CONFIRMED: Celine WON'T be at the 2010 Vancouver Olympics

Well... I saw Celine in the Star magazine yesterday at Walmart... And there was a short article about Celine performing at the Olympics in Beijing. It seems that it's a surefire thing she'll be performing, but the tune that she'll be singing won't be revealed until August 8th - which is when the games begin. If the word leaks as to which song she'll be doing, it'd be a matter of luck.

The magazine is wrong. Celine's song is just on of the more than 30 entries. And the winner won't be revealed until August 8th. But Celine would sing it for the first time on her Beijing concert at April 13th.

DeLima is in pursuit of Celine Dion as the recording artist because Celine will be opening the 2010 Olympics in Vancouver.

"The Song the World Wrote" is upbeat and inspirational and represents several countries, as do the Olympics.

 

The song's title "Oceans of Love - The Song the World Wrote" and its first line were written by multiple Emmy Award Winning Songwriter A.J. Gundell and the world wrote the rest of the song. The song boasts writers from Canada, USA, Ireland, Lebanon, Argentina, England, New Zealand, China, France, Germany and India.

Johnny is a performer/songwriter in Vancouver. He survived major brain surgery as a teenager and awoke with a newfound commitment to life and giving back. Lucy is a social worker in Toronto who enjoys spreading the ideas of love and unity to others. She believes strongly in diversity and paying it forward.

Ugh well let's hope and pray it will be a decent song. Almost 100% of the songs written for these types of even is pure cheesy crap, banalities with sugar on them. All songs written for charity, and I am allergic to those with 50 different singers in them.

 

Let's hope it will have the same high quality as Whitney's One Moment In Time.

I hope she is, the other day on a chinese channel my mom was watching, they were advertising the 2010 olympics they were playing the power of the dream in the backgroud!!!!! But Celine said her break will be at least 18 months, that would be in the middle of her break.... So i really don't know....

I can't wait for her to sing. Hopefully she will but if there is a chance that she does have a child, I would much rather her be at home with her new baby than singing one song for the opening. Well, the theme song for the Winter Olympics has already been chosen.

It's a new song by Sarah McLachlan, called "One Dream" (beautiful song btw)

 

Singer/songwriter Sarah McLachlan has written and recorded the theme song to the 2010 Winter Olympics in Vancouver, EW.com has learned exclusively. The track, called "One Dream," will be used in all of NBC's promos for the games.
