her voice is just not doing it for me. She warbles frequently. And the yips at the end just don't sound right. Sorry! I wish they recorded any of the the same songs they sang at the Sur le Plaines concert, her voice was just perfection there. Quote

This is country-folk, a very different sound for Céline but very suiting I feel. I think she sounds amazing in it, free and great as ever using her lower register. I also love the fact that Céline is exploring other path, she can sing so many things and those english lyrics are very interesting too. I like the song and I love their voices together. In fact I just adore this collaboration with Zachary, very warm and very refreshing at the same time. Thanks Zachary for asking Céline eventhough you thought your cd was already complete. You made the right choice. Aww when destiny calls....I've always liked Zachary, I adore Céline and the song is wonderful so.. I'm in heaven really:wub: "When you sing once with Céline...you want to sing again with her" : Zachary Hey Zach! I understand how you feel completely I knew this collaboration on the Plains of Abraham would make you want to collaborate with Céline again....I was so sure about it and I am SO glad about it..Nothing happens for nothing! When she doesn't work with american producers, her french accent is just tooo strong. Me no likey. I definetely don't agree with you but anyone can like or dislike it and I respect your right to express that but....I do find your comment about american producers very strange considering David Foster is canadian(not american) and he has produced most of Céline's english songs and greatest hits throughout her carreer as most people know.As for Larry Klein I didn't know the man but I understand he worked a lot with legendary Joni Mitchell also(whom I love) but who can't speak a single word in english I don't think(Klein neither I don't think so). As for Zachary, he is an american, the only one who can speak french other than Céline but....who cares....I find your comment bizarre to say the least... Anyway did anyone know of Larry Klein's work before this? He seems to have won some American music awards in the past...he seems to be well knowed in the music business. I think I'm getting addicted to this song can't stop listening to it. I guess I'll go buy Zachary's cd tomorrow. Edited April 7, 2009 at 05:23 AM by Lou555 Quote
autumnskies00 Posted April 7, 2009 at 05:59 AM Posted April 7, 2009 at 05:59 AM I luuuurve this song. I like when she does songs without belting. The simpler notes just show how natural and beautiful her voice is without forcing all those high notes (although those always sound amazing too haha). It sort of reminds me of the tone of her voice when she sang "At Seventeen". She should do more like it. GREAT GREAT GREAT. I have to say though, I don't like the "oh oh"'s at the end. The song is just so mellow, it seems kind of out of place. Its very countryish/folkish how it tells the story. Quote http://i20.photobucket.com/albums/b213/autumnskies00/siggy1-2.jpg
Alex_Incognito Posted April 7, 2009 at 07:36 AM Posted April 7, 2009 at 07:36 AM I love her accent---and I appreciate accents---we know where she comes from with it. Though, in a new movie over here in france, called SAFARI, there is a great comedy moment making fun of Québec accents. Quote "People pay 20-25 dollars to see you."- Céline Dion, 1990

stevo Posted April 7, 2009 at 08:59 AM Posted April 7, 2009 at 08:59 AM It's a bit daft to complain about her accent- that is her accent as she isn't American and she's letting it free. I love it. The ending is amazing. Quote
