Jean Lapointe has just ended the recording of the songs of the next album and it is in spring that the 73-year-old senator will throw this opus of which he is very proud.

The album count eleven new songs.

Rooms are mostly written and composite by Lapointe. He promises a current sound, something well licked and even violins on some melodies. They also speak about nice surprises. The senator has entrusted recently that he recorded a duet with Céline Dion and other one with his friend Jean-Pierre Ferland. But on these two points, it will be necessary to wait for details.

A duet with a 73 year old man? senator? Oh well :ermm:

I suppose Céline will wait until she is 70 to sing with really young and popular singers in her twenties

:hmm: Sounds interesting... Never heard of this guy though...

Maybe it's a song Jean-Pierre Ferland wrote for Céline's next album in 2010 and will be included in his album now. Just kidding, I have no idea! Hoping for a new song, though. :D

I'm sure you've heard "Les Fleurs Malades"

Celine sang the song with J.Lapointe in 1985? It was some kind of telethon..

That's cool. I hope J. Lapointe's first single will be the song with Celine Dion and hopefully becomes a hit.

What about Celine&Obama duet, when will it be released???.....Fall 2010? :P

Hope they will not sing about financial crisis... :P

:hmm: Well duet with Mr. Aznavour(who is also pretty in age) is magnificent so there is possibility that this duet could also be!

Mmm.. well, let's just say that Jean Lapointe doesn't have the voice of Charles Aznavour. I like Jean Lapointe but he isn't the best singer there is... But it should be interesting anyhow.

Interesting. Since he's an older gentlemen we can expect this song to be a ballad. Wonder how it sounds.

Jean Lapointe was on a TV program here in Quebec last week I think and he talked about the duet with Celine. He actually read the lyrics of the song. There's the word "water" in the title and it talks about environment.

The album and the duet both called "L'eau".

It's the 3rd track there, and will release 28, April 2009. :w00t:

One week and a day to wait. :glare:

Please, Celine doesn't need to record hits with modern day singers that probably won't stick around (where's Clive Griffen? Billy Newton-Davis? Dan Hill?). With Lapointe, it will be magic.

Why would the song be for Rene? Am I missing something?

Btw this isn't the scary guy that I don't like, is it? Too many French singers, I get confused, sorry! :(

L'eau = water

René always has a bottle of water in his hands....
