zoe marie Posted May 30, 2008 at 11:03 PM Author Posted May 30, 2008 at 11:03 PM There has been a lot of b*tching on this topic recently and this makes me quite unhappy as the purpose of this topic wasn't to be nasty about other people and their views but to ask what their views were!!! I know that some people have other views on how people should live and they should be counted just as much as those who don't agree! When you live life through rose tinted glasses you believe that others should see the same, but people have differenT shades of tinted glasses-it doesn't mean that one shade is better than the other, just that they have a different vision of what life should be!!! If you don't ask, you don't getIf you don't look, you don't seeIf you don't try, you don't succeedSo what do YOU say to Taking Chances??? zoe marie Posted July 29, 2008 at 08:27 AM Author Posted July 29, 2008 at 08:27 AM (edited) I originally started this topic to get your views on a somewhat controversial issue, since then I have realised that there are many views which haven't been covered, views that I never expected and views that were expected! The surprise for me personally is that since I started this topic I have realised who I truly am (sort of)! The person I thought I was , was a shy and timid person who would only say the thoughts I thought people wanted to hear. I would always say yes if they wanted yes and no if they wanted no. The difference between then and now? I became the person I am meant to be. I'm Bi-sexual and in love with my female best friend, I'm loved for who I truly am instead of the disguise and I'm happier than I've ever been!I have been confused my whole life and now I'm not, so if you're reading this and need a friendly ear then here I am!!! If someone loves you,Never let them go,For one day you'll regret it,And you should never know,The pain that, that may bring,To you and your heart,From now until forever,May you never be apart! Becky you're my shining star on the darkest of nights and all my heart desires! CelineRules! Posted July 29, 2008 at 09:31 AM Posted July 29, 2008 at 09:31 AM I Dissagree with some of you guys....I Believe NOBODY is born Gay or Lesbian...that's their lifestyle choice If I read or hear one more time that being gay i a CHOICE, I swear, you'll hear me scream to wherever you are! To all those people out there who think this ridiculous statement is true, please take this decision: - From now on I CHOOSE to only fall in love with people with blue eyes and brown hair! Good luck on that one... Tell me how that works out for you... If you could choose who you fall in love with, than life would be so much easier wouldn't it? Then my mother would have never fallen for that a$$hole of a 'father' of mine and she would have had the life she deserved... I fall in love with people and I couldn't care less if they're male or female... I just feel lucky to have someone that cares for me... Quote

Um....people are gay....they are telling you that its not a choice.... Dont be so arrogant to talk about something if your so ill informed about it and that doesnt apply to you. How does that make you qualified??? Its like me saying you chose to be straight even though u know yourself that you cold never love a person of same sex. Hahaha....crazy. I wish I could say that but they are possibly most of my friends and family seeing as they don't know!!! The only people that do are my son of four years, my girlfriend and one of my best friends, so I guess right now I'm scared of the reaction of them all. I wish I could say that I don't care but I do as I would hate to lose them to ignorance!!!The one saving grace in this situation is that I have a girlfriend who loves me, that I can trust implicitly and I have never been happier! I wish anyone in this same situation the best of luck as I know it's scarey as hell not knowing what others will think especially those that are close to your heart! I should be more specific when I say things sometimes... I didn't mean that I have a girlfriend. I'm happy 'cause I'm no longer wondering what's wrong with me but on the other hand... It would be easier to be straight. Allysadreams Posted August 8, 2008 at 02:01 PM Posted August 8, 2008 at 02:01 PM I Dissagree with some of you guys....I Believe NOBODY is born Gay or Lesbian...that's their lifestyle choice...and I don't really care what people choose, but in every single book of warship Like: the Bible , Koran ect all say Gays and Lesbians are making sins in the name of god...and I Agree....I'm Straight and I think every man and women are born that why until their brain tells them otherwise....WHICH is a SIN-Nmj Sorry but i disagree with you, i am 100% straight female but i don't think people choose to be different thats how they are and what makes them different, maybe we are the different ones?! If you are going to talk about the bible then have you also read the part about not judging your neighbour. You know what i believe as long as some one is happy and isn't hurting anyone, what is the problem? I think and i KNOW that most people don't choose to be considered different its the labels other people put on them, i believe most gay people are born gay and most straight people are born straight, its the chemicals etc plus how your brought up can be a factor too like if you are bought up in a liberal household if you're gay you will accept yourself but on the other hand if you're not then it will be harder for you to accept yourself. My brother is gay, i love him to death, i support who he is and i don't label him, he a lovely person with very good morals who will one day want to meet a lovely guy and who knows from there?! He is not a sin, he's a human being with feelings and i don't want to be apart of anything that tells me otherwise. I'm not judging you so please don't think that, you ahve your views and i respect that, i do, you can't blame what you ahve been taught but surely as long as someone is happy nad living life and contributing to a peaceful world then where is the sin?! After all these wars you would think humans would learn one thing to unite together for peace and hope for a better day, thats my power of a dream *celine song at the olympics Atlanta* lol Quote 'Love Doesn't Ask Why, it speaks from the heart.....'
