Hey guys, would any body have a bit if time (the french knowers) to tell me a brief description of the song tour les de hommes (prob spelt wrong) but you know the one im talking bout. this will be the first time i will know any translation of any celine french song. im just too curious about this one? Thanks in advance

 

Literally it means all of Man's gold

 

The refrain basically says that all the gold in the world would mean nothing without having you by my side/if you are far away

All the love in the world will do nothing for me if you don't change.

i LOVE this album, its my favorite Celine french album (followed by Dion Chante Plamondon). It took me a while to get accustomed to listening to her french songs (my first was experience was D'eux), but now, I almost enjoy them more so than english! Even though I can't understand, I find that there's a beautiful language present in singing and music that doesn't matter what tongue the lyrics are in- its pure emotion. I can enjoy her french langueage songs in a ways that I could never the english, I can really focus on and hear the song- the melody, the vocals, the instruments- without getting caught up or distracted by the lyrics...

Crazy!! Especially since she sung songs from the album during the 2016 tour! I still love the album a lot. It's a different sound for her than most of her French albums. More folk.

 

I don't know what you mean with DMDB tho. I don't here a cut. They only changed (for the rest of the world) that Valse Adieu is a separate track and not a hidden song.

I truly have no idea what she is singing, but this is definitely one of my favorite albums. I wrote my “coming out” song when I was 17, while listening to Retiens-moi. I just started singing English lyrics off the top of my head randomly while listening, and wrote the entire set of lyrics in less than an hour afterwards. 1f4t was released during a very vulnerable period of self discovery for me. It drives me nuts, its one of my fav of the album… When she blows out of no where and belts : On ouvrirait tous les jours où nous serions moins FOOOORTTT, TOUS CES EMBRYONS D’AMOUR, TOUTES CES AUROREEESS

There are decent English translations of her French stuff on Google - highly recommended! You will dive into a new world! Her French songs cover a wide range of themes.

That is truly one of the great moments of the album - such power (and reverb)!

That this album and One Heart came out the same year was such perfect timing. They weren’t weighed down with pretension or crammed full with unnecessary fluff (*cough cough* ANDHC). Both albums carry a certain carefree attitude, so light and airy. Not exactly works of poetry, but not generic either. I could listen to both of these albums on repeat without ever skipping a track or bothering to change CDs. I wish they’d keep this “less is more” approach for any future releases.

It (the standard version) wasn't released in the US until later. I am referring to the special edition. I remember I also ordered the "Tout l'or des hommes" single with it.

The fact "Contre nature" is constantly ignored during tours is criminal. It's a lovely song that deserves recognition.

Actually, she performed this song during TF1 Show that was done in the colosseum promoting the “1 Fille Et 4 Types album”.
