Just spoke to my contact at Sony uk, and I can confirm that ''Alone'' will be the next single to released in the uk on May 5th, the day Celine kicks off the uk leg of the tour!

It will be released for download only, and the video is to be confirmed!

I am afraid I have to agree ...... realeasing Alone as a download single in May will be far to late. That particular track is already way past it's sel by date from previous promotion.

 

A single release at the time of Celine's concerts here in the UK is a great idea but sadly I feel Sony have once again picked the wrong song. The Album has so many excellent tracks that with the correct promotion would push Celine's profile to the forefront once more in the UK during May ....... "Shadow of Love" would seem a much better choice to me, but hey ho who are we but mere Fans .... what would we know !!!

Its already available for download only as an album track...god what are they playing at...it has already charted and is unlikely to chart again especially as a download.

 

It seems to me they want all the songs to fail and its an excuse for them not to promote celine which is very sad...OOH well guys. I really dont feel the album is going to do any better with their choices...even with the tour I cant see much of a boost because although the tour is sold out here there is no real momentum nor is there anything new because in my opinion "Alone" is typical old Celine and is nothing new.

She kicks off UK leg on 2nd but irrelevant...Alone isn't a summer single. They've got all this messed about. No point complaining cos we can't do anything about it but they should have pushed and promoted EOM or SOL for the summer and had Alone as a wintry, dark single. Oh well. I know what you are all saying, but....

We moaned when Sony released 'tc' (single) without a physical cd release, then 'eom' was released in stores but without a video and some complained (including me) but.......

 

It comes down to celines schedule, with this world tour, shes just to busy to record a new video....the next time off she gets is a month from july to august....

Unless she records a video then for a new single...

Shadow of love, fade away, this time, and surprise surprise, if i'm not mistaken was fan favourites for the next single, but celine has not sung these on any tv shows for these even to released as a video to accompany these, so I guess thats why they are not the next single!

 

I think its smart that sony release 'a' single from the album on the day that celine arrives here in the uk, it may not be the song/single that we all want, but they have to work with what they got I guess....

 

I will be giving away 3 promo cds of the single closer to the time of its release if anyones interested in winning one.

 

And, Sony are hoping to get celine to do a single signing of the new single when shes here, but her schedule is tight at present........so I'll hopefully have more info. on this and more soon!

i don't think so.. j.lo, brit and alicia keys are all from sony bmg, and they are all ready for their 3rd single..i really don't know what really is going on. who's to blame? sony bmg? rene? celine? who??? sony bmg is doing a great job promoting these 3 artists, even the flop BRAVE is releasing it's 3rd single.

Great news. At last sony decides to release a song that might actually work!

 

However, I fear they may have missed the boat on this one... Many non-Celine fans were talking about this song and seemed to actually like it. I even heard people talking about it on the bus which has never happened before (believe me, if Celine is mentioned anywhere outside my own little world, then I sit up and pay attention!)

 

Anyway, that was in November. People (in th UK) were talking more about Alone than they were about Taking Chances. Yet still they decide to release Eyes On Me.

 

I won't complain because I still feel it is a song that could still enjoy moderate success in th UK. Just wish they had realised it sooner...!

Picking "Alone" as the second single is not relevant anymore. it has been played already. We need a new one. Not "Eyes On Me". Maybe "That's Just The Woman In Me" or "A World To Believe In" or "This Time".

"Alone" is a great choice for a single, It's a well known song and received considerable attention when "Taking Chances" was released.

 

I just hope that Sony UK actually are a bit proactive with this single as yes, they released Eyes On Me physically but did nothing else with it. I hope "Alone" receives a bit more attention. Sening the song to one radio station in the UK (Radio 2) is NOT promotion. It's a start but no-where near good enough for Celine, especially if they insist on releasing it as download only. As for a video, well I kind of see their point there. No one will play it anyway so what's the point, however the other side of that argument is if they don't make one how can anyone have the choice to play it?

 

Another thing, how can Celine do a single signing session if the single is download only? LOL.

 

But yeah, "Alone" is a good choice for a single (as was "Eyes On Me") but if it gets the same amount of effort "Eyes On Me" did from Sony then everyone is wasting their time.

 

Here's hoping for a change though.

to make things clear, i was referring to sony's strategy with celine... releasing an album and not doing an effort on promoting the singles, on radio and music tv channels with videos

thats what irritates me. i mean, j.lo's album is a flop and it gets more promotion with singles and videos than celine's album which is far better than Brave.

kylie released her album around the same time as Celine and she's releasing a 3rd single. but with Celine, we have to wait till May for a 3rd single
