Actually the next album supposed to be in french, they always released them like that, so i think the name is something like "Chances Absentes".....

This thread is a very creative one and it shows the reality what's been happening in fact. Even though we may deny that both Celine and Rene aren't into all this, but we should always remember that Celine chose to do this i.e., singing... and if she still wants to do it, she should be devoted. As in the Recordings Sessions of TCH (and mnay other interviews), Celine herself said that she wants to keep on singing now more than before not because she has to but because she wants to. If this is her way, then I'd reckon she stop doing it professionally and keep the singing for all her family members (She can keep singing then even, can't she?)

 

Yes, Sony (and Celine's promotion and publicity team) is to blame for most of it but even Celine and Rene are part of it. C'mon, no matter how much she says that she's not part of anything other than the singing, she has to know what's going on around the world with her songs and image. Denying her attachment to everything else other than singing makes her songs and image too unprofessional-like and that would be just a joke because she's been doing for over what, more than 26 years now?

 

All these have been said and explained well in a satirical manner by Joey and closing this thread would be just too anarchist.

 

Besides, if someone from Sony does read this, they'd come to know how frustrated we fans are about her not doing well in the charts. Her tours will definitely sell because fans are devoted but the same can't be said about her chartings and her position in the music industry today. Hopefully, someone would take notice how serious we are about her career being salvaged.

 

And for those who can't find the sadistic humour in this thread, just read the first post once again... slowly and clearly... and just analyze Celine's present career to what has been mentioned. I am sure that deep down you'll realize that it indeed is true.

 

So I just request the mods and the admins to please not close this thread cos Joey clearly has said what most of us have been feeling but couldn't express it and put that in words as aptly as Joey did.

 

I really love what you said,I love celine so much,but some people hear think that loving a person means you should worship that person,it is not true we are human beings and we are not perfect.

And when we complain about something about celine it does not mean that we disrespect her or we don't love her,it means we want her to get better,if she says what she do is only singing and she doesn't choose anything it is nonsense ,it sounds like celine is only a singing machine,no choices,and no decisions and no creativity.

if she can't write her songs she can produce some of them,I got frustrated when I see oother people always tell her how to sing, like"strech this note this long,or do that" I don't like it really.

And I hate releasing bad videos,bad singles and so on if Celine don't have time to do good things it is better to do nothing at least she doesn't riun her image and what she has done before. even in 90s we see release of bad singles.

Have any of you actually thought that maybe Celine doesnt want to do tv or radio promotions as she's done that most of her life. And that its not Sony! I would have thought she owns them rather then the other way round they cannot afford to lose her.

 

The tour in itself is alot promotion of her material on 'Taking Chances' and I think if she was to go on every tv show...or do lots of promotion work it would take her away from time with her family.

Rene-Charles is still at an age where having his Mum and Dad around him as much as possible is important.

The 5years in Las Vegas gave her the opportunity to watch her son growing up.

Most parents would kill to spend more time with their children and so Celine no different in wanting to do that.

Yes Sony could probably do abit more...do more advertisements..commercials.

I've got nothing against the thread anymore as i see why its been written. But IMO i still dont agree with whats been written

I enjoyed the post ....its a bit of fun .....none of us as fans can be happy with how celine's career has changed since she went to Vegas...and certainly sony's decisions re single choices and promotion leave a lot to be desired..... so if a celine fan can get these frustrations across in a post that is humorous and give some of us something to smile about....whats the problem guys???

This is a discussions forum and though we may not agree with what people have to say but we can listen to their opinion RESPECT it and add our own views to the melting pot......All of us here are fans of Celine and her music but that doesn't mean we have to agree/like all of Celine's/ sonys choices, we can still have our own opinions....and here amoungst fellow fans on a discussions board we should be able to post them.

Couldn't agree more. I think the contact for Caesars was a masterstroke - biggest music contract EVER, time to watch Rene-Charles growing up, 5 years totally sold out - if it wasn't such a good idea, how come so many of us went flocking to Vegas to watch her?

Agree on the lack of promotion for Taking Chances though.
