Celine's comeback to Las Vegas - March 2011

Visiblement ému de l’honneur qui lui était rendu par le Gouvernement du Québec, bombardé de questions sur l’achat des Canadiens, le nouvel Officier René Angélil semblait préoccupé par une affaire d’ordre personnel, qu’il a révélé après la cérémonie: le processus de fécondation pour un deuxième enfant connaît des complications.

 

«Des complications de santé», s’est-il contenté de dire.

 

«Pour René-Charles, ça s’était très bien passé; mais, cette fois, c’est plus compliqué; y a des complications; ça pourrait aller mieux. On peut juste se croiser les doigts et espérer...», a-t-il indiqué sans élaborer.

 

Le couple souhaite de tout coeur ce deuxième enfant. La carrière de Céline est laissée en suspens en attendant les résultats du processus. Si les résultats sont positifs, le couple se consacrera à son rôle de parents; dans le cas contraire, il est prévu que Céline reprendra sa carrière de chanteuse.

 

M. Angélil a déjà confié au Journal qu’il est prévu, en cas de résultats négatifs, que Céline retournera chanter, en 2010, au Caesar’s Palace de Las Vegas, mais à un rythme moins effréné de représentations.

 

Par ailleurs, après avoir surmonté un récent problème de santé, René Angélil se dit «en excellente forme».

L’homme de 67 ans au teint toujours aussi basané a reçu son titre avec émotion, dignité et simplicité. Comme les autres lauréats, il a reçu du premier ministre Jean Charest - qui l’a présenté comme «une légende, qui a révélé à la planète une des plus belles voix au monde» - la plus haute distinction du Gouvernement du Québec sans droit de commentaire sur-le-champ.

 

Plus tard, en point de presse, ce fils d’immigrant d’origine modeste dira avoir une pensée spéciale pour ses parents qui ne sont plus de ce monde. «Comme mon père est décédé il y a très longtemps, il n’a pas connu mon cheminement professionnel; j’ai eu plus de chance avec ma mère décédée il y a une dizaine d’années».

 

Cet honneur à René Angélil tenait à souligner «qu’il a transformé l’industrie internationale du spectacle en y imposant son style unique et une vision francophone nord-américaine».

 

À cet égard, le lauréat a rappelé en conférence de presse le spectacle tout en français de Céline lors du 400e de Québec. «Je n’ai rien contre ceux qui choisissent de chanter en anglais; c’est une question de jugement personnel».

 

Cet honneur tenait aussi à souligner le fait que «par son engagement et son action, M. Angélil a ouvert les portes à de nombreux créateurs québécois, contribuant ainsi largement au rayonnement du Québec dans le monde».

If the results are positive, the couple will dedicate itself to its parents role; should the opposite occur, it is planned that Céline will take back her singer's career. I want her to become pregnant- but that means no singing

I want her to sing again in LV- but that means no baby

And thinking a bit more about it, maybe better that she returns after few years when the economy is better, so that people can travel from far away to see her

Last year when she was on tour we saw a vibrant funky Celine back to promoting, making tv appearances and singing more songs than she ever did in Vegas and although most concerts were scripted we saw much more randomness from her than we ever did in Vegas.

I get what you mean. I didn´t get to see the TC tour but I saw LTAL tour and it was fantastic.

 

Why do I want her to return to Las Vegas, well because then I had the chance to go when I wanted to. It was a schedule and I knew where I had her.

But the show was very scripted. I want more changes next time. I think it will be from what René said yesterday

Nope you're not the only one! I also have that feeling and I fear that she won't be able to top AND! Especially with the current economic situation, I don't think it's smart to return to Vegas now... plus during the tour she was much more accessable! I'd rather have another world tour on a much smaller scale then Vegas again...

Im quite certain Celine and Rene have a timeline in which they'll try and if shes not pregnant by a certain date, thats it.

 

Its late June already and if she's planning on Caesars in June 2010 there's no way they've got Caesars just "waiting" somthing has to be negotiated.

 

Maybe I'm out on a limb here, but I'd say if Celine is not pregnant by the end of the summer (August/Sept 09) she won't try anymore.

 

I really want to see her in Vegas!!! But if she has a baby, thats great too.

The cut off age is 45 for women using their own egg if the egg is removed at that age!

I wanted to ask the same thing? I also think they mean 2009. But I have a feeling that they have decided nothing yet. So I think Sept 2010 is also not true. I think at this stage they are waiting to see if Celine gets pregnent or not and only then will they decide what she will do next. And maybe it is not even Vegas (I hope)...
