Music mogul Robert 'Mutt' Lange has spoken out about his split from country star Shania Twain, revealing the couple was "growing apart". Lange has filed for divorce from the singer after 15 years of marriage, and in a brief statement, the music producer admits the separation is "unfortunate." He tells People magazine, "It's just an unfortunate thing that's happened... It's literally just a growing apart, that's all." Reports suggest the split was as much of a shock to Twain as it was for her fans. A source says, "She's devastated. She's getting through it with a very close-knit group of family and friends." The couple wed in 2003. They have a six-year-old son, called Eja D'angelo. It was because of the tour. She catched a big cold halfway the 1st North-American leg, which didn't get any better. They had to reschedule a big part of the European leg and a bit of the 2nd NA one. But she didn't have any time to fully recover, so by the time she was doing concerts in Europe, it became worse. Although you really didn't notice it during the concerts, when I heard back the last European gig in Antwerp, her voice was just bad. Wasn't any difference in the 2nd NA leg and they ended up cutting almost every ballad (because those are the most straining songs).... You can still that her voice isn't up to par on her GH and on "Shoes". This is also one of the reasons it's taking her so long to put out a new album, but I've heard her voice was damaged permanently.. Btw, NO official news has been released about a new album....even her label doesn't know a thing. It could be 2008, it could also be 2009, or much, much later.... When she was opening the Motapu track in New Zealand she actually said she was on a "permanent sabbatical", which caused quite some commotion.... For Shania, touring is the most rewarding and the best thing in the music bizz, so she wanted to keep on going (and also not disappoint the fans, as it was a long time since the last tour). She also refused to lip-synch, saying she'd rather perform like that, then to fake it. Kudos for that..
