I am dissapointed after viewing the videos that there isn't more going on onstage while she is performing. I thought the guy who directed Madonna's tour was doing this? Where is all that pizazz?? I hope they fix that by the time she goes round!

I think Celine sounds AMAZING from the clips I've seen and the costumes are cool too! But I agree with the stage and lighting show.......it looks kinda, dare I say , "boring">..I anticipate this tour hasnt really shown its true colours yet. I just have to say that Celine is the only true diva still standing. Mariah, Whitney and Aretha have nothing but remnants of their former vocal glories. Babs still has it but not all of it.

That note at the end of ABM was AMMMMMMAAAAAAAAAAAAAAZZZZZIIIIIIIIINGGGGGGGGGGG. Probably in the top 3 of that song, it was just flawless! Incredible that she can still hit that!

 

 

Hopefully I am not speaking for myself, but never in my mind did I ever doubt Celine's vocal ability nor did I think her Vegas residency would ruin her voice. It really does not surprise me she can still like she did in the 1990s.

 

We all know Celine has great technical skills when it comes to her voice... Plus she's a total professional.

I wanted to comment without causing an uproar about the stage...it really doesn't look that great does it?

 

This is prob going to cause friction with some - i hope it doesn't.

 

At the same time her vocals are absolutely amazing, she looks great and her outfits are fabulous! I think perfomance wise I'm most looking forward to Think Twice and All By Myself when I go see the show (and Celine on the treadmills)

 

So carrying on ref the stage - I personally think the show looks slightly uncomfortable. I don't know if anyone else is with me on this - I'm not being picky or trying to diss or be negative...just having an open minded opinion. Some will prob say that just to see Celine live is enough etc which is not my point at all. So. taking out the technical aspects for whatever the reason the stage is at one end of a venue during parts of the tour..is it quite what you expected to see... ?

 

At this stage in the tour and how things are now, personnal I'm really glad im going to get the opportunity to see the show in central stage (or in the round i think people call it) - The centre stage looks brilliant!! will be interesting to see how the show evolves and gets on its feet. Maybe my criticism does somewhat reflect on whats to come, making the comparison to the wacky stage..treadmills and lifts.

I agree. The stage and the staging are a little lacklustre but, if I were at the concert, I'd be one of those people who didn't care - just seeing her would be enough for me. But, having said that, I'm also really glad that I'm going to see it once it's in the round!!!!

 

Also, I've been thinking about Think Twice. As much as I love that song, it was not a hit here in the US. I've been trying to think of what song would replace but can't come up with anything as she's already doing her big songs. The only thing I can think of is A New Day Has Come because that was one of her biggest Adult Contemporary Hits (I think it was #1 for like 12 weeks or something like that). Any other US people have suggestions on what will replace that here?

 

 

I am sure Celine has more tricks up her sleeve once she gets to use the roiund stage! The tour should be at its full technical swing once the show arrives in Europe and the US!

 

As far as I am concerned, even if Celine sat on a stool onstage with no dancers or technological glitz and just her voice and band, I would be just as content.

I am extremely happy with the setlist and so glad Think Twice has been included. However... I think it would be in everybody's best interests if they would just REMOVE and destroy Love Can Move Mountains!

so here is my review judging from the bootleg we have :

 

IGTMIM - amazinggggggggggg it's not getting any more powerful than this or is it ? what a perfect way to start the show...100% live and those vocals OMG

 

TPOL , TLYM , IACBTMN - i remember those first reviews of people who could swear it was all live...after hearing the bootleg and few notes from the first show there is no doubt those r the same pre-recorded versions from vegas...the first part of TPOL is live and that's it - i'd rather her not singing this songs at all if she is lip synching it

 

BYLM - we already heard better performances of this song...it's 100% live which is great but i hate the fact it's so short witout the most amazing notes in the middle...we know celine can still hit those notes easily as we heard on "the early show" and "ellen" not so long ago

 

TC - i'm not really into this song but ofcours she must sing it as it's the first single and the theme song of the new album...the performance was great and again - no problems at all with the high notes .

 

EOM - i'm not sure it's live but if it is all i can say is wowwwwwwwwww perfect vocals...sometimes too perfect and that's why i'm not sure...

 

SOL - she sang it so easily...i can understand why some crtics didn't like the arrangments on the new songs but who cares when her voice is in such shape right?

 

IA - i never liked this song but i have to admit it sounds much better with the new arrangments ...not great vocals there but i guess she just had fun on stage during this number .

 

FA - again...so easy...when u hear her hitting those high notes it's like we all can do it - it's just so easy for her

 

ABM - i'm not going to be very original here - OMFGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGG there is not doubt she sang most of this song live....i pray that last part was live too with the 10 sec note - it was as powerful as in 1996 - like she is in her late 20's again - i still can't believe it

 

overall - u know what i don't care if she is lip synching some of the songs as long as ABM , TT and the new songs are 100% live ...i can't wait to hear more bootlegs of her singing ABM - i want to hear that last note over and over again to be certain...we still haven't heard TT and the anticipation is killing me!!!i've been waiting for a live version of this song for years now!!!!

I can't believe I actually heard Fade away live I wish I could be there listening to her, though. This song is by far one of my favorites and she totally nailed it and made me love it even more!! OMG!!!!! I've been telling myself that I shouldn't do those things. I shouldn't listen to everything because then it just gives me hope that I'll see her again one day, even when I know the chances are very small... But I'm really happy I listened to all these bootlegs and saw the videos and the pictures! They sure made my night, or why not say my week, better in such a hetic time of my life!

Oh yea, I can't wait, this is like the only track on the set list I have been wanting to hear. I mean, it's been so long, and I am almost ready to forget the An Audience lipping of this song being all Stepfordian as long as I get this song and it's live...

Uhu! I have been listening to that one almost daily now. I love how it is different from the album version, so much soul in it and how it ends, I wish it would never end... The only complaint is though that I whish Céline didn the No No No No herself and not the audience.

just a comment on the stage. south africa don't have big stadiums like those in other countries, so celine just has to make do with what we've got. i've seen the videos and dvds of her other shows and most definitely there are far bigger stadiums. ours probably fit about 50 000 people max while others fit way over 80 000 people.

Think Twice was released in the US; it was only a moderate hit (maybe top 40). Only One Road was also released here in the US and was a moderate top 40 hit. In fact, whenever I'm playing Celine and there are non Celine fans around, when they hear Only One Road, they ALL say "I always thought this was a Whitney Houston song."

Think Twice was released in the US; it was only a moderate hit (maybe top 40). Only One Road was also released here in the US and was a moderate top 40 hit. In fact, whenever I'm playing Celine and there are non Celine fans around, when they hear Only One Road, they ALL say "I always thought this was a Whitney Houston song."

 

My mom thought Whitney sang Only one Road, too! What a funny coincidence. Anyway, yes both TT and Only One Road came out on radio here but, if i remember correctly, TT was not as big as only one road and neither did very well here.
