For those who already have celinearound the world DVD or TCWT cd+ DVD can you please post some scans maybe it can help people like me who don't know which edition to buy ( i have to say i'm lost with all these releases). Thanks

The only pic that works for me on any of these releases is the cover for TTEOTW. That's perfect, everything else is pants. Period.

 

I don't get the choir behind Celine in the deluxe at all. It doesn't represent the release properly, it focuses too much attention on one part of the tour. They were only with her in Sth Africa, ok for the book inside, but the cover? Even that stunning outfit on Celine doesn't look as good as it should. And did anyone even look at the faces Celine is pulling on these photo's?

 

I reckon the design team gave the work experience guy far too much responsibility when they were putting these releases together.

yep that's totally true John, but just be thankful that they didn't use the same picture of the black dress for every release!!

 

and that picture bugs me the most, cos she freaking doesn't wear that dress in the concert! how difficult is it, to use a picture taken from the Boston or Montreal concert!?!? LAP was from Paris, ACDS was from Paris! AND...LIL was LAS VEGAS... get the point sony!?!??!

The photo they chose as front cover of this release sucks a great deal The cover photo of the CD/DVD is weak, but the cover of the deluxe edition is more from a United Colors of Benetton advert than a music concert DVD As you say, what's with the black women choir for a cover? I don't have anything against that, but NOT for a DVD cover

 

And what about the graphic design of this release? With those black bars hidding the pictures behind them? That big sucks

 

BTW, have you noticed that both covers have the same position of Céline's right hand in it? What's with that hand? Is a favourite gesture of the designer or what? It's like she's scolding someone or teaching something to the audience

 

EDIT: Now I know, the graphic designer in charge is a fan of Madonna's 1999 DVD

hahaha im glad im not the only one - yeah the Through the Eyes dvd cover has always been brilliant altho shes air brushed to hell - its at least visually impactful. The cd/dvd tho with that black dress and no background but black photo? what ISSSS that??? and the delux dvd yeh - united colours of beneton gone wrong - with the tineyest text at the top ....."CELINE" -uh....its so weak.

 

The picture of her singing on the friggin disk is better. I like the black bars and stuff - really nice effect but the images chosen are ridic. soooo ridiculous. Was watching an interview on youtube yesterday where rene was on the phone talking about it and in the poster in the backgroun they had a stunning photo of her looking over her shoulder all tousled hair in the gold dress for river deep......and im like.....why the F isnt that the cover??

 

The images make the tour look ultra boring.

We are all so right, God we should be designing her next release.

That is spot on about Beneton

 

Also I don't understand why nobody had the good sense to realise that they should have released the DVD/CD in a DVD case instead of in a CD sized digipak, they would have sold a lot more. People are surely much more likely to buy a "DVD" rather than a "CD" these days.

 

I would imagine in the record stores there's a lot more people browse the DVD section than the music section, since the digital revolution. Or am I just mad?

 

And much as I love having a CD version, really I think they could have forsaken the CD completley. Just concentrated on a 1 disc TTEOTW and a 2 disc TTEOTW/TC Concert, both in DVD & Blu Ray and specific to the English/French market.

 

Yeah Davey, the dress issue is stupid, just stupid.

Gee Davey, where did you find that mental All The Way CD? Design wise it's not great, collection wise it's fab.

I also love the VCD, hadn't seen that before. Is the tracklist the same as the DVD/VHS versions? Any differences inside or are you not going to unseal it?

 

Nice to see you got your conncert DVD, mine is in packing status at the moment. My French version has been posted out, should be here early next week. Can't wait. I have been so good not watching youtube clips.

 

The Laser Disc is great to have, don't blame you. I have all these records with no reord player, so I can relate to that. And the brochure? Isn't that a flyer, or does it have pages inside? Love the Asian programme, is there much difference, besides the fact that it's written in, what.. Japanese?

All in all, some really cool stuff.

I got it from the same seller as the tourbook! it was only 10 dollars or something! LOL about the vcd, what John said! LOL I thought it was the cd/dvd version! but it's oke, it;s my first vcd! haha but i think i'll keep it sealed.

 

my french version is also marked as send, but I am on holiday next week, so I think i won't hear it untill after the 17th!

 

I also got the LCD of TCOML concert and LAP... it's awesome to have them in a 12" format.. but that's about it!

 

oh yeah it's the flyer! and the asian one is written in english, but it has less pages than the european and us edition

Are all other videos the same version as the DVD (eg IYA?)

it's exactly the same as the Japanese version same catalogue number too, except for this one is made by Sony Music Asia, it doesn't say which country though! and the booklet is from more glossy thick paper

Yeah, as soon as I see you've got something I have to go out and track one down too! It was only a tenner, was happy with that. Only other one I've seen was for €35.

As you'd expect there's nothing exciting inside the boxset, no pic sleeves, but then I knew that already. But I didn't have any of these 7" before anyway, so I haven't doubled up. And it was my first buy in a while so I spent a bit more than I normally would have.

On the plus side I can now officially say I have a Michael Bolton collection!!
