Just two weeks before the concert, I came across an SMS contest to win a pair of tickets. So, I thought I could try it out since I have so much credit left in my cellphone. On the following week, I was driving to work and a call came in. The guy on the line said this, “Hello. I am calling in regard to the Celine Dion SMS contest and congratulation because you are one of the Top 10 fastest.” I was like, “Are you sure?? OMG! Thank you so much! OMG! I really won? OMG!” The RM30 credit that I dumped into the contest really paid off! Although the tickets worth RM288 each (ONLY!), it was better than not winning any.

 

Hey Celine's Blues! The contest you're talking about... its the LiteFm one right?? I won 2 tickets too!! lol

I had already bought 2 tickets in March.. but i thought.. why not give it a try.. no harm after all..

I didn't have that much credit to spare... so I used my mom and dads phone too

The following week, my mom got a call from LiteFm... and she thought the guy who called was a scam.. hahah.. poor guy... but its my fault.. I forgot to tell her!

Ans: For Malaysia and for many many places around the world, everywhere is pretty much the same. Hard work pays off. It's not giving to everyone to succeed probably not. It's very frustrating for me to say to you that I was lucky. You don't want to hear that. It's not satisfying to everyone to just say "Oh she was very lucky". There must be something else! Luck is very important, timing is very important, talent is important as well! But I don't think it's the main thing. It is extremely important to have the people around you to support you, to see you, to encourage you. I was extremely lucky. My luck didn't come from the star above. My luck came from my manager, who is my husband, who always assured me, always wanted to make sure that I was surrounded by the best people not because of sell of record. When I started, nothing was reassuring him that I was going to be a successful artist. We had no money. We had a passion. We believe a dream is very important, passion is very important, hard work is very important. No one wanted to put money on a 12 year old girl. You can't just knock on somebody's door and say "I'm a great singer. Can you put money on me? And can I have a career please because I'm gonna work really hard?". It's not as simple as that but the people around you is important, the family and wonderful management is the key, I think.

I like when celine answer it...especially when she said"there must be something else"...she stressed the phrases very well....and it has lots of meaning for people out there who wants to become a singer...its not as easy as they see......what u see is not what u think heheheh....
