It's been said by Shania that he doesn't like the spotlight and rarely gives an opportunity to be photographed. Around the time of Shania's Come On Over! album, I was a HUGE fan. At one time, it was questionable whether or not she was my favorite over Celine. Of course, it was a phase and Celine is still number one but what drew me out of the phase was the fact that I felt Shania's quality had somewhat gone down (music wise). Her new songs were a little too corny (Party For Two) and low-grade for me. I do realize that Celine is corny as hell but somehow I can deal with that because her voice is amazing and I'm more into Celine, the woman than I ever was Shania, the woman. It was mainly her performances. I do find it sad, though. Though I'd stopped paying a lot of attention to them, I still respect her and find it very shocking. Then again, I didn't know as much about their relationship as we do about Celine and Renes. Shania and Mutt were always rather private about things like that, as most of you already know.
