I think the ring is awful but even if I liked it, $180K is crazy money. Celine owns FAR nicer pieces that cost FAR less and although she is free to spend her money on what she likes I personally think this is beyond extravagance, it's bordering on lunacy. Quote

The ring is beautiful. But nearly 2 mill. $ for that ?!?!?!?!?! - in what kind of STRANGE STRANGE world we are living. There are people who could easily but that ring ... and others are that poor that they don't know how to feed their children or how to pay for bread. It's far less than I expected actually, I mean it's Cartier, don't think they use anything lower than F in colour and VVS1/2 in clarity. It's quality diamonds and excellent craftsmanship, of course it costs. And to say that it's horrible to spend that amount on a piece of jewelry and that she should have donated that to charity is ridiculous to me. Come on, the woman gives SO much already, if she wants to get herself a piece of luxury then LET her and don't judge.. it's her money, she's not obliged to give ANYTHING to charity, but she DOES. Why is it never enough? how many of us gives millions away each decade anyway...
