CellyDee87 Posted October 15, 2008 at 01:50 AM Posted October 15, 2008 at 01:50 AM I'd love to see her open the show in a cherry red number! Same style as the black, hot pink and lavender dresses but in RED! Quote

SuperLove4Celine Posted October 15, 2008 at 03:45 AM Posted October 15, 2008 at 03:45 AM Ugh...I'm only two hours away and this is killing me knowing Celine's in my state and I'm not seeing her perform right now! Oh well...I guess November 23rd isn't too far away. I hope there's at least one minor change during the show. - Joe Quote
Koolan Posted October 15, 2008 at 04:34 AM Posted October 15, 2008 at 04:34 AM Great crowd tonight. Celine was very sentimental if I heard it right (sound on cell kept on breaking up). clbmed02 Posted October 15, 2008 at 05:22 AM Posted October 15, 2008 at 05:22 AM (edited) I'm clueless. Who's aaron, and where did he go? Aaron is one of Celine's dancers. He was a dancer at AND (the bald one). He fell and hurt his leg in Montreal (Aug.16th). He has been recuperating since then. Tonight is his first night back. I am so glad that he is back. I missed him at the concerts in NJ/NY Edited October 15, 2008 at 05:24 AM by clbmed02 Quote "That which you manifest is before you"

clbmed02 Posted October 15, 2008 at 06:13 AM Posted October 15, 2008 at 06:13 AM The concert is over. The crowd was amazing according to our source. Ramona shared the concert with some of her friends. She is so good to us! She alternately called each of to let us listen to some songs. She was rewarded at the end, she gave Celine 2 kisses. I guess no restraining order was in effect BTW, Aaron is happy to be back, but only perfomed in three songs. October 27 & 28 can't come soon enough! Quote "That which you manifest is before you"

Love, Posted October 15, 2008 at 08:29 AM Author Posted October 15, 2008 at 08:29 AM (edited) My outfit for the show. I was filling in for Elijah tonight! http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v323/celinebeat/1-SophaSacramento001.jpg I wore all white... is that alright? Is that alright? I was so thrilled to have had the company of one of my dearest friends, Tanya, and to bring along my parents to the show. There was a major traffic jam, so, we arrived right when Gordie Brown was finishing up his portion of the show. I did get a chance to chat with Diana and Lisa. It was a very nice conversation, ladies! Ramama, I didn't get a chance to see you, but hopefully we will reunite in San Jose! Celine did very well tonight. The show was THE SAME SHOW. No changes! All the outfits were the same. The crowd LOVED her... but unfortunately, they were too reserved...They did finally stand up during "Love Can Move Mountains." The audio was horrible, because the Milo system seemed a bit too much for the Arco Arena. During the soaring numbers, I felt like I was drowning in a pool of sound. The sound, however, was pretty awesome when Celine sang the more intimate and quieter songs, like "My Love." Yes, I did shout out "My Love" during Celine's introduction and it was great to hear her acknowledgement. I guess Arco Arena wasn't that large... as I didn't even think I was that loud... and she heard me. (Video coming soon ) Celine did hit some powerful, money notes during "It's A Man's Man's Man's World."She totally rocked it out during "I'm Alive" and "Alone." Yes, I did notice Aaron's return. I have lots of videos coming up! Edited October 15, 2008 at 08:51 AM by Love, Quote

clbmed02 Posted October 15, 2008 at 02:14 PM Posted October 15, 2008 at 02:14 PM Here is a review of last night's concert: The Sacramento Bee http://www.sacbee.com/1174/story/1315692.html Dion's Arco concert dazzles but sticks to the scriptBy Rachel Leibrock rleibrock@sacbee.com Published: Wednesday, Oct. 15, 2008 Celine Dion's appeal isn't always easy to figure out -- at least not on the surface. The 40-year-old singer has a lovely, if not particularly exceptional voice. Certainly, her songs are diva-worthy -- big, sprawling ballads, disco booty-shakers, grand pop moments that hit all the right marks -- but they're not exactly brilliantly moving or unique. So it's sometimes difficult to understand just what makes the French Canadian chanteuse a best-selling international artist whose success defies ever-changing musical trends. Dion brought her "Taking Chances" tour to Arco Arena on Tuesday night and offered enlightenment with a show that brought on a bit of Las Vegas flamboyance, plenty of schmaltz, an exuberant energy and a touch of the crazy. There, we said it: Celine Dion is kinda bananas. The fierce poses, the dramatic expressions, the convulsing dance moves, the wild, bird-like twitters -- the Grammy-winning performer is oddly, alluringly goofy. Dion doesn't take herself too seriously even when keeping her show moving at a brisk, expertly scripted pace. Playing to a packed arena. Dion performed on a tricked-out center stage that included rising platforms, trap doors that dipped beneath the surface, giant video screens, a lengthy conveyor belt (yes, a conveyor belt) and a catwalk that jutted into the audience. Outfitted in a glittery lavender mini dress, Dion opened the show with the soaring dance anthem "I Drove All Night." Flanked by a full band, back-up singers and dancers, she strutted circles around the stage, pausing, occasionally to let the conveyor belt do the work or to mug for the audience (not to mention one of the many cameras capturing her every move for all those looming TV screens). As Dion worked her way through numbers such as "Shadow of Love" and "All By Myself," the effect was theatrical and showy, carrying with it the glitzy sheen of Dion's four-year run at Las Vegas' Caesar Palace. There were costume changes, somersaulting dancers and plenty of banter. Throughout, Dion made fun, silly faces, related little vignettes about her family, confessed the emotional difficulties of recording the Linda Perry-penned tearjerker "My Love" and, pumping her fist into the air, commanded the well-mannered audience to stand up and dance already. Still, Dion's undeniable charm aside, the show felt too rehearsed and choreographed. When Dion busted out Queen's "We Will Rock You," the moment should have been fresh and fun but instead was trite and jarring. There also was little spontaneity as Dion performed a duet of "The Prayer" with a video screen version of Italian opera singer Andrea Bocelli or when, predictably, she closed the evening with her blockbuster hit "My Heart Will Go On," from the 1997 smash film "Titanic." Really, it's as if somewhere it is written that the earth will stop rotating on its axis if Dion does not encore with that love song to end all love songs . Celine Dion is a true pop diva, and in that regard she should take a few more chances by giving into those dashes of impulsiveness and the inherent, unbridled zeal that sets her apart from the Barbras, Mariahs and Madonnas of the world. She owes it to herself, and as the name of her tour would suggest, she owes it to her fans. PS: Thanks R for the pictures and the calls. Quote "That which you manifest is before you"
