Producers/Writers for a new album

It's funny that people always want Celine to try new things and become relevant, yet we all desire more than anything for her to return to her Falling Into You glory days and do those same types of songs she's already done. I'm included in that group. I get sick at the thought of Timbaland producing a song for her. She is best at ballads and that's my personal preference. I don't like heavy beats and weird new styles. But that's just my personal opinion! I would love David Foster, and Diann Warren, and Jim Steinman back on her side to produce songs. Most of her best songs are produced or written by one of those 3.

 

I, personally, would hate it if she went back to the 90's style. That was then, she has been there and done that. Truthfully, I think the music she makes in the 2000's(and any of the French music) is more of a representation of what she is feeling and what she wants(it could obviously be more so if she was involved more than just singing the songs, but that's another thing). In the 90's, i'm not saying she didn't like the songs......I don't know how to explain it, she liked the songs but I don't think they truly represented her and how she feels. Certain ones defiantly did, but I think, for example, Let's Talk About Love was very producer-driven to give the public what was popular with Celine at the time: Her ballads.

 

Of course I love her singing ballads, but I always have admired her mid-tempo/uptempo songs a little more just because it shows her versatility. I think she should do ballads like My Immortal and The Reason I Go On, moody(no pun intended from my last post here) songs. In the 90's it seemed more about hitting the notes, and now she can just live through the words and the melodies. I think if more fresh songs were released and promoted well, Celine would be more popular again. We keep seeing Sony release the most Celine-ish songs on albums(Taking Chances which is very classic Celine for about the first minute, and Alone which is another classic Celine-ish song with a sort of twist), and they should take Chances and promote the fresher songs more. The public would see she's more than the power ballad TPOL/IACBTMN/BYLM/TYLM/MHWGO lady.

I would love something in the style of "Hot n Cold" by Katy Perry, or "Disturbia" by Rihanna. She should do more songs that have specific meanings that aren't necessarily about "love", per se. Basically, for her next english album she should really "take chances" and try new styles like hardcore chic rock, and r&b. Additionally I would love at least one techno song like "Dragostea din tei" by O-zone (aka, the "numa numa" song) or "Everytime We Touch" by Cascada. By the way, is a new album being made or at least going in that direction? If so, keep us all posted.

 

 

HEck ya that would be awesome. CELINE singing the numa numa song. Awesomeness. I personally would love the techno side of her or maybe sing hard rock. NOt scremo just lots of Electric guitar and her singing. She is the ownly one i would trust singing evanescence songs besides the original group. I did do a tribute vid to celine with the numa song the english version though

OOOOOORRRR... just beg of Phil Spector to finish the wall of sound project with her. No skizo, all over the place, too many different styles album for a change, but one whole, critically aclaimed, relevant album.

The old producers that she used to work did great songs, but they can't do anything that she needs now. She and René have to find a way to bring her to TOP again.

 

David Foster and Diane are good but they are always doing the same king of stuff.

 

Taking chances was good, but we need something really "Taking Chances" and when they find that formula Celine can top #1 again.

 

In my opinion she is very good improving, if she is good improving she can be good doing her own songs, she might need someone to help her doing that "keys" that she can't do alone.

For her French career, she should do more collaborations with JJG and Venuruso(probably didn't spell it right), and maybe experiment a little there. Her French releases have always been versatile and deep, so I don't have to worry much there.

 

For her Englishc areer, I want her to do music like Evanescence's Fallen album. I think she should collaborate exclusivly with Ben Moody and David Hodges. They should be her exclusive writers/producers, and maybe she can go in and co-write some stuff with them. Her English albums have always been about many producers producing one or two songs, so this album could be just two people making music with Celine. I so want Celine to do songs like Bring Me to Life, Everybody's Fool, Taking Over Me, Whisper and My Immortal. The Moody/Hodges tracks on TC started that, and I really want them to become her exclusive collaborators. Then she can dye her hair a really dark color(think a little darker than the Live video, since I think that's her natural hair color), start making good music videos, promoting her new music, and leaving the old pre-1999 hits behind her.

I'd like to see what Céline would come up with if left to her own musical taste and instincts. In the "making of" videos I've seen of Céline in the recording studio, her occasional comments about a song (she liked both “Us” and “On ne change pas”) make me think that she should take a more active role in the selection and production of her recordings.

 

I am always impressed by Céline’s musical intelligence, something for which she is generally under-recognized, and I’d love for her to make a recording that is both personal and artistic, one that breaks away from the Team Céline tried-and-true formula (one of this, one of that) of the past.

 

Whatever she does, though, I hope it’s something that she is ultimately pleased with – yes, even if the result doesn’t sell thirty-five million copies. After all, Céline has given her fans an amazing amount of herself over the years, and I think it is only fair that fans allow her more artistic freedom in her future projects.

I was listening to Bewitched, Bothered and Bewildered the other day, and I'd love her to do a standards album and work with the guy who produced Cyndi Lauper's album At Last. They were album to do a standards album, but still bring something original to the songs and Cyndi never sounded better.
