Just got back from London, and I noticed in the HMV in Oxford Street that the album 'Celine Dion' had a catalogue number of 471508 9. Normally it's a 2 on the end, so I've just checked in the Collector's Guide. All Celine albums sold in the UK seem to be Columbia rather than Epic, and for the Columbia release it says it's either a silver CD or a yellow CD.

 

Does anyone have pictures of the disc of this 9 version?

Looking at my personal collection, 471508 9 (on barcode: 5 099747 150890) is an epic release with Introduction as a seperate track and WDMHBN included as track 15. (On the booklet & back insert, introduction is not track numbered, LCMM is listed as track 1) The disc is plain silver with some blue bands, nothing really special about the disc Tim. I have never seen a yellow disc for Celine Dion. (Untill 2 seconds ago!, though that looks a bit beige on the photo)

 

In Australia 471508 9 was also used as the cat number for the 2 disc. (On barcode: 9 399747 150897)

 

All Celines UK releases were Epic, not Columbia.

tim, I think that album was an 'import' and not a UK pressing

I know all Celine's UK releases were Epic, not Columbia, but I have never seen an Epic Celine album in any HMV. They are all Columbia. The only Epic album I have is the 2002 Limited Edition of ANDHC.

Thanks Davey. Yeah, as it's Columbia it was obviously from Europe. I really want the whole clear plastic case versions of Celine's albums, I hate the ones with the black disc tray! Does the original 471508 2 have a clear plastic case now too? I noticed in HMV that D'eux and S'il suffisait d'aimer do, but the numbers stayed the same, so that's why I asked about this 471508 9 version of Celine Dion...

the silver version i think you are on about is the plain cd with the coloured blocks like the SSD album

this is the two cd aus version that on the cd back cover is quoted as being 471508 9 but on the cd and the lyric page is actually quoted as 471508 2.....the cd here would be the silver cd i mentioned above

I only want 1 version of Celine Dion, so do you think the yellow disc 471508 9 edition is the best as it's not a boring old silver disc and it's got a clear case?

i would go for which ever one you prefer but i would check ebay first as you would be able to pick up a rarer one off there for about the same price......! thats what i did to get all my different editions

Actually, the silver one you posted is Epic, so maybe that's the one I saw in HMV and so it could have been from the UK after all.

 

Can someone tell me if the normal 471508 2 edition now comes in a clear plastic case or does it still have the black disc tray?

Wait, if you look closely at the yellow listing on ebay, the disc is Epic too!!!

 

So 471508 9 was released as:

 

Epic

Silver disc

Yellow disc

 

Columbia

Yellow disc

Silver disc?? - does anyone have this?

 

I'm assuming all of these are in a clear case...

edit: just saw that it was from 1997

 

the only stupid thing is that when you want to add the cd e.g. to itunes, it has the intro as first track and the others follow, so every track has the wrong title...

After realising the yellow disc edition on eBay was Epic, I've spent ages trying to find the Columbia yellow disc edition - like Vroni's. But HMV.co.uk doesn't say the label, and Amazon says it's Epic but they could be wrong...

 

Seeing as all of my other albums are Columbia, I want to get the Columbia release for this one too.

 

So does anyone know where I can easily find the Columbia release?

Yes just been looking on there and I've found quite a few! So I've emailed them all to ask if they have the yellow disc.

My version of the double is the same as Blowingbubbles photo (red Columbia main disc ...08 2 & blue epic bonus disc samp424), even down to double being etched on the black CD tray

 

That had been puzzling me too, why it was a columbia cd in an epic case. Glad Davey & BB have same one, I was wondering had it been mixed up somehow. Did you know it was different CD's when you bought the second copy of this double Davey? (If not, why did you buy a second copy?) What is the cat no. of your main disc? ...08 2?

well it was only 99 au cents, and i thought it was the single disc version, when I opened it, I was sad to see it was the double one, but when I saw it had two epic cds I was like the number of the main disc is 08 2, but the introduction it says something like; medley! hahahaha

can you tell me if the reasson cd single card sleave with only her face on it is rare and how much its worth? I always thought it was very vare as ive seen it go to very high prices on ebay in the past
