I've never been to Montreal so any tips would be appreciated! If you get it early, it may be cheaper, but I stayed at The Sheraton my first time there, and it was RIGHT in the middle of the city. It was also down the street from the belle centre. This summer I stayed at the Travel Lodge outside of Montreal in Laval. It was maybe a 10 minute ride to the city, but the cab was $40 each way. So, the money I saved from the hotel room, was spent in cab rides. It's probably more worth it to splurge and stay in the city. Quote http://i20.photobucket.com/albums/b213/autumnskies00/siggy1-2.jpg

Celinenvegas Posted September 30, 2008 at 09:28 PM Posted September 30, 2008 at 09:28 PM Well the train certainly is cheap enough - $69 each way. I wonder what the bus cost JP when he came to NYC and if the trip is any shorter. The nice thing about the train is that you can move around, the seats are more comfortable, and they have a food/dining car. I gotta think about, my friend from Brazil may come to the shows so I gotta see what his plans are before I can but concert/train tix. Quote ~J O E Y~

I would have to go up Saturday, though - I'm trying to get tickets for the Sunday show -- and coming back on Monday. Anyone else planning on staying over anywhere? We could all split a room ... cheap is really good for me right now .. haha Quote

minniemare5 Posted October 2, 2008 at 02:57 AM Posted October 2, 2008 at 02:57 AM I can only go to the February 14th show because I am student teaching and already have missed 1 week of school for Celine. Can someone give me some information about taking a train? I would be coming from Detroit area, MI. I contacted a student discount travel agent about flying, and it will cost $600 a person! I am considering driving, but I'm pretty sure it's 12 hours..gotta double check mapquest. Deborah Quote
Libeck528 Posted October 2, 2008 at 03:00 AM Posted October 2, 2008 at 03:00 AM Check the amtrak website. It will tell you the times and everything. It is a lot cheaper than flying, too. But it might be hard for you to take the train on the 14th because it might run late and then you'll miss the show... a lot of times the trains are late. Teodora Posted October 2, 2008 at 08:22 PM Posted October 2, 2008 at 08:22 PM I finally bought my tickets: ParterreNord, row D, seats 21 and 22. That's the fourth row from the stage, right? There's no AA seats in front of it, right?I hope this is the last "last" show I can't wait for February! Quote

I had row D for the Aug 31st show, but there ended up being no row A, so it ended up being 3rd row, lol!!! They were filming the DVD, so I'm not sure if that had anything to do with it or if there is never a row A...it was a pleasant surprise!!! minniemare5 Posted October 3, 2008 at 02:57 AM Posted October 3, 2008 at 02:57 AM I heard back from amtrak and they said it would take 2 days to get to Montreal via train! Since there's no direct route or connecting route. I can't take that many days off to get there. Anyone know where to find cheap flights? STA travel estimated $600! Quote

Where are you coming from? Wow, that's a ton of money that I definitely don't have right now, but maybe something cheaper will be available at some point... It might be better, for me anyway, to Amtrak it to Newark Airport and fly from there ... guess I'll have to do some investigating. Anyone headed up from DC? Quote
