I have been critical of my Celine, OUR Celine, over the past year. However, on a scale of 1 to 10, her performance on the Oprah show today was 100. I am very proud to call myself a Celine fan tonight. It was Amazing.

OMG I don't even think I have enough words to express how truly stunning and flawless the performance of My Love is. This time the EMOTION was really, this was not the satged every night fo the tour kind of thing, this was all her, and all from the heart. Towards the end, ohhhhhh I just can't explain. When she tried to mutter out a thank you my heart sank! STUNNING, STUNNING, STUNNING! What a woman I don't understand how you can't love her. I'll be back later when I can see through my tears I'm being a crybaby!

 

I would so love it if she did regular segments like this on Oprah carrying on this amazing humanitarian work!

I DVR'd OPRAH while I was at work and watched it back this evening (well, zipped through all the parts up to Celine).

 

First off, those stories were amazing! Donald, the young man that was drowing as a result of Hurricane Katrina- Saw his mother die and then was going to end his own life, but then fought to stay alive. OMD- Crazy emotional-

 

And then Elliot- I was losing it, but just hoping he was going to live- 99 days

 

There was a point when Oprah said "and coming up Celine will sing for us"- and Celine put both hands near her throat and said I'll try- Wonder if her voice was not feeling well or if it was because she was crying so much???

 

Agree with the comments about RC's hair... I felt so bad for Celine- been there done that- might as well ask her about how many shoes she has at the same time.

 

Celine did look great. Very natural- light makeup- V-nice

 

Finally- MY LOVE- Amazing, amazing, amazing- Agree that this is the best live performance to date.

I was like Hey Mego- Then hey, Elise and Barnev- Whoa, the whole band. That was cool.

 

Of course this song really touches her and was very fitting for the show. I'm sure she was feeling many emotions at once-

Doesn't "My Love" have a special meaning to Celine?? I thought I had heard/read that Celine thinks of her relationship with Rene?? Does anyone else remember? I notice she gets choked up when she says did you notice all my mistakes, and of course at the end when she says I know I made it clear from the start.

 

Regardless, it must have a special meaning for her to give such a soulful performance night after night.

 

Lastly- After that awesome performance, she asks Oprah if she did ok?!!?!?! OMD- Wonderful Celine! Celine totally needed someone to hug- She and Oprah put their heads together and Celine just wanted to stay like that, but Oprah pulled away It's okay Celine- you have 20,000 hugs from the forum. Love you!

 

Man, gotta love Celine- Would like to see her do a FUN Oprah now! Enough sappy stuff!

Linda Perry wrote the song for Celine. She based the song on a conversation that she had with Celine. Celine says she hasn't ever really had time to think about what she wants, it's always about what everyone else wants, and so it became very emotional for her. Watching My Love breaks my heart, not only for the fact that she is so emotional but I get the feeling it's kind of like her farewell song like "I've had enough of everything" I dunno I almost feel guilty sometimes when I read the lyrics as a fan and hear it with such a "plea", it's strange

Well i'm proud of myself i know she gets a lot of gifts like stuffed animals, flowers and all that. But i think i gave her one of the best gifts anyone could get. Something to show them they are important no matter what. I gave Celine a picture of her and me together when i met her down in Las Vegas, on it i wrote To Celine i will never forget what you did for me Love Natasha. Lethbridge, Alberta October 24, 2003 i felt it was my time to give back to her, and this was the best way. i just hope she got it. Her bodyguard new i had it. So during the show, my aunt who was holding summoned her to come forward by moving his one finger, than he took it and went under the stage. If not.
