My my... people do change :whistling:

And if I would have an experience with Céline, I'm sure she would become my fave artist, even if there were other faves for me before. ;)

Yeah, I've heard about that saying before, Barbara :giggle:

And I agree with you on that but I still don't like Charice :mdr:

I guess it's everyone to their own choices ;)

You just dislike this girl that much, don't you? Still super convinced that she "used" Celine to get in her show, despite Celine's generous invitation she made on national television. Imagine going out of your way digging up & fishing out fave info of a 16-year girl who already made it public that Celine is also one of her favorites. Just makes me think what the big deal is really when every individual is entitled to their own personal favorites and admire any artist's talent out there.

I have to say that I do feel it's unfair to accuse Charice of "using" Céline in any way. I mean come on...didn't you see her cry when she saw Céline via satellite? There's no way that was fake. Whitney Houston and a million other singers can still be her favourites and it wouldn't take away any importance or emotion of meeting Céline. It's not a childish competition. Not liking Charice's voice is TOTALLY fine, but to seriously accuse her of being sneaky and manipulative and to "use" Céline to get famous....paranoid, much?

"...and let me tell you...if René thought that he was the bus...but forget about it. It's René-Charles that's the bus".

I love you Céline!

I agree with godessceline. Celine/Oprah invited her there, so what is she supposed to do? Say no? I sure as heck wouldn't say no.

& On the info for Oprah it has Charice labeled as 'The girl with "The Voice"'

I hope after Oprah stops obsessing over her people forget her.

Here's my take on this...

Celine was part of the mega-diva 1990s. It was THE time to have a voice like she has. Songs like "The Power Of Love" and "It's All Coming Back To Me Now" would rocket to the top of the charts. Times have changes significantly.

I don't hold anything against this girl. Her voice is very impressive - but in comparison to Celine's around the same age, there really is no comparison. Celine's voice is not just a powerhouse - but it is unique...and that is totally necessary. I see Charice having a very nice career like Josh Groban's - but I don't see her ever being on the radio or selling the massive amounts of records like Celine.

Aw, I love what Oprah said today. About Celine, it takes a really big star to share the stage that way.. and thanking Celine for being so very gracious. 'S true!!!

and stop being so mean to this little girl!!

Just watched it. Oprah gave Celine the most sincerest thank you at the end. She thanked her for being so gracious and generous in spirit and said it takes a big star to share the stage that way. The way Celine sort of stepped back and gave Charice a little push to go do her thing just shows what an amazing person she is.

Oprah also gave another nice plug for the tour .

It's ok not to like her voice. It's fine if you don't like her style. It's quite alright not to like her at all. But to accuse her of "using" Celine and for judging that she's fake when you just have no idea, NO IDEA AT ALL, what she's gone thru and who she really is, is just plain unfair. I hope it doesn't happen to you. :)

I Truly Believe That Charice will become the next Big Thing like Leona Lewis, Kelly Clarkson... :innocent: But she won´t sell as many records as Celine or Mariah that´s a fact.

I disagree. I feel that her market appeal is very limited. I don't know any Philippino singers being major stars (N. America, Europe, Australia). Yes, she has a "team" behind her but that is not enough to be popular. How many of you would actually buy her music? I wouldn't.

Celine was great and gracious. But the duet itself was not that great. I felt it over so sugarcoated that I threw up in my mouth just a little bit. I would have enjoyed Celine more singing the song by herself rather than one line here and there. But you how Oprah is. It is TV afterall, they gotta edit the whole thing so the studio is weeping. But kudos to Oprah for promoting the tour. Too bad there are not that many tickets available left.

I was at MSG, the performance itself wasn't edited, Celine really did let Charise sing the whole song. The beautiful speech that Celine gave before the performance was edited sadly.

Yeah, too bad the speech was edited. I was expecting more...the whole thing in fact...a bit dissapointing. But anyway most people can listen to it on youtube..I guess most of us have..and Céline was so comforting and nice to Charice, very touching and funny moment to witness I thought. Like someone said before, it was like we were all backstage listening in. I love that moment!

Obviously Céline let Charice shine on this "duet"...and it was to be expected..it is Céline. I liked the fact that Oprah thanked Céline on the air the way she did and it was nice what she said that we all noticed about Céline graciousness and rare generosity etc...but THAT is our Céline. What a loving human being!

I would have to say what Celine did was absolutely sweet. Charice I think did an amazing job and it was so kind that Celine stood aside and let her take the stage. I just imagined how intimidating that had to be for Charice and I think considering how nervous and excited she was, she did great. :)

I went onto Itunes, and took a listen to her album .. to be completely honest .. it sucked .. i couldnt listen any farther.

Charice has got a good voice, but not when shes singing her own stuff .. shes only good when singing covers of songs, because she needs that guidance as in how she should sing, like low or high, soft or loud ..

When she is singing her own thing, it sounds so messed up, and just bad bad bad ..

its hard to explain ..

by that video on the rehearsal...they were about to sing a real duet

that didnt happened....

THEY REHEARSED TOGETHER

this litle girl thought she was the diva hahahaha

I watched Oprah, the concert at MSG rocked... Celine was so amazing, I love her so much!!! She really does have a great heart and was so gracious of sharing the spotlight with Charice, and let her shine. It was so moving, indeed it was a great performance.  :D

It is my first time here on this forum and I could't believe with the things I have read from the other posters said about Charice. :o

It's fair that you don't have to like her, you don't have to like her music, her singing style and her personality, and whatever else you dislikes about her. That's your opinions and you're all entitled to it.

You people are so immature and talking rubbish about this little girl. To accuse Charice of "using" Celine is just unfair, that is also an insult and rude to Celine :nono: , you should be ashamed of yourselves. Celine embraces and loves her, all you people could do here is just insult and mock about this girl who only wanted to achieve her goals and dreams. For the record she was invited and did not push herself to sing and perform. You people don't know anything what was really going on and how they really rehearsed for that performance. You all just like to speculate things and trying to find faults about Charice. I remember someone saying, "you're hated by people coz you're doing something right". Now, I say, Charice is doing something good and right, that's why her dreams are coming true. You people are just bitter and jealous! peace :thumbsup2:

I love Celine! the best singer!

Yeah. Maybe. Either it sounded better on youtube or TV, I still think that, it was a great performance by both. :D

Celine has long arrived where Charice has just turned up. Celine didn't have to prove anything but nonetheless showed once and again that more than being a huge star, she is a person with a big heart and admirable humility.

Too bad, the same cannot be said for some of her fans here. There are many frogs in a well shaft seeing the sky.

Of course everyone is entitled to their own opinion. So let me tell you mine. For a 16 year old girl who had a bad father (a drunkard and a wife-beater who almost choked and shot his wife to death, that bad), who joined singing contests six times a week since 7 years old to help her mom, whose childhood fondest memory is winning P500 ($10) to buy pizza for her family, who was at countless times became homeless and didn't know where to get their next meal, who was rejected by the local media industry because she's not "pretty," who got cheated on singing competitions several times because her competitors could bribe the judges, and now to be judged by some as a pretentious little diva... I think, for some girl to be given so much pain and suffering at a young age and yet still see the goodness in people and the beauty of life and dream for better things to come, it is just right that the universe conspires to provide her an equally good fate.

So yeah, add legs to the snake after you have finished drawing it. One who, while himself seeking happiness, oppresses another who also desire happiness, will not attain happiness hereafter. :)

Have a good day, y'all. And a life you rightfully deserve.
