"I Drove All Night" as the opening song

Do you think "I Drove All Night" is the right choice to open the concert? Do you think the song can mesmerize the audiences?

 

To me, IDAN completely fails to fascinate people. As Celine appears on the stage, audience don't scream so loud like the way it should be. And when it ends, people still seem to hesitate to applause. Do you think it's the right choice?

i do as it ties in with the opening video...

 

but i think she should wear a similar if not identical outfit to what she wears in the video when she first arrives on stage, it will flow better, and she looks hot in skinny jeans and that coat she has in the video!! :)

The black dress has to go....sorry celine :P

I think it works because she's on a world tour and she drove all night to get to your city! :D

 

But maybe something big like TPOL or even TC might work better as the opening song to make the audience scream a bit more!

I feel neither good nor bad about this. I love it when she sings it acapella when she appears, hates when the playback kicks in.

 

I would howver prefer having MHWGO as opening track, simply to get it over and done with - as the Millennium Concert, brilliant move! :thumbsup2:

I think it's a good choice concerning the "arrival" to each city of the concert (even if we know she rather flies than drives, hehe) but Darren's idea would make this opening even better!

Darren, maybe you can give René a call so they can arrange it before the tour kicks off in Europe?? ;) :lol:

 

MHWGO as an opening song would do great as well, much better than as an encore... but I doubt it will ever happen... :/

"I drove all night to get to you, is that alright?" nothing says opening act than that. Perfect opening song, up-tempo with a great sort of acapella intro... LOVE IT

im glad some fans agree with my idea, but hey it makes sense right!! lol

I know people close to celine visit the forum, and i told her 3 assistants about it, when I met them in london in oct, so I'd love this to get back to Celine, just to see what she thinks...lol

But hey its her show, i'm just a fan :P he he

Yeah, of course we are only fans but after all, that's who make a celebrity exist as celebrity - her/his fans, right? ;)

And we have right to have our opinions and ideas and if they are good, why not sharing them with the celebrity her/himself? ;)

 

Wish Céline would get to know about this idea and think of it.... ;)

I agree with Darren.... I also think TC would be a nice opening.... she could scream "what do YOU say (country)??" instead of "is that alright (country)??". Also it would start nice, in acapella....then it gets up-tempo. B)

It wouldnt have been my first choice but considering the intro video (which I love very much), I think it's cool! I love what they did with the music and the a cappella thing... but maybe she should have switched to another song right after...I dont like the way it cuts in between the acapella part and the real version...

I think it's a great song to start off with, plus it makes perfect sense. (It helps that IDAN is one of my favorite songs.) Shakira did something very similar. In her Oral Fixation Tour, she started off with a song called Estoy Aqui (I Am Here). My like I Drove All Night, it fits with the theme.

My only other choice would be to open with 'Simply the Best'...edgy, upbeat intro...and she could say...'Your simply the best (then the country where she is) you are better than all the rest'...which certainly would get the crowd going...and it would be a brilliant opening.

 

RDMH could also work...

 

TPOL has been done...

 

Taking Chances is one of my fav songs...but I wouldn't want that as the opening number...

i hope she keeps ''got the music in me'' out of the show...it just doesn't fit and shes got enough songs from other people in the show ie. queen, and james brown.... she could add anoher great recent song of hers from the last 6 years maybe that shes never performed before, that would be great!!! :) ( naked or i aint gonna look the other way... maybe) imagine!!! :wub: lol. The video intro is great, the 4 accapella lines as a transition too. but the IDAN playback is way too much and a shame to start a show.

guys, If you actually SEE this show, you will realise just how fantastic and EXPLOSIVE it is to have this song as the opener.

 

The intro video is the most amazing I have ever seen in a show, with remix is stunnin g and she looks like such a HOT HOT DIVA, it encapsulates her whole career, and it is explosive and dynamic.

 

and then the diva herself actually comes out and singles with so much energy.....the crowd absolutely ate it up at my show.

I actually miss I Got The Music In Me. And about too many covers, I'd rather have them loose We Will Rock You and Barneys mini concert. Too bad they took out IGTMIM, guess it didn't fit the overall booring theme they had in mind. :shrug:

 

It would be interesting if she started the concert with Tonight We Dance (Extravagance) which she recorded for Tycoon.
