That is such an amazing thing that she does. Im so sad that she took a break but i know that you have too. I saw her in 2003 and that was the last time that i saw Shania, time for a video and music.

Jennifer Lopez’s American Idol negotiations may have gone south, but a superstar may still end up on the judging panel for season 10 of FOX’s hit show. Shania Twain has long been at the top of the network’s list, according to a source close to the singer.

 

“They’ve been after her ever since she was a mentor on the show last season,” the source says. “And they haven’t given up.”

 

Twain stepped in for the Chicago auditions and “everyone thought she was a great addition to the judges’ table,” a show source said at the time. She also mentored the contestants in April.

 

Her name came up — along with other celebs, including Elton John, Chris Isaak and Harry Connick Jr. — as a possible permanent judge after Simon Cowell announced his departure last year.

 

“Shania’s a huge fan of the show and she had a great time as a mentor,” the source says.

 

Asked whether she’ll join the show, Twain’s rep had no comment.

 

FOX has no comment except to note that no judges have been confirmed yet for the show.

'AMERICAN Idol" producers are showing re newed interest in country music star Shania Twain -- who could gain a coveted spot on the judges panel, according to sources familiar with the talks.

 

A source told The Post yesterday that "Idol" executives had requested a meeting with Twain's reps.

 

Twain, whose name has been floated in connection with "Idol" and ruled out within recent weeks, may end up bumping singer/actress Jennifer Lopez -- who is reportedly out of the running thanks to her diva antics and over-the-top pay demands.

 

Executives say Twain's mainstream appeal, coupled with her endearing personal story, could be just the ticket for the show.

 

 

The publicity over the judges shakeup has kept "Idol" in the headlines for weeks as talks continue.

 

Twain is already signed up to front a personal-improvement show, "Why Not? With Shania Twain," for Oprah Winfrey's new cable network, OWN.

 

Twain has been discussing publicly how she's recovered from her divorce from music industry executive Robert Lange, finalized in July.

 

The Canadian songstress was a hit when she sat in on "Idol" auditions last season.

 

A Fox spokesperson had no comment.

In August 2009, at a conference in Timmins, Ontario, a spokesman for Twain's label said a new record from the singer is still "nowhere in sight".

 

Dunno if they've said anything since that but that's what I found about it.

Longtime record label executive Jason Owen is launching a management firm with Shania Twain as his first client. Today he is announcing the launch of Sandbox Entertainment, a full-service management and entertainment company which will be based in Nashville and open its doors on Sept. 7.

Owen’s last day as Senior Vice President of Artist Development and Marketing for Universal Music Nashville will be Sept. 3. However, he will continue his nearly decade-long association with the label in a consultancy role, working with Chairman & CEO Luke Lewis.

 

“Shania and I have been together for over 8 years in my role at UMG and to start this new journey with her is a true privilege for me,” said Owen. “Shania is a true music icon who has broadened country music’s boundaries and brought many new fans to the genre. We have some exciting plans in the works that will expand her worldwide career into new areas of music and entertainment, which will all be revealed very soon.”

 

While at Universal Music Nashville, Owen developed and implemented successful publicity, marketing and creative initiatives for such chart-topping artists as Sugarland, Reba McEntire, George Strait, Billy Currington, and Laura Bell Bundy.

 

He launches Sandbox with extensive experience in building and managing campaigns across a wide range of platforms, and is credited for his work on high-level programs for Shania Twain and Sugarland, including producing the hit ABC-TV special, “Sugarland: Live On The Inside.”

 

Prior to joining Universal, Owen enjoyed an extensive and successful career in television, serving as Director of Marketing and Talent Relations at Columbia TriStar Television. His background also includes stints with Spelling Entertainment and New Line Cinema/Fine Line Features.

 

“During my time at Universal, I’ve also worked with many of the world’s most talented artists and many of the most dynamic people in the business, most notably, my mentor and friend, Luke Lewis,” added Owen. “I am fortunate to be able to continue my relationship with him and UMG, while branching out with this exciting new venture.”

 

“Jason has done a tremendous job in helping us to guide the careers of many of our artists,” commented Lewis. “While we are sorry to see him move on, we certainly understand it. We wish him only the very best and are delighted that we will continue to work with him in his consultancy role.”

(NEW YORK) – September 22, 2010. Superstar Shania Twain has signed an agreement with Atria Books, an imprint of Simon and Schuster, to publish her autobiography, it was announced today by Judith Curr, Executive Vice President and Publisher of Atria Books and Washington Square Press. Curr acquired world rights from Robert B. Barnett of Williams & Connolly LLP and Sarah Durand, Senior Editor, will edit. Atria plans to publish the book in spring 2011.

 

In this yet to be titled autobiography, Shania Twain shares her challenging and sometimes shockingly painful upbringing in rural Ontario, the tragic death of her mother and stepfather, her "against all odds" rise to fame in a foreign entertainment industry, the hurdles she faced as a female outsider in the male-dominated world of country music and the recent struggles in her personal life.

 

“When I read Shania’s manuscript, it amazed me how rich, clear, unfiltered and honest she was,” said Judith Curr. “There is a depth that comes through in her writing.
