Hi everyone!

 

Just got back from Celine in Anaheim and just wanted to say that we were glad that Celine IS BACK on stage and how incredible she looked! She still is visibly and audibly not 100%, and it seemed she may have still been trying to find her "groove" back on stage. She mentioned in the beginning that she was nervous after being away for one month, but was sincerely sad about having to cancel or even postpone her shows. Some of the signs that she wasn't 100% yet though was that she kind of missed some lines in "I'm Your Angel", and was doing her best to follow at the end. Also I have not yet seen a video of Celine performing "It's a Man's World," but this evening she started off strong with the lyrics, and then from the middle towards the end she started mumbling her words, and doing more of the scatting that she likes to do with her voice when she forgets the lyrics. I even turned to my sister and said that I couldn't really understand what she was saying. She was able to hit every note, yet there seemed to be no life (vs. many other concerts I have seen Celine in). I think Anaheim might be a prep for her L.A. show, and I really felt for her as she was going through the concert.

 

Does anybody know about the thing she does with her thumbs now? She usually does the "L" "V" and the kiss send off with her two fingers, but this evening she kissed her thumb and then used to say "hi." Is that for Rene Charles? And guys, I don't know but she left out the whole Queen tribute....has she performed that in the States?

 

Like everyone said, there were still seat empty through the concert, and unfortunately, I'm not sure if the crowd in the upper sections was really into it, as much as the devoted Celine fans on the floor, and near the catwalk.....BTW THAT STAGE IS AMAZING>>>>I LOVE IT!

 

Celine gave it her all, and that is what a true performer, artist and professional she is!

 

 

She always messes up the words a bit for I'm your angel. You can tell because she sings one thing, and when Barnev is supposed to repeat her, he says something different. And with It's a Man's World, I could never tell what she was saying ethier lol. Not in the bootlegs, and not live. She gets really into the song and its like whaaaaaaaaa did you just say? I still to this day listen to the boot leg and for the life of me can not figure out what she's singing. lol. So I don't think those were signs of her not feeling well, just something she does most nights. Thanks for the review.

thank you everyone for the pictures, reviews, and videos. I think she's being smart and trying not to push herself too hard. Its going to take a couple of shows to get back in the groove I'm sure! I am very glad to see her back on stage.

A Little More....

 

CUTE CELINE: One of the things we all know Celine does if she knows she skipped something or she feels she didn't give it her all, is her "did I do okay?" or her "I'm sorry" expression and at the end when she was saying goodnight and when she was walking on the floor away from the stage, she kept making that cute expression all the way through....she's so concerned with her fans enjoying her show...AMAZING woman she is!

 

NICE THROW, NICE CATCH: During the performance of one of her songs as she was walking around the stage, she was walking near on of the corners and as she was singing, I think she made eye contact with a fan, and they threw a knotted t-shirt(s) up onto the stage and she integrated into her singing commmenting on the throw, and even praising herself catching it.."nice throw....nice catch"....Celine is so COOL!

 

ALMOST LAUGHED: At the very end of "My Love", where she is on her knees and there is a little break/silence in the music where she is about to continue with "Did you know I take the time for you?" a fan shrieked (not screamed..shrieked) out "WE LOVE YOU CELINE"..and almost sounded like she was being choked saying it, the audience laughed a little, and Celine was sooo focused (being that it is an emotional song and moment), but I think she might have smiled a little, because she paused for a bit to focus and then the music started with her.

 

LIP SYNCHING: Just like all of us I am a keen observer when Celine is singing and have read previous concerts with her lipping, and last night I was really watching the screen for the coordination of her lips and sound, and the only song that I could say she may have been lip synching for was "It's All Coming Back To Me Now" and maybe, just maybe "River Deep Mountain High." She held her microphone a little higher (to hide her mouth), and the camera shots were more towards angles and at Mego on the piano on IACBTMN. I think that everything else was LIVE because all the little "Celine sounds" she makes with certain songs, how she changes them up...you could see on the screen when she does that, and for someone who was away from the stage for one month, it would be hard for her to remember lipping those moments....so Celine really did make her COMEBACK last night, and she took it all the way LIVE!

 

MICROPHONE CLAPPING?: We all know Celine's signature clap is her clapping her opposite arm or forearm (and she did that to say thank you to her opening act Gordy Brown), but in the middle of one song, she was feeling the beat, and used her microphone (which was on her left hand) to clap onto her right upper arm..so it made a "MUFFED MUFFED" sound during the song. Also something that was definitely noticeable was her adjusting her "box" behind her during some of the songs (like remember she did when she performed "Taking Chances" on the X-factor), and at one point during another song I think she was having trouble with her ear-piece, because she kept on adjusting it...technical diffculties, but Celine always makes it WORK!

Thanks so so much for the videos and pics! It's great to know that she's on the road to recovery and hopefully she won't have overdone it and get sick again. Does anyone have any high quality vids that are closer so we can see the beautiful diva in all her glory? Thanks!

also an interesting note:

i think she forgot to sing MY LOVE after ALONE b/c all the back up signers moved and looked confused, and she went into PQTME and the back up singers went back to their places

then she transitioned back to MY LOVE after PQTME

I agree. She's not going to change just for one show what she lip syncs or doesn't. Especially when she apparently still feeling not 100%. I'll admit though its very convincing when you are there and when it's in the arena, they all sound live.
