hey! you are the last person to say something about that, mr 'I wanna have all my singles sealed'! :P

 

 

I actually unwrap all my singles if they're sealed , so that I can see the disc inside, and so I can easily put them in card single protectors. Also, by having an unsealed collection it allows me to rip any non-album tracks & mixes into iTunes.

 

 

You are the same as me then lol Id find it too hard to not be able to look at my singles lol Also as long as you look after the singels they will still look new lol. I have sealed all of my Singles in plastic covers. I brought 250 covers and i am have way down the pile lol lol. Oh well, im so glade celine has releced so many singles for us to search and buy, whatever the cost as the case maybe lol.

I bought 100 new maxi jewel cases, from the only UK company I could find that don't sell the ones with those 4 annoying ridges around the edge of where the disc goes. So all my maxi singles have these new cases, and they look great. Then I bought 100 card single protection sleeves, so all my singles look new.

I just think, seeing as I'm never going to sell my Celine collection, why not unwrap sealed items? As long as I protect them properly then they will stay in new condition forever, and I can still look inside and enjoy my items more.

I totally agree with you too. For me there's no point on collecting something if you can't even admire it. It's like having monalisa sealed up in a box so it doesn't get damaged. I open everything like and I protect them also. But anyway, that's just me.

Yes, but you can admire it from every angle. I meant keeping Mona Lisa sealed on a non see through box.

I must say that I secretly hate when I get sealed items 'cause it puts me into that dreaded "should I open it or not" mindspace.

I have a sealed copy of To Love You More (The orange one with Think Twice ish Celine on the cover) QDCA 93081 and the cover isn't folded at the spine so you can't see the spine from the shelf, It's easily fixed if I open it, but this is a rare piece, so opening a sealed copy seems really bad! Oneof these days I'll probably do it, but right now I've resisted temptation.

 

If it was a non rare item, I'd have no worries about opening it if I wanted to see inside. Would be great to go into a record company and seal all your rare things up again!

Does anyone know where or even if, you can get protective clear covers for 3" snap packs or card cassingles.

Most of my 3" have them, but a couple don't and I've never seen them for sale anywhere.

Yeah there the ones I mean, the long boxes. If you only have one spare though you should hang on to it yourself, in case you ever need it. (I would be very happy to take it off your hands if you insist though!) PM me if you want.

Your reactions are very interesting...you see i never spoke to collectors before exept my better friend Who have absoulty everything about Britney Spears:)

I think that for me, collecting Celine's things and Cds mean...Have everything about her.

I bought twice each normal cd (normal edition from Canada and if there's other song in other edition, i listen it on the internet. So i can keep my import cd's sealed.

When a cd's that is not sealed, i'm angry and i'm happy cause i can listen it but i always look for sealed cd.

Yes it's hard to resist and don't open a sealed cd's.

To be honnest, one day, i will sell my collection...maybe when it will time for the retreat!

Do all copies of The Colour of My Love (474743 2) come with the old style silver disc? Or do some editions have a newer disc design like the yellow Celine Dion disc or the white Unison disc?

 

Also, does anyone know where I can get a new Columbia edition of Unison? I've never seen any in HMV and they don't list it on their site, and Amazon and most eBay sellers only have the UK Epic release. I also need one with the clear dic tray lol!

The 474743 2 (columbia) that I have is the one with the silver & red stripes. So can't help you there.

Well mine is silver with red stripes too. I was just wondering if there was a newer disc like Unison and CD.

The cds I got in the store that had a nice cd were: Unison (only white but still), FIY, LTAL,TAST,ACDS, ATW etc...

 

But SISDA has a picture disc with the Canadian and Mexican editions

the french edition of à Olympia has a black disc

The CD cd has different discs; yellow in USA, 2nd euro edition, picture canada

TCOML from Canada or USA has a nice green disc

 

I really don't know why Sony had those 'cheap' silver ones, while in other countries there were great layouts!

Thanks for the info Davey. The number 467203 2 is on both Epic and Columbia verisons, but Epic seems to be more common. Seeing as it's mostly UK releases that are Epic, I assume the one you have is a UK release too. I just wanted all of my albums to be Columbia, but if I find that the only european Columbia version available has the old black disc tray, then I'll have to get an Epic copy.

 

Also, is Live a L'Olympia available with a clear disc tray case nowadays?

I have two Unisons from Epic with the barcode 5 099746720322

One is the plain one with the black cd tray and silver/blue disc

The other is the clear cd tray with the white disc

So I don't see how you are going to be sure that you are getting a clear tray without physically looking at it.

 

Also the clear tray has a much nicer spine than the other releases, more in keeping with the albums font. It's defo the nicest Unison to get.

Like I said before, I have no notion if it is on Columbia in the same style.

 

I need to get my hands on the black Olympia, and the picture disc version of SSD (Is that also the one with the clear cd tray (Celine in minature on the spine area?, love that one)

regarding re-releases of old albums i always prefer the originals with black trays because the paper quality that the inserts are printed on is so much better than the cheapy new ones. theyre much thicker and better printed where as the new ones are really flimsy

Yeah it's annoying because I never see Unison in CD stores in the UK, so it makes it more difficult because I never know for sure when I buy from Amazon etc if it's the right version...

I think I'll just go and get an Epic copy, as we don't know whether this Columbia edition isn't just an older version with the black case. The Epic ones are everywhere, so that's obviously the newer one they want people to buy nowadays (like the 471508 9 version of CD).

No I don't think so

 

So Olympia is the only early album that is only available with the black disc tray, as Unison, CD, DCP & TCOML have all been updated...

My Think Twice UK maxi #2 has just arrived (the black one). The spine just says 'Celine Dion Think' instead of Think Twice!!! Does everyone else's have the same mistake?
