Well I just voted, but I'm a little disapointed with them, in the pic they show as lead performer of the 1996 olympics Gloria Estefan, and she did not, Celine sang the Hymn, Gloria just performed twice in that show, but the hymn was Celine's, or am I wrong?

Bellamy spoke to the organizer and he/she says that the choices are not limited to just the singers from the results. This is the largest poll, it has a great influence on how popular those singers are and of course the Olympic games organizer will take the poll results into account. Celine is quite popular over there.

yeah, I called the organizer of this poll today. they explained the purpose of this poll to me. the Olympics theme songs are far from ready to decide yet. they want this poll to reflect which singers are the most popular ones in China and worldwide. so they may take them as candidates for the Olympics theme songs later. and I think they will invite some most famours singers worldwide(not only limited in China) of course. so I think this poll is still very important for get Celine involved to the 2008 Olympic Games. I think if the organizer invite Celine to sing the theme song, Rene won't refuse it.
