Taking Chances World Tour DVD Pre-Release Thread Part 1

No I didn't forget it, I left it out. It has already been released on a live album. The idea about this tracklist was songs that haven't been released on a live album before + the rare songs of the TC tour.

Anyone got a HQ performance of that? I thought I saw one once for some news station or something.

i just hope that the my love they will include isn't the same as that from the telethon and greatest hits cd. of all the recordings they had of this song, they had to choose the worst!!! her voice was so tired! they should filmed some european concerts where her voice was really crystal clear and powerful, before it got tired as the tour went to NA

I think the best thing for both fans satisfaction and sales figures would be something like this: Live album from the tour, with the best of the tour, summer 09 release. Live DVD, with full concert plus rare songs from the tour as extra material, pre-christmas 09 release.

 

I think it is time for a live album with a 'best of live performances'-theme, rather than just picking some songs from one single concert (and always ending up picking the same booring songs). And the Taking Chances tour is the perfect ground for that kind of concept. A lot of material have been recorded so they do have the material. Plus it wouldn't be concufusing at all with some easy editing to merge the ending and the beginning applauses between the tracks, giving the illusion of it all being from the same concert. And the tacklist? Simply, the best from this tour, rare tracks included, plus live tracks wich have been hits but not included on other live albums. Example:

You're right. The live version on the CD was recorded in Stockholm. I was at that concert, and she didn't sound tired to me!

yeah I think this could work very well! Although I would add Je Sais Pas and RDMH. I know that JSP was on 2 live albums already, but the new version on tour had a whole new deeper level and RDMH, well it was just one of the best songs each night! plus it would spice the cd up a bit

I agree! RDMH was only added in Noveember 2006 so it would be nice to have a 21st century live version on the album!

I'm always one of the first to point out if something is lipped, and while RDMH may have been lipped in Vegas it was definitely live during this tour.

 

She has messed the lyrics up on two occasions (one at the very beginning of the song and one after the big note). Additionally, in Vegas the belted note was an F5, and while I believe it was here too, on one occasion it was a Bb5.

I just have a question. These were the shows where she was sick. Is she hitting that notes to keep her voice warm or from loosing it altogether?

And Phoenix was the show where she lost her voice! When most people get sick they sound like crap. When Celine gets sick she hits notes like never before!

I'm not sure, Claudette. But the performance of Alone from that night was much like many of the earlier performances where the high note wasn't really high. So I think it may have been on accident, lol.

 

The first two are similar to the album version, the Arizona one is kinda in between and the last two are the normal high note on the North American shows.

It was a bit higher then Paris and Korea, but it definitely wasn't as high as the other North American shows (which many people thought was when she started using playback for that...).

I agree. I think it was live in Vegas also. But I guess some of us will never agree on this topic. The fact is: sometimes it is very difficult to tell because Celine is so good... But I cannot help but wonder how many times Celine has been blamed for lipping, while in actual fact she was singing live...

LOL! Can you even hit notes like that on accident (except maybe when you see something scary or are in pain or something). That's it, maybe she was in pain... But seriously, in the Alone video of Phoenix you can hear she was sick, but she still did an excellent job. I guess that comes with the experience...

 

Something else that I noticed during the Phoenix show was that at one point she took her monitor thingies out of her ears. I wonder why... All I can think is that she had a headache or earache and it bothered her. Isn't it more difficult to sing without it? So she must have had a good reason why she took them out...

Alone in Omaha was the best! she sang it so freely and freshly:)

She did there what she wanted... the same was with ABM when during instrumental part she did some uuu oohhh i love when she does so!

I thought "Alone" on tour sounded better than on the TC album. What a highlight!

A proper live CD would be nice. Not crap, like the "highlights" of "Au cœur du Stade" and "AND...LILV." At least the other live albums has BULK (though "En Concert" lacked some big numbers!)