Allysadreams Posted August 8, 2008 at 02:13 PM Posted August 8, 2008 at 02:13 PM Especially being a Celine fan and knowing how Celine feels about gays and that she has spoken out about it, and even about her own son if he is, in fact, gay. I know it bothers me when people can be cruel and ignorant! What did Celine say about Gay people, my brother is a fan of Celine's too and he'd like to know i am sure. I know it wouldn't be anything bad as she has been on Rosie O'Donnells show and Ellens show........ Quote 'Love Doesn't Ask Why, it speaks from the heart.....'

LVCeline Posted August 9, 2008 at 02:49 PM Posted August 9, 2008 at 02:49 PM This is an age old argument that will never see victory on either side. People will always argue this and no side will ever agree with the other it seems like. You either believe it's okay to be gay or it's not okay to be gay. You either think God doesn't approve or you think God does approve. There is no way to prove either side, so the main thing is EVERYONE needs to practice tolerance for others beliefs. I don't believe either side should preach their opinion as fact. What everyone needs to do is agree to disagree and let everyone live their own lives. That said, here are my OPINIONS: I can't understand how straight people think it's a choice to be gay. I haven't heard a single logical answer to that statement. I understand that as saying basically everyone is bisexual and at a certain point in their life they choose to go one way or another. My mother or father could at any time choose to be gay and they would be perfectly happy and attracted to members of the same gender, they just choose not to. That's completely and utterly ridiculous. You cannot choose who you are attracted to. Everyone knows that when you look at a person you either find them attractive or not. It's not a conscious decision. I also don't understand how people throw out the Bible and preach it as fact, and use it to spread hate and negativity. It's basically used as a tool for fear and control these days. People read this book and tell others how to live their life by it. "The bible says....so this is what you should do or you're going to hell." It's one of biggest crocks I've ever heard in my life. People are following a book that was written god knows how long ago, by god knows who. I have no problem with anyone believing in such a book, but I do not believe it is right for people to press this belief on anyone else. Mainstream religion has gotten so twisted these days, it's strictly used as fear factor. Nobody preaches any of the good things written in it, they only use the negative to control and scare people into thinking what they want you to think. Families turn away their own flesh and blood because "The Bible" says it's wrong to be gay. It's completely disgusting to me. Thousands of gay teenagers are taking their own lives because their families and society do not accept them because of something a damn book says! A FREAKING BOOK. How about people think and form opinions for themselves? Don't go by what something tells you to believe, form your own thoughts, and worry about your own "salvation." Judge someone by their character and the things they do and the way they treat others if you must judge at all. Simply hating someone because of something as trivial as an orientation is just absurd and completely ignorant. I myself am gay, and I couldn't care less if someone else disagrees with that. I simply cannot help the fact that I'm gay and I'm sure as hell not going to sacrifice my happiness because some people think it's "wrong." What I do in my bedroom is nobody's business and has absolutely no effect on anyone else but me. Who I marry has absolutely no effect on anyone but me. People need to worry more about their own lives instead of telling others who they should be with and how they should live their lives. Quote
