Why is there no DVD of the Milliennium Concert?

well I still have the original videotape of the concert and although it is a bit washed out, like it always was, I can enhance it a lot.

So I am digitizing my old videotapes, have a lot more on videotape, and I was hoping to post some on the forum,

so I can share it with you all.

Yesterday was the 25th anniversary. I watched it again gosh i would love a bluray! They could have done a nice deluxe boxset including the bluray of the show + rehearsal, 2cd live, little book with pictures.

 

Her voice is so clear even if she doesnt think it is (god celine go listen the a new day live cd). Her look is perfect. The show is beautiful and the setlist is amazing! Only change i would make is replace the first time ever i saw your face and live for the one i love by the power of love and beauty and the beast. That would have been a really nice setlist representing her career.

If the rumor of Celine not liking the way she sounded is true then why was Paris released? Imo her vocal shape is much worse there. The exception is the French Medley where Paris is better.

I would guess contractual reasons to release Paris or they didnt want to waste the filming of her record breaking Stade De France shows of over 180,000 people. The tour album sold more then most studio albums do in France so in hindsight they were correct. There was no way they were going to leave that money on the table.

Vocally she wasn't at her best, but in HD with HQ audio, I am sure it would still be amazing. Because Celine even when she's not at her best is still so wonderful. It makes a particular impression especially nowadays given the fact that most of what we hear on the radio isn't exactly songs from world class singers like Celine.

I wonder if it's the same reason we didn't get DVD of last Vegas or any summer tours. If Celine didn't like her voice due to SPS, it would explain it I guess (especially that one tour that we know was recorded in London).

In my opinion, and I am maybe wrong, the only explanation is that they already release the concert of Paris which is from the same Tour as the Millenium concert, with the heart-shaped platform and most of the same songs since they were both perform for French audience.

Most of the same songs? If you look at the 20 song setlist of ACDS and the 25 song setlist of the Millennium concert, the only songs that are the same are:

My Heart Will Go On

Medley: 1. "Ce n'était qu'un rêve" 2. "D'amour ou d'amitié" 3. "Mon ami m'a quittée" 4. "Un garçon pas comme les autres (Ziggy)"

I'm Your Angel (but the duet was with Garou)

L'amour existe encore was performed as a solo song

Love Can Move Mountains

Pour que tu m'aimes encore

S’il suffisait d’aimer

 

the Millennium concert had an unique setlist with lots of songs she hadn't sang in year. It would have appealed both French and English audience! As we didn't get an English concert of the LTAL tour, this would have been a nice substitute! Plus the ambiance of that night was one of a kind!

It would be quicker for them to release this concert on streaming platforms if they don't want to bother with a physical release.
