World Tour Book Idea

Good news everyone!

 

Heidi (#1fanforever) and I decided to make a book for the Taking Chances World Tour. It will be somewhat similar to the AND book and anyone who has or will be seeing her somewhere on the tour can participate.

 

So Heidi and I got together tonight to discuss what direction we want to take the book. So this is what we came up with:

 

- Send all information (paragraph & pictures) to: takingchancesbook@hotmail.com

 

- Write about an experience you had while you attended one of the shows. It could be a favorite song, someone you met; somewhere you traveled….you get the idea. Try not to write it as if you were writing to Celine, just talk about an experience and why it was special. Keep it to a maximum of 800 characters = approximately 130 words or so. So please, everyone... let's keep these short. Let's say 150 words max for the stories.

 

- Send us a maximum of 5 photos. We are anticipating that there will only be space for one picture on the page so make sure to let us know what one you want on your page. The extra pictures will be used for a fan picture section. Please don’t send any pictures of tickets.

 

- If you attended more than one show make sure to let us know what city you would like your page to be in. And you can include a list of the other places attended.

 

- Make sure to let us know where you are from and your name.

 

- Get everything to us as soon as you can. So if you have already seen the show, please try to send your items as soon as possible so we can get started We would like to have everything by Febuary 5th, 2009.

Great, I'd like to participate too! I never got to see Céline in Vegas (and wasn't even a member of the forum back then), but I've seen some pics of the book that was made about it and it looks cool! I'm sure this one will look just as cool!

Oops, I just realized a potentially catastrophic mistake in the "rules." We indicated 800 words, however the meaning was approximately 800 characters. 800 characters = approximately 130 words or so. So please, everyone... let's keep these short. Let's say 150 words max for the stories.

Can I ask what you mean by a "different concept?" I only ask because Heidi and I are in the "brainstorming" phase and are open to any suggestions you all may have.

150 words is really about a paragraph or two. We are asking everyone to keep it "short and sweet." Again, don't write TO Celine in this story, but rather tell a little about your experience on the tour - somewhere you traveled to, what you liked about it, favorite song, etc, etc. We have limited space & time (and energy), so please everyone keep the stories reasonable. Thank you!

We actually didn't discuss that, but I would say both, as long as the pictures of Celine are pictures that you took and not from another source

Ashley, Jane & Sopha - I know the word limit will be a struggle, hahaha. It's just that we are anticipating (or, rather, hoping for) a large participation rate, so we need to save space where we can.

 

Destin139 - I would echo Heidi's reply and also say that I recommend sending a picture of yourself to go along with your personal page or paragraph.

 

Denelle - If you don't have any pictures from your concerts, that is perfectly understandable. We understand that no cameras are allowed inside the venues, so not everyone will have pictures of that day. In this case, just send a picture of yourself that you like. My recommendation is to not send a picture from AND in Vegas, though, as that will confuse.

 

Sopha - I was thinking of using the same size, but I hadn't thought about going larger. I'll sync with Heidi and we'll talk about it.

 

If after doing a few of these we decide that the word limit can be increased, I will be sure to let you all know.

Okay, we've decided to keep it the same size (8x10) as the last book. The main reason (besides ease) is to cut down on cost. The larger format = higher cost.

I know, I know, I know. 150 words (approx. 800 characters) and 5 photos may not seem like a lot, but it will help us streamline the production of the book, and help keep our sanity. In regards to your usual review length, let's not think of these as reviews... but more like summaries... or really drill down on a specific experience or something... we'd like to not make these long, drawn-out reviews. Just think, that way, there is a better chance Celine will actually read them anyway.*

 

*Just as before, we have no way (as of yet) to get this book to Celine. Anyone with her personal number & address, feel free to PM me.
