Hey guys. I mentioned on the 13th, that I was able to give one of Celine's bodyguards a letter. Well, I woke up this morning to my dad saying "hey, you got a package from Celine". Of course, he was just being sarcastic, but little did he know, IT WAS FROM CELINE. haha. She sent me this autograph back! I'm gonna be realistic and say that her assistant probaly signed it since it was from Feeling Productions, but what a nice gesture! It was so fast too! That just seriously made this night the best ever haha.

Singing to a sold out house at Nassau Coliseum this past Thursday, it was clear that Celine Dion has not lost her thunder. At age 40, she still sings, dances and entertains with the best of 'em while still forever maintaining the aura of diva.

 

The only unfortunate part of Dion's "Taking Chances" tour was her opening act. Gordie Brown, an entertainer hailing from Las Vegas, was a disappointment to a much-hyped-up crowd. He was cheesy, his jokes were overdone and his level of performance was so far below that of Dion that it completely killed the enthusiasm of the audience.

 

Any excitement that was lost in the opening act however was gained back and then exceeded upon Dion's grand entrance. Once she took the stage, the Coliseum exploded with applause and screaming from an audience that ranged between nine to 90-year-olds. The show opened with her popular song "I Drove All Night" and the energy was infectious from that point on.

 

Highlights of the show were without a doubt the old favorites. Dion's performance of "Because You Loved Me" brought most of the crowd to tears. It was incredibly moving because she has such passion in her voice and truly commits to the song. "It's All Coming Back to Me Now" received the best response from the crowd, proving to be the favorite Dion ballad.

 

The most remarkable thing about the whole concert was the high caliber of entertainment. You would never have known that Dion has sung these songs and done this same choreography hundreds of times. Even after such a long accomplished career she still performs with the same enthusiasm and heart as if it were her first time. The great level of modesty she expressed several times throughout the evening compliments these traits even more.

 

The show was incredibly involved with at least six costume changes, several of which that included shoes that even the most graceful 20-something would topple over in. As a whole, the aesthetic of the show was flashy and youthful but also very creative. The back-up dancers were extremely talented and really worked the whole stage to their advantage, always complementing Dion without overpowering her.

 

The grand finale of the show was a performance of "My Heart Will Go On," the theme song from "Titanic." A lighting technique was used to give the illusion of the stage being candle-lit. Dion sang the song dramatically dressed in black from head to toe. A song that is typically overplayed on radio and television was given new life when heard live.

 

If nothing else, the Celine Dion "Taking Chances" tour proves that she's still got it. She is looking and performing better than ever and is able to maintain an attitude of humbleness that is so rare.

By the way, I so well know what do you mean by those rude guys yelling for autographs every time at the hotel... As you know, Céline stayed one entire month in Berlin and there were really same kind of guys who were there like EVERYTIME she left or entered the hotel!! The guys were very rude, they were asking for zillions of autographs and of course they've been selling them on eBay later on... I saw some of them going for like 60 Euros for one signed photo!! Crazy! And there are people who buy them...

These guys always have 'connections' among aiports' and hotels' coworkers and they knew exactely when Céline will leave or arrive... They haven't waited for long like some other fans. They usueally came just a short time before and than kept pushing to get forward... And they were so dumb, they didn't really knew about Céline... I think one of them was more than proud to announce to the others: "I have a DVD of hers"! They hardly knew a thing about her and her career and releases... For them, the only important factor is that she's very famous, no matter what she's doing, and they can earn big bucks for her autographs.... How sad... Of course Céline bodyguards recognized them very well after a few times and they perfectly knew who were fans among the waiting people and who not. They tried to avoid those guys of getting more autographs... That's just Céline being too kind to everybody so she couldn't also say 'no' to those weirdos and signed their crapily printed pics...

Hey, Laura, I'm so happy for you!!! I've told you more times that I'm sure your letter did arrived to Céline and now you see?! You even got a proof for this and a great souvenir!

But what do you mean by "her assistant signed it"?!! It's real Céline Dion signature especially for you, with your name! I don't understand what do you mean?? Can you explain better?

See my signature, I got the same kind of gift from Céline and I have no doubt it's real her her handwritting signed solely for me. My package came from Berlin as she's been staying there for more weeks. Yours came from Montréal, because she's been there a lot lately and I'm sure she could get her outgoing mail organized much better there at their company than at any hotel when she stayed just for a short time.

I saw a bid of an autograph from NYC on ebay for more than $200. They suck. Celine should refuse to sign non-genuine items. I know some singers do that.

yes pic done at the same time in afternoon I have to ask at céline if it's possible to make a picture with her after the show and she have to say "ok promised" when she have to see me after the show, she have to say at her bodyguard "it's ok I staying here because I promised a picture with her ..." and after she have to pose with everybody she was so nice one more time

OH MY GOSH.. this is wonderful girl! Okay, i have high hopes now..

 

Im bringing my letter to the show but im just so scared that I wont be able to get to the floor to see her when she leaves.. i was watching someone's video of it and the bodyguards push her along so quickly that theres no way that she can see everyone.. plus.. it looks dangerous down there.. everyone yelling, pushing, and even tugging on Celine.. im afraid i'll just be too soft about it all.. But thats hwo u got ur letter to her, right?
