EXCLUSIVE: "Taking Chances World Tour" CD/DVD

Apparently, Sony BMG confirmed us that the only upcoming release from Celine Dion is a live CD & DVD set for the end of the year 2008. No re-edition of TC nor GH set to be released at the moment.

 

ATTENTION: The release is listed as TBA (to be announced), meaning it may or may not happen in that very period, but for now it's the only release scheduled for 2008.

This reminds me of the release of "Au Coeur du Stade" back in 1999. The filming took place on June 19th and 20th, and the CD/DVD were officially released two months later on August 27th, 1999. That's only 65 days. Also, there were still many dates left for Celine to perform, in North America, after that release.

 

So, for them to film in Boston and Montreal in mid-August and release this CD/DVD at the end of this year, while World Tour is still going on, is not unusual.

cause i thought the dvd will have like 2 disc.. 1 for concert 1 for the making and celine tour the world..

I am not sad there won't be a rerelease of TC! this one is good enough! they just need to release the right singles! and I am very happy there's no GH slated!

 

But why is everything so rushed? the end of 2008? I guess they want to flow on the x-mas sales once again! But I still don't get why the first USA date is being filmed... they don't know how the tour will develop further (different songs etc)... but I guess Sony and René know best

well it is not so rushed! as Sopha remined us they did the same for ACDS, then dont you worry they can postpone it as I said in the first post!

if Celine is going to South America, Spain etc there won't be any footage from there nor from most of the American cities!!!! they will waste it again!!!!:(:( they said that there will be segment of Celine coming to different countries her trips etc but it won't coverage everything if it's gonna release this year... for me i can wait for it because i have already seen the concert and it doesn't need rush!

And the fact that they will not record the rest of the tour is god for us ( europeans and the cncerts before) because they will use more footages from "us"

Please, if it'll be a cd also, please,please release the WHOLE show on the cd. Please don't do another ACDS cd. As much as i like the cd it spoilt it for me knowing there's so many other songs missing.

well, look at the AND...LILV CD. Tons of songs were missing. I too will keep a spring 09 release in mind, so as not to be dissapointed at the end of 08.

I couldn't agree more. As you may know, I'm a huge Josh Groban's fan too, and his latest CD+DVD set is amazing in the DVD part, and very dissappointing in the CD part, with only 9 songs.

I don¡t know much on how this industry works, that's why it doesn't make any sense to me. I hardly ever listen to the CD, but I watch the DVD at least once a week....so I don't see the point of doing something like that. A 2 DVD set would have been way better.

They're gonna release it during Thanksgiving / Fall 2009, just in time for her 6th CBS Television Network Special and the end of her Taking Chances World Tour Leg#2!

And remeber the delay for the ''A new day...'' dvd, and when it finally was filmed in January 2007, it was not completed and released until December...

That was one show with extra's, these same guys have to do this again, but do a french and english show, and trust me editing takes a long time, lol.

 

So basically I'll not be excited until I have it in my hands.........

You can not compare these 2 projekts!

Ok, to be honest you can! The major goal of both was and is to make money. And the best season to make money is the christmas season - at the end of the year!

End of 2009 would be too late!

So for me it looks not that absurd....

 

But i have to agree with you, i will not be excited till i see it in stores and in my dvd player, we all know sony

Yeah as I said and as they said it can be postponed, but many artists release a dvd after 2 months taped it.

The most important thing to take in consideration it is that the only thing they are working on,It is this live project...no GH no re-edition of TC (they really dont know anything about those releases)

I totally understand......when I bought Live at the Greek, I was very disappointed with the CD....but the DVD is fantastic!!! I don't understand why all of the songs are not included on the CD.
