tal-sh2 Posted June 2, 2008 at 08:06 PM Posted June 2, 2008 at 08:06 PM (edited) I have the great tracklist for the new Best-Of: 1. "Taking Chances" 2. "Alone" 3. "Eyes on Me" 4. "My Love" 5. "Shadow of Love" 6. "Surprise Surprise" 7. "This Time" 8. "New Dawn" 9. "A Song for You" 10. "A World to Believe In" 11. "Can't Fight the Feelin'" 12. "I Got Nothin' Left" 13. "Right Next to the Right One" 14. "Fade Away" 15. "That's Just the Woman in Me" 16. "Skies of L.A." 17. "Map To My Heart" 18. "The Reason I Go On" I changes my previous opinion. It's too early for think about this. First promote THIS album very good, than you'll have song to be called "hits" for a compliation Best Of. It's not like that? CelineFanInSoCal Posted June 2, 2008 at 08:12 PM Posted June 2, 2008 at 08:12 PM You know what, it would be a perfect chance for them to put "The Reason I Go On" and "Map To My Heart" on the CD----just using the Japanese master and calling that a "Collectors Edition" even though big fans already have these tracks. Perhaps they'll follow with the TV specials tradition and put "That's Just The Woman in me" special. That would be nice. Are you kidding me?! Nice? That'd be CRAP! And I was just about to post that they will probably do something like this sine this is their exact idea of a "special" edition, including not so much extra, and no matter how many times celinedion.com and sony say the word "exclusive" it still doesn't make the same old same old that exclusive to fans. And as for another best of: how can they even think there'd be further tracks (2002-) to put on a "best of"? They don't release singles, and when they do they don't promote them so no one knows she had anymore songs out, so you can't just pull a couple of tracks from ANDHC,OH and TC and add to a greatest hit album, coz no one can reffer to any of those as "hits". /fred HA HA HA! Yes indeed, Fred! I agree with you so much! In order to have a "best of" or "hits" album, there would have had to have been singles released that were actually hits! It's non-sense to think of a "best of" album, when there have been no great singles released. Almost embarrassing to think of, actually. [i'm thinking of All The Way... A Decade of Song, which was a decent compilation of older hits, but did an even better job of giving us something new to listen to since she was going on a break. Or how about Mariah's "#1's" album. That was another COHESIVE "best of" album, where all of them were number one hits.] There must be a better way of releasing old stuff, simply because they're really aren't any hit singles that have been released anytime soon. Let them do an "unreleased tracks" album with songs that we truly have never heard in their fully produced entirety. An album like that would do a few things: make them money: ca-ching! and it would also make fans happy [what's that again?! lol] and it could also show the world that she sings some uncommon things, and maybe attract different audiences. Who knows... Let them release the premier, 500th show and final show of A New Day on a triple DVD. I would spend my last penny to buy something like that. LOL Quote
A New Day Has Come Posted June 2, 2008 at 08:16 PM Posted June 2, 2008 at 08:16 PM I'm looking forward to her Best Of album I think it will be fantastic. Quote
Javito Posted June 2, 2008 at 08:16 PM Posted June 2, 2008 at 08:16 PM You know, that would be a nice compilation! LOL I know, but that's the album that includes all the singles that had never been singles, despite they were the best radio friendly candidates... Those are the songs that brilliant brains of Céline's team ignored, to release instead the worst songs and nosense covers! Quote "Hush, now... I see a light in the sky"

An album like that would do a few things: make them money: ca-ching! and it would also make fans happy [what's that again?! lol] and it could also show the world that she sings some uncommon things, and maybe attract different audiences. Who knows...You've been under a rock since 2002 haven't you? You and sony are practically soulmates then. But they wouldn't agree with your idea there. I and numerous of others have been begging for unreleased stuff so so many times. Many gathered to focus on a specific subject in order to sony to put their act together: a special edition of These Are Special Times, with left overs from that very album even the one which was b-side on TTWIS single (I Met An Angel On Christmas Day) would do, and along with this supposed rerelease hope to release songs which weren't singles from that album in order to promote it even further. Years went by, and sony answered..... *crickets* Well actually they did, but the crickets playing was even more exiting than their reply: the TAST "Special" Edition, featured the TAST album with the EXACT same tracks as before, NOTHING added, not even the already published I Met An Angel On Christmas Day. So what was so special about it? It was in a oh so slick and cheap digipack and it had a DVD - oh but don't get carried away - it contained the minimal CBS TAST Special which have had numerous reruns on TV ever since it aired in 1998. Gee, wow, crickets play it again, pleeeeaaase! Get my drift? Fans, who was being mocket by this release, actually bought this, and did so happily. So, will sony ever release something rare? Will they, when fans jump like vultures at every old piece of meat they throw at them? And pay full price for something they ALREADY HAVE?! Even sony aren't that stupid. /fred Quote Peace and love to all.

Do you know what they can still do? They can release an album called "Missing chances: the waisted singles" and then put in all the hot tracks that all the fans had wished during these 6 years that they should have been singles but they werent! PopMusicBoy Posted June 3, 2008 at 03:26 AM Posted June 3, 2008 at 03:26 AM Sony better actually promote the re-release if it's true and release the Eyes on Me Remix to radio. It's their last window of oppurtunity to make this album a hit because she'll be back in the U.S. at that point. Quote

Davey84 Posted June 3, 2008 at 11:17 AM Posted June 3, 2008 at 11:17 AM well sometimes you have these things that are called emotions Vole is a very emotional track and JJ said to Céline: this is a gift, I'm giving you, you don't have to record it... I think Céline had to think about the idea, just like This Time, cos it's a hard subject to think about! I'm not surprised it was recorded as one of the last songs... Also maybe when she finally did record it, and selecting songs for FIY, Céline felt she could transfer this beautiful message in English too... Javito Posted June 3, 2008 at 12:24 PM Posted June 3, 2008 at 12:24 PM Well in that case, that song would have fit more as a b-side on a single maybe? Because D'eux had greater songs to be versioned in english than Vole. That would've been the last one to translate IMO. For example Cherche Encore in english, or J'irai ou tu iras... I'll never understand some things! Vole was written and released 2 years before she recorded Fly for FIY. Vole was written as a special song by JJG just for Celine in memory of her niece Karine. JJG presented it to her and told her this is for you, you don't have to record it, but i wrote it just for you. It emoted everything she had been feeling about the situation with her niece and I actually don't think she thought twice about recording it. I think she did it almost instantly. It held such a special place for her that she recorded the english version for FIY. She didn't record FLY for commercial value, she recorded it for personal and sentimental value. So in all regards, with the meaning that Vole holds to Celine, it IS one of the best songs on D'eux. Alex_Incognito Posted June 3, 2008 at 09:11 PM Posted June 3, 2008 at 09:11 PM I'd HATE to see many of the "soundtrack" released songs as "bonus tracks." Those aren't bonuses if we already have them. "God Bless America", "Dance with my Father" can only belong on the compilations they came from, and maybe a huge anthology box set. Let's hope IF she does this soon (which I doubt) that she records new tracks, like "All The Way." Quote "People pay 20-25 dollars to see you."- Céline Dion, 1990
