fred Posted February 22, 2008 at 03:04 PM Posted February 22, 2008 at 03:04 PM ABM - wow, what a power house, no I did not expect it.... nothing to proove anymore uh? SOL - sounded wonderful and more rocky in its live arrengements... however the backing vocals was a bit lame for this one... It felt like Céline was in a karaoke club. And I still miss Surprise, Surprise, it is the most well written track on Taking Chances... /fred Quote Peace and love to all.
stevo Posted February 22, 2008 at 03:14 PM Posted February 22, 2008 at 03:14 PM I said I wasn't going to look at or listen to anything and I've just watched FA. Dear Jesus. It was brilliant- I agree with Seb- she makes it seem so easy. This is why I fell in love with Celine. She is the best singer on the planet- she's the most professional, brilliant and technically capable pop singer in the world. And I also just clicked the immediately above link and saw the tourbook pictures. MY GOD. Get this link to Perez immediately. Thank you Jane again and welcome and thank you to Newbie deuterium Quote
mirage Posted February 22, 2008 at 03:27 PM Posted February 22, 2008 at 03:27 PM looking at those vids i'm sure the central stage would be a lot better for the whole concert...it looks soooo small with the dancers, the musicans and everything... cant wait Quote
celbabs Posted February 22, 2008 at 04:41 PM Posted February 22, 2008 at 04:41 PM All of these clips for the show are simply amazing and, if I haven't said it before, thanks so much to the people who took them and have posted them. It's so great to see/hear. One frustrating thing for me is that Shadow of Love was cut. I wonder why? Just so that the show isn't too long? It frustrates me that the old songs are cut, but I understand why; they are old songs that she has to sing or people (such as myself) will be cranky but you don't want to spend too much time on them so that we can have as many new songs as possible. But when the NEW songs are cut as well... Unless I'm mistaken but that Shadow of Love clip seemed to be the first verse and then a cut right to the bridge. And Fade Away had one of those final choruses cut - although that one doesn't really bug me as much because she sounded so freaking amazing on it, I will forgive just about anything!! And as for All By Myself, I was worried that she would lipsynch that but that note was clearly live and still unf&*(%$ingbelieveable!!!!! So I have to ask myself why sing that live but lipsynch the high notes for Power of Love and Taking Chances (and I know some of you don't think she does and I respect that and don't mean to rile you - this is for the people who, like me, believe that those note weren't live - any thoughts?) I truly, truly hope that she's still doing All By Myself when she's in America. The first time I saw her in concert (Let's Talk About Love tour in Chicago, September 1998) she was still singing it and it was one of the highlights of the concert. By the time I saw the tour again in Indianapolis (March 1999), she had cut that song and added The Power of Love and I'm Your Angel. If I can hear her do that song again live I will be one happy camper. Quote
Tal Posted February 22, 2008 at 05:47 PM Posted February 22, 2008 at 05:47 PM Firstly, a huge thanks to everyone who kept us all posted, gave us updates, captured video, audio and pics. You are awesome! Gotta say, I'm really disappointed with SOL. I agree...I don't understand why it was cut short. They cut out the climaxes of the song.....the second "I can run but I can't HIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIDE" and the "loooove loove love love yeah" part. And the staging is dull as well! Its such an amazing song, yet they cut out the best parts and all she does is stand there with her back up singers. I'm still thrilled that they added it to this tour because I honestly didn't think it would be included. And I'm hoping that the staging will look better once they move to the round stage. But talk about not realizing a song to its full potential! Quote I live my life like a runawayI hide my dreams in a special placeI'm waiting here for my prince to comeTo save me from the darkness...

ks1981 Posted February 22, 2008 at 06:19 PM Posted February 22, 2008 at 06:19 PM I wanted to comment without causing an uproar about the stage...it really doesn't look that great does it? This is prob going to cause friction with some - i hope it doesn't. At the same time her vocals are absolutely amazing, she looks great and her outfits are fabulous! I think perfomance wise I'm most looking forward to Think Twice and All By Myself when I go see the show (and Celine on the treadmills) So carrying on ref the stage - I personally think the show looks slightly uncomfortable. I don't know if anyone else is with me on this - I'm not being picky or trying to diss or be negative...just having an open minded opinion. Some will prob say that just to see Celine live is enough etc which is not my point at all. So. taking out the technical aspects for whatever the reason the stage is at one end of a venue during parts of the tour..is it quite what you expected to see... ? At this stage in the tour and how things are now, personnal I'm really glad im going to get the opportunity to see the show in central stage (or in the round i think people call it) - The centre stage looks brilliant!! will be interesting to see how the show evolves and gets on its feet. The stage and the staging are a little lacklustre but, if I were at the concert, I'd be one of those people who didn't care - just seeing her would be enough for me. But, having said that, I'm also really glad that I'm going to see it once it's in the round!!!! Also, I've been thinking about Think Twice. As much as I love that song, it was not a hit here in the US. I've been trying to think of what song would replace but can't come up with anything as she's already doing her big songs. The only thing I can think of is A New Day Has Come because that was one of her biggest Adult Contemporary Hits (I think it was #1 for like 12 weeks or something like that). Any other US people have suggestions on what will replace that here? Quote

Well another thing - with the extensive list of songs and length of the show, i do think the tickets are reasonably priced. Celine must be really enjoying the experience of being back on the road it must be a totally different buzz for her in comaprison to vegas and the freedom she now has on stage. Are there any other songs in her setlist which anyone thinks are subject to change because they wernt hits in certain contries like Think Twice? Its her cameltoe red thing is ugly... it's in the spanish, arabic segment but i dont see any of it... maybe the colour the dress she wears for SOL, FA... it looks like an african dress... its terrible...and that yellow dress? owh god... her RDMH dress is okay, but her hair is sooo much... soo thick and soo combed... she has to do more wavy, curl, not to much... and when you see her in the fashion victim video you think: O M G is that celine dion? she looks sooo hot, her hair is just like heaven, the colour, the way it is styled, her clothing, the earrings... sooo much fashion and style...and there she is on stage with a thing on were you dont see any of her sexy body.... i soo dont get it... and we have only 1 video like that... I still refuse to watch any video or listen to any audio. We will see if I can demonstrate self-control for more than another week! I am extremely happy with the setlist and so glad Think Twice has been included. However... I think it would be in everybody's best interests if they would just REMOVE and destroy Love Can Move Mountains!
