charmed Posted October 28, 2008 at 09:03 PM Posted October 28, 2008 at 09:03 PM (edited) I thought Celine said to Oprah at the end of the song, "I did my best". Because she was so emotional. This is the best performance of MY LOVE to date, IMO. Very touching and emotional. Even better than the live recording on the new cd. Loved that her band was there. She looked fantastic, too. Javito Posted October 28, 2008 at 09:04 PM Posted October 28, 2008 at 09:04 PM (edited) Céline Dion=PERFORMER. Then, singer. But first place, PERFORMER. Amazing rendition of My Love BRAVO!! karatedude317 Posted October 28, 2008 at 09:07 PM Posted October 28, 2008 at 09:07 PM The best part besides the end was when she asked Oprah "was I bad??" What do you mean? When Celine hugged Oprah after the performance she asked her if she was bad, meaning was her performance bad She must be kidding us! It goes to show how humble she is Quote

Del Posted October 28, 2008 at 09:39 PM Posted October 28, 2008 at 09:39 PM I didn't know about the english version, but remember seeing the Francophone edition in the Montreal aeroport. A little to expensive for $30. I got the book when I was in Montreal this summer for the concerts. It`s more expensive because it`s a hardcover. I`m really happy I got it as the stories are touching. idroveallnight Posted October 28, 2008 at 09:51 PM Posted October 28, 2008 at 09:51 PM I risk many nasty remarks being thrown my way, but I regret to say that this performance did not do that song justice. She's already performed it perfectly almost a hundred times on tour but this version...I didn't like it at all. It started out perfect but as it progressed, especially at the end, Celine was too emotional and couldn't deliver. She even looked disappointed at the end because of it. I was upset that they cut out the second part of the song, but she did her best considering the entire show was cryfest. I hope she at least debuts in the top 5. Let's hope she does a better job during the upcoming Grammy show. Quote
stevo Posted October 28, 2008 at 09:56 PM Posted October 28, 2008 at 09:56 PM Couldn't deliver? You seem to have missed the meaning of the song for Celine and how it clearly does affect her. On tour the emotions are staged and over dramatic- you could see it in her eyes during this performance that she was struggling at the end- that's what makes it even more special! Who wants perfection in the form of pitch and anunciation and tone?- she sang with her heart and delivered in my eyes a perfect performance. Her voice was so clear and smooth and non-nasal until the very end when she just missed a breath- beautiful Quote
VinnyT. Posted October 28, 2008 at 10:00 PM Posted October 28, 2008 at 10:00 PM Did she sing only "My Love"? No medley as rumored? Quote For Exclusive News "Like Us" on Facebook http://i44.tinypic.com/vfjwad.jpg click on the banner
SarahJB5 Posted October 28, 2008 at 10:08 PM Posted October 28, 2008 at 10:08 PM Overall, I'm very impressed with this Oprah appearance! Celine was so cute when she had the little girl dance in the beginning!!! I was VERY disappointed that Oprah had to go on and on about RC's hair....how many years have we been dealing with this now...it's SOOOOOOOO old!!!! I love how Celine said that RC was 7 1/2 and 3/4 years ....that was hilarious!!!! I was also disappointed with the Charice talk...been there, done that, why do we have to talk so much about it again...also I'm surprised there wasn't any talk of the tour...you think they would try to promote it just a little bit??? My Love was AMAZINGLY awesome, however nothing compares to hearing the first part (a capella) live in large arena!!!! Thomas Posted October 28, 2008 at 10:15 PM Posted October 28, 2008 at 10:15 PM I thought her performance was awesome. On tour My Love becomes a bit of a farce towards the end, the emotion is there but it's heaped on with a shovel to the point where night after night of tearing up in the same way seems almost like an act. But here it's natural and the tears are real and you can see and feel how it's affecting her. She did really well! Quote

DianaLuts Posted October 28, 2008 at 10:25 PM Posted October 28, 2008 at 10:25 PM (edited) It was a great special. People tend to forget that the shows was about miracle babies and not Celine Dion world tour. Celine looked awesome on my huge HDTV. and that bling was blinding The most touching part of the show in my opinion is the story of Eliot. Edited October 28, 2008 at 10:25 PM by DianaLuts Quote
stevo Posted October 28, 2008 at 10:25 PM Posted October 28, 2008 at 10:25 PM haha!!! I heard she wore a pink thong and got Rene to take it off with his teeth during the "I believe in you, you believe in me, we believe in each other" bit and threw it into the screaming crowd. Lol @ Minnie Mouse remix. One of my mates calls her Minnie Mouse when she goes "Here we go" and "Goodnight!" and "I can't hear you..." Quote

Chellbie Posted October 28, 2008 at 10:27 PM Posted October 28, 2008 at 10:27 PM HOW CAN I EVEN PUT INTO WORDS HOW THIS SHOW WAS.. Celine was amazing! And my love.. oh my geez.. Celine was crying in the end, and she felt so bad you could tell, Oprah leans in to hug her and Celine says something like, "i tried my best" and she was shaking her head, i guess disapointed of how upset she got ... you could tell she was fighting it. It was so genuine.. AGG i just fell in love with her even more. When they showed the story of the little boy who died after 99 days, Celine was so emotional she turned away from the cameras, I've not really seen her cry that bad. This woman we all love has a heart of gold. And if anyone ever asks you "why do you love her so much".. ask them WHY DONT THEY? This show, among so many other reasons, are reasons enough to love our Celine. She is the most compassionate and genuine person I have ever witnessed before. She was so gentle with the children and her eyes were so loving when the stories were being told.. She must go home everynight exhausted from the love and care she puts into life. Needless to say, I LOVED this episode, ...
