Okay... so I finally caved in!

 

After more than two weeks of avoiding videos and audios, I finally listened to Fade Away from the Pretoria concert...

Oh... My.... GOD!!!

 

Celine sounds and looks amazing. Such a shame the song seems to have been removed from the setlist but who knows... it might yet make a triumphant return!

Like somebody else said earlier in this thread, she makes singing the high notes seem so effortless... Such a powerful song and she sings it faultlessly!

 

Now, do I watch and listen to the other bootlegs or do I bide my time until I get to see the show myself...

I dont know about all the other shows, I was at the PE show, and everything was defenitely live! I was very close to the stage. Golden Circle VIP. No playbacks, you can hear something like that immediately.

And can somebody please explain what kind of person gets a €150 ticket to a Céline Dion concert and sists and chit chat DURING the concert with eachother?! Those babbeling guys are so annoying. I mean what is that? When I was at a Diana Krall concert some guys behind me sat and talked and the woman next to me turned around and asked them to shut up, seriously, we pay to hear the artist song not to hear eachother talk.

I know...! My thoughts exactly.

I was watching some of the videos before and I couldn't believe it.

 

It's like a Mother's meeting, and Celine just happens to be singing in the background! I'd understand if this was a free concert with different acts and some people weren't fans of Celine but they have spent a lot of momey on these tickets. They seem to be talking all the way through ABM. It's like they've ran into each other in the supermarket and are having a good old gossip. I don't get it...!

Saturday, 16th of February 2008 came fast and I was beyond busy as always. When the time came for me to make ready for the concert I excited. I went to my mother and later on we drove to the stadium. We were not surprised at the traffic, since the traffic is usually this messy when there is a game on at the stadium.

 

 

18:00 - We parked a block away and as we walked to the stadium we could her Celine Sing, she was doing sound testing (I believe) she was singing "I've got the music in me" and it sounded like a really great song the way she sang it.

 

 

We walked up and down the street looking for the gate we were suppose to enter, since gate 1 (one of the gates we were suppose to enter) was for VIP's only. So we had to search for the other gate (gate 6). After we finally found it, after we had to ask one of the security guards, we made ourselves at home one the grass since it was still a good hour before the gates opened LOL.

 

 

While we waited some of the staff members was walking through the crowd selling Celine merchandise, so I bought the tour book, which contains tons of amazing Celine pictures

 

 

19:00 - When the gates finally opened enter the station and went on the journey to find our seats. Once seated it was a full hour before the show started LOL... So we were sitting staring at our watches waiting for 8 o'clock.

 

 

20:00 - One radio presenter walked on the stage and announced that Jodi will be opening the show. Our latest Idol winner Jodi walked up the stage and started to sing. She sang a few a songs.

 

 

20:30 - Jodi was finished and have to say that it was a rather very unprofessional. Now I know she is new and all, but one does not sing a song and after the song admits that she made a few mistakes....

 

 

20:30 - 21:00 Waited in silence once again for the real show to begin.

 

 

21:00 - The lights went off and the crowd screamed. We knew then it was finally time we have been waiting for. The big screens light up and a very amazing "Commercial" type of thing of Celine came up. It was a video where Celine was walking on a stage and on the stage a very nice car was parked. She walked to the car and she got in, the she started up the engin and off the spins. The images moved and she is then seen driving in the desert with the car. (there are nice pictures of this in the Tour book)

 

 

Once the video was over one light on the stage turned on and in the light stood - CELINE in a nice black and silver (sleeveless) outfit! And the crowd went wild!

 

 

No time was waited and more lights on the stage light up and Celine started to sing her first song "I've Got The Music In Me". After the song she gave a short speech of starting her tour right and starting it in South Africa, etc..

 

 

The started to sang her next song "The Power Of Love" followed by "Taking Chances" then she left the stage while an instrumental song "New Mego's Flamenco" was played.

 

 

She returned in a white blouse and red slacks and filled the air with her next song the classic hit "It's All coming Back To Me Now". The song was followed by "Because you Loved Me" and "To Love You More". She took off her gloves and the next song "Eyes On Me" was sang driving the crowd crazy when the one dancer rips off a part of her outfit. The song was followed by "All By Myself" while a part of this song Celine sang without any music. One could clearly hear her flawless voice and one could clearly hear that she was really singing.

 

 

She left the stage once again and when she returned she was wearing an glittering outfit. An unknown upbeat song started to play and then she started to sing "I'm Alive" revealing an amazing remix of the song. This song was followed by the songs "Shadow Of Love", "Fade Away", "I'm your Angel" (which she sang with one of her back up vocalists) and "Alone". She then took a quick moment to explain that she could not have a world tour without singing at least one song in french and that her next song will be just that, a french song "Pour Que Tu M'aimes Encore" (If that’s what it takes). The song was followed by "Think Twice" and Celine left the stage once again, while her band and back up vocalists sang "We Will Rock you".

 

 

Celine returned with a black outfit and sang "The Show Must Go On" while video images of Queen and his band on tours was playing on the big screen. After this song she left the stage again while her band and back up vocalists sang "Soul Man" and "Lady Marmalade". Very nicely I have to say, I'm not a fan of those songs but they sang it very nicely.

 

 

She returned in a white short dress with white boots and filled the air with the song "It's a Man's World". The song was followed by "That's Just the Woman In Me", "Love Can Move Mountains" and "River Deep Mountain High". After "River Deep Mountain High" she said thank you and goodnight before leaving the stage again. The lights were all off.

 

 

We were all sad and before everyone stood up, the music started to play again. When the lights was turned on again, Celine was standing on the stage in a beautiful long yellow evening dress and she filled our hearts with one last song "My Heart Will Go On". After the song she said goodnight and gave us a bow before leaving the stage for real
